arguably the BEST astrologer that ever lived ...she wrote a couple of books that are still relevant and some of the BEST references to astrology

before you ask she was an aries ( no surprise there at all) with a scorpio moon (not really surprised there either) its a pretty bad ass combo (my personal opinion)

Holy snap I didn't even know we had a forum specifically for Linda Goodman.

Besides her, I like Alyssa Sharpe. She started and worked mainly from YouTube. Her videos are relatable and accurate in my opinion and I always liked hearing her insight.

I love her books, especially the Love Signs.

Also, I love how she writes about compatibility based on gender, for example there are two separate chapters for Aries woman/Leo man and Leo woman/Aries man instead of one about Aries/Leo relationships in general 🙂

yes! I love that she is so specific..her writing is lovely

and I think its interesting that she dedicated her whole life to astrology especially during the 1970's

Linda Goodman's moon is in Libra.

not according to astrotheme

https://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Linda_Goodman

Funny, the biography and chart from that Astrotheme entry contradicts itself. It shows a chart for April 10, but the biography says April 9 (as shown in Copperdove's post):

Biography of Linda Goodman

Mary Alice Kemery popularly known as Linda Goodman (*April 9, 1925* (birth time source: Astrodatabank, BC) – October 21, 1995) was a New York Times bestselling American astrologer and poet. She is notable as the author of the first astrology book to make The New York Times Best Seller list.

Yes, everything I'm looking up, so far, says April 9 1925 for her birthday, not the 10th. Astrotheme is the anomaly.

Yes.

It seems it's a bit of a mystery -- I found an article about that.

this CRAZY INTERESTING ...I tried to research and there are a BUNCH of sites that contradict each other that article was very interesting thank you for posting it

For sure! I wonder what the truth is! There must be someone who knows, surely. Maybe not exact birth time, but the rest. You're welcome. :-)

Sometimes when I'm reading Linda Goodman's work I feel like there's Leo somewhere prominent.

"Even though Linda Goodman could provide others with insight about their futures and personalities, she was incredibly secretive about her own life. Shrouded in eccentricities, difficulties and mystery, she most often would give out April 9th as her birthday, but refused to confirm a time or even a year. The most frequently noted year in regard to her birth is 1925. Why did she hide her own birth date and time from the public? To prevent others from being able to reveal her chart, of course."

This screams Scorpio moon.

yep

To me as well.

I totally agree with that she has some leo somewhere in her chart! ...I guess if we were an astrologer you could fudge your birthday and kind of smudge out all of your flaws so to speak ...

Cool that you can detect a Leo quality too -- it feels like it's somewhere, somehow. She could definitely have had the power to obscure the truth.

And, here's the link to her information from ADB: http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Goodman,_Linda

Thank you so much for looking into that! Can't beat an AA rating. :-) The above link is where I looked at her chart. I've so often found errors on astrotheme.com compared to astro.com, so I usually avoid astrotheme now. Good to know this!

I also just saw this in the article:

Source Notes

LMR quotes Kathleen Johnson for the date, from Goodman; confirmed by Frank C. Clifford by phone from the records bureau. Time deduced by LMR from her statement that she had Neptune right on the ASC. For the most part she concealed her own data, only dropping hints and clues to her colleagues.

According to Wikipedia, the magazine 'Today's Astrologer' writes on February 6, 2008, p. 11:

According to her birth certificate, on file at the American Federation of Astrologers in Tempe, Arizona, she was born on April 9, 1925 at 6:05 a.m. EST in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Sy Scholfield quotes from a magazine article about astrologers, "How It Can Be Foretold" by Ann Bayer, LIFE, 26 September 1969, p. 75: "Miss Goodman feels that ordinarily it doesn't hurt to increase your vibrations, but being a double Aries herself she often finds it necessary to curtail her own... although red is the color of Aries, she always wears blue (the color of Libra, her moon sign) ..."

Okay, when you disregard her secrecy, the rest of her biography screams Libra moon - even down to becoming bankrupt because she was lavishing friends with gifts.

She also came across as too astrology obsessed, volatile and emotionally unhinged.

"In 1973, her 21-year-old daughter Sally committed suicide... Goodman refused to believe that she was dead and said it was a government conspiracy, a cover-up, and spent a half million dollars searching for her daughter. Eventually she claimed that Marilyn Monroe, Howard Hughes and Elvis Presley were alive and in hiding."

Two marriages and one known extra-marital affair. Yikes!

In her later work she started coming across as crazy to me at times.

Maybe her 12th house sun and Venus contributed to her secrecy bent -- many 12th house sun people I've known have something like that going on. Venus, which is conjunct her sun, might mean enjoyment of secrecy for her.
