Food you absolutely can't deal with

I myself am the opposite of a picky eater. I like almost all foods, and sometimes feel the more exotic the better. Though there is a tiny list of foods I don't like for some reason. Tell me what foods you just can't deal with, and why.

First for me is sweet potato. I want to like this, but no matter how it's made I just can't. I don't like sweet potato fries, casserole, or baked. It seems every year I try to force myself to eat it because I want to love it, but I simply don't.

Second is coleslaw. I actually love every single ingredient in coleslaw, but for some reason when it's all combined I just hate it. Like my body wants to reject it for some reason.

With those being said I like foods like oysters, liver, and even anchovies. Though things like anchovies I don't eat in abundance. It's like an occasional snack I like to eat one at a time. Same with things like umeboshi, or even limburger cheese. I love stuff with an intense pungent taste. Yet I hate normal foods like sweet potato or coleslaw.

What is your taste in foods like?

lol growing up, my dad would show me these documentaries of starving kids in poor countries so i trained myself to eat pretty much anything that was put in front of me lol 😅

but there’s one thing i just couldn’t overcome.

soggy ass bread lol 😂

like i can’t stand it when restaurants put fresh watery tomatoes in sandwiches and make the bread soggy cuz to me, bread has no business being wet lol 😂 i hate the texture of wet bread. it’s nasty af lol 😂 summer pudding, tiramisu, sandwiches with watery vegetables in it (tomatoes, lettuces etc) should be a crime lol 😂

french toast is alright only if it’s crispy on the outside lol otherwise no. get it off my plate lol

KFC coleslaw sometimes reminds me of throw up so i get what you mean there 😅 lol anything with too much mayonnaise reminds me of throw up (sorry to anyone who is fond of KFC coleslaw 😅) vinegar based coleslaws taste better than mayo based ones.

My moon in Taurus likes almost everything 🌝

The things I don’t like are egg whites, not keen on liver or the look of tripe although I’ve never tried it. Most other things I love 😋😃

When my parents were dating my dad came over to my mom’s parents house to pick her up for a date. Her mom was cooking tripe and my dad couldn’t stand the smell. He told my mom he’d wait for her outside!🤣 That apparently ruined it for him and he would never try it. My mom says it’s so delicious and apparently her family ate it all the time growing up as they lived on a farm. I’ve never tried it. 🤣

Intestines, escargot. 🤮

I actually got escargot in a can once. I didn't like it at all, but still ate it so it didn't go to waste. People claimed it was similar to an oyster, but more earthy. I disagree with that statement. I would try it again though, of properly prepared from a high rated restaurant. The idea of eating snails is kind of weird, but I would try again. If I still didn't like it from a highly rated restaurant, I'd cross it off the list of foods I'd eat again.

This is actually a hot take, and it's not something I hate. It's simply something I'm not a huge fan of. If someone made it for me, I'd happily eat it, but it's not something I'd order from a menu, or have cravings for. That is all pasta, and anything with red sauce on it. Other than lasagna, which is one of my favorite foods. I'm 1/4 Italian too, so my ancestors are likely shunning me in the afterlife. I'm not a huge fan of spaghetti, or anything alfredo influenced. Not sure why. Stuff like ramen or any type of noodle dish from Asian culture is another story. I could eat that all day.

I'm a very picky eater. The dislike outweighs the like of food for me as strange as that sound. But the foods that gotta go is grits and beets. Can't stand those two. The worst foods of them all for me.

Sounds to me like that you dont like food in general. Or is that an unfair thing to say?

Actually no it's not an unfair thing to say. I can see why you think I don't like food in general. I might need to clarify what I mean. There's more food I don't like than foods I do like. There's tons of foods I don't like and there's probably only thousands that i do like. I can't list them all cus it'll take my whole day so I only listed two.

Gross 🤮
Processed meat are considered carcinogens and eating them increases your cancer risk.

Yea most cold cuts are in that category, but this is next level and I'm not sure how they pass it off as food tbh. It's 'meat flavoured' so no idea what the actual contents are ew, completely repulsive.

Here in the US it's absolutely the worst. The craziest part is people rather pay $ 15 for a half pound of processed turkey when you could by an entire turkey for about $ 20, and have 5 times the lunch meat. Not to mention rendering the bones into bone broth. Consumerism is so bad here. I remember seeing a small cup of watermelon cubes for $ 8, where the whole melons were going for 4. It's ridiculous.

Hot foods without flavor.

Spicy is nice as it has flavor.

I don't do tripe or any other cut of meat like that.

Can't do low wuality dairy products anymore. Which sucks I loved eggnog....age has started to effect my digestion 🥲

Last few years hamburger meat has become unappitizing. Not exactly repulsed but something in me says no to hamburger meat. Maybe just a America thing( our poor regulations leads to scary low quality), I consciously know what exactly is in it and it's horrible for you on many levels.

My big one is Tomatoes. I like tomatoe sauce and ketchup but not a whole tomatoe. I don't like them in my salads. I don't like them on my sandwiches. And I don't like them chopped up in anything else. I've tried a few times over the years to see if my taste for them has changed, but no.

Salmon. I really wish I liked this fish cause I know it's healthy, but I don't. I think I even have a slight food allergy to it too.

Salt - i don't like overly salty food. I rarely cook with it at home (maybe a pinch) I don't like salted pretzels. The stuff actually burns my tongue. I don't understand how people can douse everything with salt.

Those are my big 3. I used to not eat steak but I think my taste for that has changed over the years.
