I tried alligator once at a restaurant called Bass Pro, Shop and it was okay. The texture was we weird, like calamari which I love but has to be right slices and spices, with correct sauce.
But the sauce that came with it was awful. I couldn't eat it without sauce. Was a waste of money.
Something else are sword fish steaks was pan seared by me with rice and asparagus.

You need to try that in a Florida restaurant.
Gator tail broiled I think in lemon and butter.
Venison can vary, depending. If the deer was hanging around farms and the like, it's delicious. In all cases, it is advisable to cut the tallow and pitch it.
Pheasant and grouse also really good. If they (pheasant) aren't farm raised, watch out for shot.
Gator reminds me of frog legs, unless it is heavily seasoned.
Bear, moose and elk are all great.
The one I have been wanting to try is spotted owl.....
I've had wild boar cooked all day on the grill and we chopped it up and had it with soft tacos. Pretty tasty!
Living in the dirty south I've tried all sorts since my friends and guy relatives hunt. I only go fishing. I mainly ride around in the boat with a book and beer all day. I never try to catch anything. LOL! Fried alligator is great. I've been lucky to try this stuff at tailgating, people's houses during a mixer etc. Don't try it at some carpetbagger's chain restaurant. Stick to chicken fingers at those or better yet a salad.
Other then Venison. Ive tried Rabbit, Alligator, Horse, and even Ostrich. Ostrich is kinda like beef and much leaner. Even leaner then chicken.
Crocodile- wasn't pleasant imo
Emu- gamey and not unlike turkey
Kangaroo- lean, tasty, lots of flavor and delish
Witchetty grub- cooked, tastes like scrambled egg
Goanna- stringy flesh and nutty flavour

I live in the USA yes and no it's not. Especially if it is the farmed variety. There are several restaurants in the USA that serve ostrich.
When I was in Alaska, I had moose steak with eggs. Best breakfast I had.
On that note. I also had Alligator, Deer, Rabbit and Buffalo.
I love Venison and Shark fin soup. Kangaroo and Alligator not so much.
I also dislike Turkey and turkey eggs.
Venison. Ostrich. Bison. Wild boar bacon.
Boar, buffalo, gator, goat, kangaroo, shark, venison, to name a few.

I have had deer meet, it is the best when cooked to perfection. I didn't know it was deer meat 😢Wild Boars were yummy too!
I'm surprised calamari is considered a delicacy. Its a shame most people don't know to cook it, they either deep fry it or make it hard and rubbery. Smh
Lol! My sister had deer without knowing it is deer too. She said she loved it. She also had peacock n rabbit. Said rabbit tastes the worst. But how peacock— It feels like killing a unicorn ?

Other then beef, chicken, pork, turkey or lamb. Something that is killed in the wild and brought to your table. Such as Venison, wild boar, pheasant, frog legs, alligator. Stuff like that. What's your story and what did it taste like?
