I hate when people say your dressed up today going somewhere special? Umm I'm sorry maybe I just wanted to slay the run way of life today! And I always wear dresses just because this one is a little different doesn't mean in dressed up? Now I feel over dressed! What do you guys consider dressed up?
What do you consider dressing up?
Posted by ChoXtsyI feel the same way I normally wear dresses and skirts to work so idk maybe this one looked different
Yeah people say stuff like that when I wear decent clothes, makeup and throw on earrings. That usually just means I did laundry and woke up on time.
Maybe you spent a little extra time today or did something different?
Dressed up to me is the full shebang.starting in the shower shaving and exfoliating, lotioned up, Full face of makeup w/lashes, a sexy dress, heels, perfume
Something that screams it took me 4 hours to get ready.

Tuxedo or any type of formal wear. Full face of make up and extravagent jewelry.
See yeah thanks y'all are making me feel better thanks!

Posted by ladylibra21my opinion - whoever said that to you has nothing better to say so they say stupid shit - it has a label - maybe a passive aggressive control attempt - like who the F are you and why do I need your comment on how I'm dressed today - personally that person would be a waste of my time - I would just say "excuse me (as you brush them aside) you are breathing too much of my air" - that's my Mercury in Aries talking lololol

Yeah totally annoying. They could just say you look pretty. Is it that hard? 😆

Dresses can look too "dressy" depending on the style and fabric, accessories, etc. Obviously, a loose-fitted cotton dress is going to look a lot more casual than a satin body-con dress.
Flashy jewelry, high-heels, full face of make-up, hair done, and anything beyond that is what I'd consider "dressing up".

OMG SAMEEEE People at school always ask me do i host events after school, because I constantly get dressed up. (MIND YOU I LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY) ... I honestly don't consider it dressing up, I just consider it looking good enough to find a future husband and feeling good about myself. And if somebody double looks at me its not because i have anything on my teeth, its because I look so fucking good.

Dressing up to me is heels, hair and makeup done, boobs/legs out! Im either rockin a grammy ready, or homeless look though!

A lot of people think I'm dressed up because I wear a lot of dresses (almost everyday) in the summer. I wear them to casual restaurants, my moms house, work, golf courses, and everywhere else. I think people think I'm dressed up because I'm almost always more dressed up then they are or the crowd I'm in. I guess that's true!

I used to dress up all the time. But now I'm pretty understated.. just for the sake of not being judged of being too dressed up. I do miss dressing up though.

I don't get that either. You put forth effort in your wardrobe and it's suddenly considered "dressing up?" This is what happens when we let hoodrats take over common decency. But then again, this is the era where silly bitches think dressing like a Vegas slut is "nice" attire and show up to job interviews as if they're going clubbing, so...
Dressing up is when I'm going to a formal event or working at an event in Hollywood, where dressed up attire was basically the uniform of the night.
Wearing skinny jeans with cute brown boots, some sort of top with a scarf isn't "dressed up."
Dressed up = makeup, heels, nice dress/something equally as nice, hair did, etc.
Daily varies. Lazy days, jeans/shorts and whatever top I feel like wearing, sandals/flip flops, whatever. Boots, if the weather is cooler.
More effort days- more coordination amongst the whole outfit and more accessorizing.

Posted by Libra82The mentality here is that it's just school. Might as well be comfortable. Usually, it's the 8am classes that get people going "fuck it" and donning the hoodie and jeans. Easy and comfortable for lugging all your shit around all day.
I got this a lot in university in the US as an exchange student. Everyone was in their hoodies which was terrible fashion for me. I will never wear a hoodie to school 😛
I wear my normal clothes and suddenly that's dressed up because it's not a hoodie 😛 Even a simple dress is too much.
However, dressing aside from that isn't that big of a deal. The ones that caught a lot of people's eye were these chicks showing up in heels or dressed borderline like they were going to a club. It got a lot of strange looks because it's like dahell? You're going to walk all over campus in those heels? Wtf for? Torment much?
People say the same thing to me , but I love getting dressed up! I feel my best when I look best!
And I'm also always in dresses and akirts lol

I used to worry about being overdressed often because I live in an area where people dress outrageously casual. But then I realised, fuck it. Raise the bar.

Oh, dressed up for me = nice dress (as in, better detail than a casual sundress or something,) heels, jewelry. I have a toddler so I don't typically wear heels and jewelry on a regular day unless I go out for a meeting or something. I work from home.
