Anyone else trapped in the house?

I live in the snowbelt so you know it's bad when they even close the malls and liquor stores.

I'm in upstate New York. Blizzard here

We are neighbors! My county just declared an enforceable, mandatory travel ban beginning at 6.

My kids had school today. Probably the only school in all of NY that was open. Then they sent them home two hours later.

I'm already dreading it. I lost power last week during those high winds. No power=no running water or heat. I have checked into hotels in the past when it's been out too long.

Are you in the storm?

I'm used to big snowstorms but this one is off the charts. 10 inches in 24 hours is business as usual but we have gotten 10 inches in the past 5 hours and they are predicting 3-4 feet!

awww I personally love that if I have utilities ... I start cooking and baking! I feed the birds, clean out closets, read a book ...

Ours is for 4.

News is stating that the official snowfall for my town so far is 37"! It didn't start until 7am so that's in 16 hours and it's still snowing hard. This is insane.

Holy crap.

We even have on winter coats on down here.

I remember a few years ago needing to dig dog paths. The snow was going to stick around for a while so I actually dug them a maze through the back yard to run around in.

I have a big dog but when I opened the door for her to go out last night, she just stopped and looked at me like I was nuts.

I'm just noticing that part of my bedroom ceiling is cracked and about to collapse. It's only about a 2 sq foot area but I have a call in to my insurance adjuster. That is a good indicator that the roof is leaking.
