Guys have a tendency to imagine a woman is interested in them when they're the ones who are interested in her. When their hormones are triggered they become delusional.
I remember many years ago there was this guy who worked at the breakfast cafe at my old job. He would constantly stare at me, smiling, and me trying to be nice I'd just smile back and keep it moving.
One day while I'm trying to enjoy my breakfast in peace, the guy leaves from behind the counter and sits down at the table with me.
I was in mid-chew and stopped and stared at him like "what the fuck are you doing?" He smiles and says "I've noticed how you look at me" etc etc, but in reality I had absolutely no attraction to him whatsoever.
I told him that I wasn't interested and long story short, he got pissy and left my table and never again smiled at me after that. And that's not the first time I've had a guy think I was interested when I totally wasn't.
