Posted by SofiaV87Well, I enrolled in the most prestigious law school in the Philippines in 2009 (University of the Philippines, Harvard's counterpart in the country) but, you know, I don't have good reading comprehension so I wasn't able to graduate. I only needed 3 points, though, to pass one critical subject so I can continue on.
Oh wow 8 years in the making , how exciting ! Good luck !!

Posted by MyStarsShineunlimited chances, starlover! But I hope I make it this time. Posted by firebunnyU have worked very hard , I'm sure u are so proud ! I transferred to Far Eastern University and there I shined. I always landed among the top 3 students and was an academic scholar for one sem. In 2013, my parents noticed how I neglected my health so they asked me to transfer again to a local school (at that time, I was admitted to intern for the Office of Solicitor General where it's difficult to get accepted due to very tight competition).
In 2015, I finally graduated from Aquinas University. My grades would've made me qualify to get latin honors but they refused to give me even academic distinction because I was a mere transferree.
Later that year, I took the bar exams but I was ill-prepared and was not in my best condition as I was taking medications that was giving me insomnia. I recorded 35 sleepless nights that year so my memory weakened. I was planning not to pursue taking the exams that year but I changed my mind because I wanted to experience how it is to take the exams and just take it the 2nd time around in case I fail.
On the last subject, I was thinking that there's no way I will pass because of my condition so I didn't finish the exam with 12 points unanswered only to find out later on that I would've passed if only I finished it. I got an average grade of 74.65% .
In 2016, I took the exams again but with better confidence and no more insomnia. I hope I make it this time!click to expand

Posted by lisabethur8I still don't know. I want to specialize in Corporate Law. It's my favorite subject and I find it easy... but I also want to continue living in Legazpi. Sadly, there's not much demand for corporate lawyers here. For that, I need to work in Manila, a city I want to avoid because of traffic, pollution and overcrowding! 😢Posted by firebunnyoh what type of lawyer you gonna be??Posted by lisabethur8no. Posted by firebunnyI'm doing both too.. .but they are exclusive... I can't practice both simultaneously. I can either be an auditor or a corporate lawyer. Posted by TeenaAs an auditor, you will only encounter numbers and figures - so it can get a little dizzy and boring.Posted by firebunnyI'm doing both too.. .but they are exclusive... Posted by firebunnyI agree. Corporate lawyers are also different from regular lawyers. We are like in-house legal experts and compliance officers of the company and chief advisors to the BOD.. Help to incorporate companies and their Public Issue and listing. Definitely more interesting things to do. It would be more fun n less stressful than being an auditor tbh. But here, though both are equally tough, Auditor course is more prestigious. I may complete both and end up not taking up either as career though ?Posted by TeenaAs an auditor, you will only encounter numbers and figures - so it can get a little dizzy and boring.Posted by firebunnyI'm doing both too.. .but they are exclusive... Posted by TeenaYou have to choose! If auditor is more prestigious then go for it! Here in the Philippines, it's more prestigious to be a lawyer. 🙂Posted by firebunnyI agree. Posted by firebunnyI got that when you mentioned it took you longer to complete law than CPA. Lawyers, though passed out from the most prestigious Universities , are still ranked below Auditors n Corporate lawyers here. They are the most toughest courses n usually ranked along with doctors here.It is so even in India. So it works if at all I move to India sometime as well. But I'm not looking for more prestigious course.Earning has never been my priority either. I can see myself in the corporate field than do ass work like auditors. It goes with my personality ?..but as I said, I may totally choose to do something totally different from both of these 😄 ?Posted by TeenaYou have to choose!
