Micheal Jackson

I just saw a documentary on Micheal Jackson and while i dont think he is a paedophile, i think he is a compulsive lier. I mean, he swears the only plastic surgery he has had is his nose, come on... And the compulsive lier bit, i don't think he means bad by it, i think he is so lost in his little dream world he doesn't know what is what. I actually think though that he is right when he says we (the world) need to 'bond' together in order to solve our problems and that children these days do not have enough love. He swears he is only providing the love for children that their parents do not give them. Wow, he is such an enigma.

He also said he was abused and put down by his father but im not sure whether to believe it or not. Weird.

I taped the show last night but will watch it as soon as I leave here. I caught bits last night and all I saw was a sad, mentally ill person who is way too soft for a world such as this. I would believe his abuse was real, how else could you explain it! While he has some great ideals (we probably all share them), he should descend from fantasy land. He is in such a great position of power that if he 'joined the real world' some REAL positive changes may occur.

Why does he have to descend from his world that he has created? He, like so many other preformers, have given themselves and their talent to the world for our enjoyment and has shared himself and his wealth and done so much and they have been picked over by the public and the people that are suppose to protect them, and all they owe anyone is what they have already shared with us...their talent. What more do you want? They dont owe you or anybody anything. I appreciate his talent, same with Whintney, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe etc...you dont know them or where they have been or what they have been through, so where do you get off saying he doesnt do enough. Cast your disparities on people; but I tell you what, you will never come close to doing what he has done in his short life. All I see is another loser heckling and slandering a perfectly decent human being.

This is an opinion board. That means that we don't call other people who we don't know, "losers" just because their opinion differs from yours.

Lawgoddess and Libragirl have every right to express their opinion; what gives you the right to be so judgemental of them?

Hi Phoenix...don't stress over it. Soshy probably harbours some strange sexual attraction to a man who chooses to mutilate himself. Oh and by the way, I don't believe I stated that he owed anyone anything. I merely made the suggestion that instead of practicing what he preaches within his own little box he has created for himself, he could become more proactive rather than him himself passing judgements on the world at large as being such a bad place. And soshy, sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me!

He is talented, famous, loved by many, has done quite alot in the way of social responsibility, and you want to pick him apart because YOU deem him strange or odd looking. Well, your not exactly a playboy bunny(saw your pic) your not even a hare. You look like a witch to me. OK, now maybe if you had some talent or were gifted that might make you a more balanced person, but your not or you wouldnt be on a messgaeboard putting down the ones that are talented, and loved by many!!! Thriller was incredible and he was the cuted young artist I have ever had the pleasure of growing up with! Yes, I have a crush on him! The cat is out of the bag.....damn!

How does it feel to have someone describe how you appear to them? (in a honest but not so flattering way.) Maybe it is just a matter of preference. There are all types of people in this world. How about judging someone as MLK Jr. asked us to do. The world would be alot less pathetic. Character is what matters.

I think you are being just a little hypocritical here. But I won't argue with about it because I don't feel like it (honesty). I believe character is very important and I don't think Michael Jackson has done nearly enough for people considering the amount of money he has. I saw something on tv last night (don't know if it was part of what you guys are talking about) and he was spending millions of dollars in a shopping spree. I won't single out him though since most people of his stature in the entertainment do the same thing. I grant him his obvious talent and the hard work he had to do to get himself there.

BTW, Gwen, what do you do with your money? I want to know. I think I am entitled to know what you do with your money and your life!!! I think you waste too much time on this board, when you can be out doing much more for people that need help. You dont need money to help out others. You see it only from your perspective, when all you really need to worry about, is what you yourself is doing. If you are so concerned about social responsibility then YOU do something and let others alone. People that give, do so from the heart not just to make themselves look good.

Don't point fingers, soshy. I'm 17 and finishing my last year of high school and my first year of college in one. I work hard in my college library for $ 6 an hour and all the money is going towards my education. I'm from a poor household so I know what it is like not to have that which many people take for granted. I don't even own a workable computer-I go online from my college computer room. The time I spend on this board are breaks between writing research papers. I spend as much time as I possibly can helping others. Every weekend I spend two hours teaching people how to use the internet and computers so that they can get decent jobs and soon I'll be volunteering to help cooking a dinner for unwed/abused mothers. My point is, you don't know me, my beliefs, and what my ambitions in life are.

soshy-whether you are or aren't, it doesn't matter to me but I'll be honest. Suzy-Q and you (so far) have very strong opinions-nothing against that- but you seem to crush others opinions at the same time. If someone doesn't agree with you, don't take it as a personal insult.

