Is being non-vegetarian immoral?

Posted by Capmercury87Yes true. Funny how what started as our need for survival has turned to greed for materialism.
"funny how almost all my friends are against animal cruelty but still eat meat"
Yes.
If you can find a meat processing or meat farm in which the animals are taken care of and even killed with integrity let me know.

Posted by DreamyboySorry but that's not right. You should think from your conscience and answer. Saying someone else is doing something and so should you is the worst thing. You cannot condone killing of animals and then call yourself a victim when they attack you.
No way. Buddhist monks eat meat as well

does it matter? let them be immoral

Posted by JuliietteAnd had a pet Grizzly
no. there's cruelty everywhere in every field, on humans too lol, so the only non hypocrites would be someone who lives in the woods, and made everything by their own hands.

Posted by ShadowcatPrice of meat is cheaper than vegetables is mostly due to the economic policies being adopted to subsidize meat and due to the high demand. Not because of any production problem.
You do realize that a lot of people can't afford to be vegetarians, right?

Posted by LadyNeptuneDo you have such a high sense of entitlement to say that they just exist for our consumption? Yes we have made use of them for our consumption and have adopted unethical means to increase their supply to feed our demand for meat. But that does not mean they are there just for our consumption.
Those animals exist for human consumption. Their purpose is literally to be grown and slaughtered for our substanance.
If your a vegan your technically doing harm to animals still. Seeing as the crop lands growing your veggies had to be cleared and the homes of the animals that lived there destroyed.
Unless you grow your own food and it goes farm to table.
But like julliete pointed out, do you own clothes? Do you own a car? Home furnishings? Shoes?
Difficult to play the moral high ground when child labor made those Nike’s on your feet...

Posted by The_Mad_Hatterhttps://www.quora.com/in/Why-are-vegetables-in-the-U-S-more-expensive-than-meatPosted by Capricorn91Not true at all... crop farmers receive the most subsidies in all of agriculture. Crop farmers also suffer the most due to mother nature. Frost in Florida causes the oranges to die, driving up the cost to consumers due to lack of supply. An abundance of animals can influence crop production - most areas have what is called a crop deprevation tag for hunters to thin the population of crop destroying animals.Posted by ShadowcatPrice of meat is cheaper than vegetables is mostly due to the economic policies being adopted to subsidize meat and due to the high demand. Posted by DreamyboyHey even am from there. But we worship cows and can't even think of killing them. But i wanted to know from the perspective of conscience. Maybe it's normal for you but idk why I feel it's not right.
Also, part of my culture is from Southeast Asia, Indo-China, or whatever you want to call it. We and my family have slaughtered our own cows, chicken, and pigs for consumption. I find it completely normal and we use almost every part of the animal.

Posted by DreamyboyYes I am from India. Yes I know most people from other Asian countries have meat as their main diet. And even here a lot of people are meat eaters I don't judge anyone on that. It's just when you think that a life is getting killed for your consumption and you won't be willing to do that yourself I feel it's morally wrong(not applied to you). But yeah everyone has their opinions and beliefs and no no one is less of a man since they eat meat. And i started thinking about these things since Saturn has been on me.Posted by Capricorn91If you worship cows, then I’m assuming you’re Indian descent. Part of my family’s cultural background is from Laos and the people of Lao, or most of Southeast Asia are not vegetarian. We slaughter our own animals, rear them for food, as well as use their blood for food. I’ve grown up this way as long as I can remember and see nothing wrong with it at all. I also don’t think I’m immoral at all. I grew up Buddhist when I was younger and probably am one of the nicest and friendliest guy you could meet.Posted by DreamyboyHey even am from there. Posted by DreamyboyMeat is allowed in my family. We don't have any restrictions on that. Both areas eat meat. Both have their own speciality in the way of preparing meat. I would make tuna melt but have no tomatoes! Do you think veggies cry when you run knife into their juicy bodies?
Saladworks chain should be ashamed!
How DARE do they do that! Mitulating veggies? A sin! I mean their $ $ $ for salads...lmao
recently some scientists proved that vegetables "cry" when we cut them. they make some fluid that is toxic but not enough for humans.click to expand
