And don't bully him. He'll use everything you've said against you. He might also file a case against you or report you to the authorities.

So why not just either:
A) let it go because you don't know his personal information and can't confirm his family has any involvement in illegal activities.
B) Turn what info you do have into the proper authorities if you truly feel there is a strong enough reason to believe they are involved in illegal activities and let them perform a proper investigation.
I'm not a lawyer, but isn't implying someone is involved in criminal activity on a public forum libel?

What he's doing to me is online libel. My purpose for bringing these things up is not libelous. Something libelous is something coupled with the intent to besmirch the person. My purpose for bringing these things up is to tell you people not to trust the dude.
Let me read to you the Rule on Confidentiality here in the Philippines:
Rule 15.02.- A lawyer shall be bound by the rule on privileged communication in respect of matters disclosed to him by a prospective client.
1. I was not yet a lawyer when he consulted me.
2. The rule on privileged communication is limited only to matters disclosed by the client, and not by matters he did not disclose.

same if he were to become a psychiatrist. I was reading about that, that client/doctor confidentiality.
i can't imagine if a psychatrist went online and blurted out someone's private information on their head issues and personal traumas.

To be clear, I did it as a friend, not as a lawyer. If I did it as a lawyer, I would've charged him. I wasn't even a lawyer then so it's basically out of the rule's ambit.

Lawyers don’t turn their clients to authorities! They stand up for murderers trying to prove that victim asked to be killed and it’s all victims fault!

Bruh, you don't become a Lawyer to bring Justice. You are nothing more than a balancer/mediator. You are the counterforce to the people accusing your client, you have 1 job and you can't even get that right.You're supposed to prove them innocent regardless of whether or not they are. It's not perfect but it's scientific, if the other side can't prove him guilty more so then... That's their fault for not having a better case against him.
Most Lawyers I know bluntly say to not tell them anything that would automatically bust your ass. They explicitly tell you to keep the truth secret if you're guilty. You are just the worst Lawyer ever.

Just tell him it's confidential; he'll understand you.
But keeping secrets from him is a huge blunder. Better lie next time, just be sure not to be caught up later on.