Once again, its nobodies business!!! Cant you figure that out. Why are you going to school? Im assuming so you can get educated and get a good job and make money and live well. What you do with YOUR money, is your business. People work so they can have things, right? Come on and get real.

People that are loaded and go on 4 million dollar spending sprees could be a couple of reasons. He is buying presents for alot of other people, or he is filling a giant hole in his own life. I admire him he, because he is so damn talented and a I have watched him since he was a 5 year old baby and it hurts my heart to see a constant attack of him. Every treetrunking day it is something rude about him...it is a wonder he hasnt killed himself like so many other talented celebs. I just cant stand it. They dont owe us anything except sharing with us their gift. For God's sake leave people alone. He is not a mean person or a bad person he has done nothing but entertain people all his life and that is it. He is a sweet human being who is demonized for NO reason.

soshy... you still ASSUME you know me and what I want in life and that my desires are exactly the same as the majority of people out there in America. What I want to do with my life is help people and that is more than most people. My only wish for money comes from the fact that without money it is damned hard to help-not just to help others financially but to be able to have the free time that will allow me to help. I am NOT going to school for a job- that is a mistake most people make. After I graduate I am probably going to join the Peace Corps, not much of a future or money-making job through that. I find you are overly pessimistic and materialistic and think everyone agrees with you.

Good for you. Not everyone wants to do what you do and that is ok! Not everybody wants help. And if they do there are plenty of people who do this and dont feel the need to tell everyone and toot their own horn. As a matter of fact, it would be out of character for a truly caring person to do that. I dont feel you are the caring person you pretend say you are. Back to the subject of poor Michael. At the young age that he became a celebrity, he had no choice in the matter. But, once a person consciously makes the choice to be a celebrity and be in the public eye, they are also making a choice to be criticized (by critics and by the public). Not all criticism is bad...
Anyway, he was a has-been when he made Thriller...it just happened to be popular (among the critics and the public). Michael knows he is a has-been. He is not stupid. Weird, yes. Stupid, no. That is why he bought the rights to all of those Beatles songs and refuses to sell them to Paul McCartney.
Michael could have chosen to sing in the church choir and not seek fame and fortune (and everything that goes with it) once he was out of the house of his parents...but, that is not what he chose to do...so, he must accept his plight...along with his fame and dwindling fortune. The boy is losing money...each year, he makes less and if he continues to spend like he does...(his playground costs a fortune just to maintain it!), he will someday be in dire financial straits. Luckily, he knows some rich people!

Wow, Star, what an interesting insight into Michael. I suppose there is always that illusion that when someone has 'money' it is there to stay but this is not always the case.

Wow...all I can say is, Michael Jackson really saddens me now. I guess that special on him aired in the U.K. on Monday. We just got it here in the U.S. on like Thursday I think. I can't remember if it was last night or the night before.

It saddens me so much to see what he's become because he was my first "superstar" crush when I was little, I idolized him...had the posters and the magazines and the cassette tapes. lol. He used to be so cool, and good looking, and now...frankly I'm highly disturbed by his strange/irresponsible actions as a "father". It seems to me like he paid some women off to have babies for him...did you notice how bad he was shaking holding his new baby? Oh my god, if I was that interviewer it would take everything in me not to alert child protective services. Seriously, it goes beyond being an "eccentric" at this point. I truly believe he has mental problems. I agree with the interviewer that Michael is having a really hard time deep down with the fact that his Billie Jean days are over. As far as his plastic surgery, it seems very obvious to me that he bold-faced lied about the number of surgeries he's had (he claims it's only 2, but COME ON, how stupid would we be to believe him?) on camera. You know, he would come off in a lot better light if he would just say, "yes I've had plastic surgery, no it's none of your business how many, and some of the results have pleased me and some of them have not." Why does he have to lie? It just makes him look even worse, especially since he's a very transparent liar.

Oh, it really does make me sad. I looked up to him so much as a kid.
