If input is welcomed..
How about this..there were a lot of awards put forward by people in apc's topic (if I remember well). Maybe a month before the awards start we can make a topic for anyone to submit any type of award they'd like to see, with the condition it's not just imagination but also they want to nominate someone for that award in the official ceremony. Because a lot of awards sound cool until you realize there's no one you can think of.
Then make a survey, list all the awards proposals and people can vote for as many as they like. Voting by username (so we can annoy the mofos who think of futuristic awards but wouldn't vote in them). Then those awards that get half the votes get put forward for the official awards. You'd make sure categories would be covered by more than 5-6 nominations.
