One, THAT is the type of play I expect to see from our team. Leaps and bounds better than group play.

Two, when Green stepped on to the field, I knew immediately he was going to score a goal. We seemed to have more scoring talent on the bench than on the field. It was stupid of Klinsmann to rely solely on one individual to handle the entire offense. ...and another one to handle defense. Though, to be fair, our defense was working MUCH better than previously. Our offense was still pretty weak. Props to them stepping it up into the final minutes. Also, poor Wondolowski. I bet he's STILL kicking himself for not getting his head down. It would have gone in had he done that.

Three, Tim Howard = amazing. I am so happy he's getting so much attention. He's been a great keeper for years, but was always overshadowed by other big names on the team when they did well. Loving all the memes floating about. He totally deserves the attention.

Finally, get rid of Bradley. Wtf is he doing there?

I also loved how frustrated Belgium was getting. We practically hustled them given our performance of group play. "wtf, we weren't expecting this shit!"

@Slicks: "Ayo this German team is weak sauce. idc if they won. Look how many chances Algeria created, France will eat them"

France didn't eat 'em. Germany is a traditional competition-team which is the 2nd best team of the world according to FIFA. So no surprise that they often reached semi-finals in big competitions. They played weak against Alegria, because their Bundestrainer Jogi L?w decided to try new tactics which coulnd't work, e.g. Philipp Lahm played in the midfield, although he is a classical right-back. I bet that they would reach the semi-finals before and won 😉

The best teams in this worldcup are in my opinion Brasil (What else they? They r the host country), the Netherlands and Germany.

I hope Neymar gets well soon! I mever wish on anybody ever what happened to Neymar.
Juan Zuniga??s foul on Neymar was only the —tip of the iceberg?? caused by a ref who never gave yellow cards or red cards for obviously brutal and unsporting behavior and let it escalate. Brazil??s players fouled Colombian players several times without getting carded by this ref before the horrible attack on Neymar occured. Since the referee never to action to stop it, Colombian players started to foul Brazilian players as well. This match was a disaster.

—The foul-ridden game inspired Maradona's rant on his TV show, —De Zurda." The Argentine legend linked referee Velasco Carballo, who called a very poor game, with an alleged plan from FIFA to help the host nation advance to the semifinals. According to this conspiracy theory, FIFA wants Brazil to win their sixth championship at all costs.
??I think they made a great choice with the referee, especially in those crucial moments when Colombia had the better chance in winning the game,?? the former World Cup champion said.
Maradona also accused David Luiz of —systematically trying to injure James Rodriguez by fouling him six times and the ref never once pulled out a card.??
—This is the worst ref I have seen in the last 10 years,?? he declared before saying that both Hulk and Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar should have received red cards during the match.??

Our TV expert, former German Nationalelf player Mehmet Scholl, was so furious after the Brazil-Colombia match. He said:
—I'm very angry and disappointed. This is what happens when a ref doesn't control the game. When he lets everything go. It means that the small players get eradicated (referencing Neymar). That's not football anymore. That's not the sport we love. Small technical players are getting hunted at this tournament and nobody is doing anything about it."

@Tiziani: I don't mean to offend you, but when a player leaves the game with broken bones or like Neymar with a broken vertebra, this has absolutely nothing to do with fun anymore. Have you watched the full match? Zuniga kicked Neymar directly in the lower back by using his knees. This is not about over-dramatizing things. It was just the worst and most unfair match I??ve seen in 12 years.

- Nobody said that football is getting a "non-contact" sport. We are speaking here of deliberately hurting other people for scoring a goal. This is a BIG difference.

- Football isn't getting a non-contact sport, but the opposite is the case. Statistics prove this: In this worldcup were 167 yellow cards given. (2010: 261 yellow cards). Even if there are still some games left, it won't be the same amount of cards (average yellow cards during one match 2-3) and doesn't changes the fact that this worldcup is in comprarison to past worldcups a lot more physical and harsh .

- If you like sports with a lot of physical contact, I give you the suggestion to watch or to play rugby.

- Neymar will be back in 6 weeks, but the worldcup for him is already over. Brazilian people made it his event in their country. How often, do you think, has a football player the chance in his life to play a worldcup in his own country?

- The FIFA proves if there is possibility to accuse the ref and Zuniga, because of bodily harm. That says everything about the fact how legal and —normal?? this foul was.

- When a huge amount of people and even former football players, who experienced past world cups, (you said the opposite that the past world cups were more physical and better) independently of one another consider this match to be too harsh and start to complain, then the argumentation contains surely truth.

@Slicks: We are talking about two differnt pairs of different shoes — there are extra rules for dives and for the punishment because of unsporting behavior. By the way, there are already punishments for dives. But every ref is a human and human make mistakes. There will be no match ever 100% fair.
You haven't got my statement above: playing football got a lot more physical in these days, but less cards are given for unsporting behavior. Former world class players like Diego Maradona, Oliver Kahn and Mehmet Scholl stated already that the Brazil-Colombia match was "too physical" and the there should have been a lot more early punishments within games like this. If the ref lets everthing go, this is where such attacks on Neymar come from. It escalates. I think Maradona,Mehmet Scholl or Oliver Kahn are able to evaluate this better than anybody else here.

@Tiziani: I hate general statements, but again: if you like more physical sports, watch rugby or go and do boxing or what else.
I discussed Neymars injury with my cousin. He's a physiotherapist and said that Neymar won't be painless after 6 weeks — even not by taking professional help of his doctors, because not only his bone, but also his muscular system, connective tissue and the nervous tissue around the bone are hurt. He will have to learn movements he could do before this injury happenend completely again.
I think your comment that incidents like this are normal and sports should be like this is just macabre.

@ VivaciousScorpio: —I got to agree with Maradonna's rant. Ever since that first game, you can see just how hard Fifa are pushing for a Brazil win to deflect the crisis they've themselves put onto the country. Referee's have been so biased.—

Agree 100% with you and it's getting even ??_better??:

—Brazil appeal Thiago Silva yellow card in bid to have ban overturned for World Cup semi-final against Germany
Captain was booked during 2-1 quarter-final win over Colombia
Brazil have appealed to FIFA to have yellow card wiped out, freeing him for Tuesday's meeting with Germany?? (DAILYMAIL)
