Because they have a hole inside, and think that somehow they can fill it by continuing on their self destructive path.
An anonymous, lightly moderated forum makes them feel "safe", and that they have some sort of power.
It's an illusion, but for those you talk about it is apparently a better thing to live the illusion than face and accept reality.

Given how flawed we are as human beings, I'd say that we are all naturally prone to feeling hatred...it's /acting out/ on it in the /most extreme way/ that's wrong.
The feeling of hatred is just as natural as the feeling of love or the feeling of aliveness.
These are extremes that we all go through at one point or another.
However, hatred can be /untaught/, but never permanently diminished.
Can you imagine living in a world where happiness was the norm? You should read "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas."
Pain and hatred are two distinct things.
If we did not know pain, we would not be able to grow or know what we are truly capable of. What makes you think pain, sadness, and hate are completely unnecessary? You act as if these are things that most people /choose/ to feel when that's not the case. Life is completely unpredictable and, whether you believe it or not, cruelly indifferent.
We ALL go through those emotional extremes. If you don't then the problem you should be concerned about is yourself.
Without experiencing pain, how can you go about sympathizing with those who endure the loss of a loved one for instance?
