Wtf do you do

With someone who constantly talks AT you?

You're having a convo, or at least you think you are, and they just talk to talk and aren't even really paying much attention to any of your responses or your part. Just barrel on through with what they want to talk about, blah blah.

You could literally check out and they would be content with just talking to them self, it seems.

After awhile, it starts to get a little grating. :/

My sag friend and I didn't get along at first because she would constantly do this..

I'm a listener first so I don't mind if you wanna talk your head off... but if youre gonna cut me off for the little bit I'll actually talk... No way.

She would cut me off.. Interrupt me.. Drag the convo back to her..

At one point.. I had enough I told her flat..She looked embarrassed at first and then apologized & admitted that she's been told before but she doesn't notice when she does so. ?

Now.. everytime she does it.... Yea nothings changed ?..... I cut her off and I say 25cents... That's her cue to stfu and letting me finish talking!!

Depends how much you value the person... You gotta speak up.. You'll soon find out if they genuinely don't realize doing it.. Or if they simply don't care.

I think why it unsettles me so much because it's like "what exactly do you see in others that you think this is okay?" Being aware or not, it's like are you that self absorbed that you just see an individual as someone to talk at? Like some interactive wall that will entertain your thoughts? But you can't be bothered in return? Dafuq is wrong with you?

Can you top the fact that while the non stop blubber is being spewed out.... there are only about 5 "strories/conversations" that get turns at least 3 times during the encounter...but with a slight variation each time it's being told?

I think that's exactly what it is... an interactive

(at their discretion) wall off of which they can

get either personal catharsis (sort out their

thoughts), or just let loose with stream of

consciousness because it feels good, the ill-

mannered louts. :/

I'm only guilty of this if I have a few drinks in me lol. Otherwise I get fidgety and uncomfortable with people who will not stop talking about themselves and are having a one-sided conversation. I start looking around for a means to escape.

But mostly I'm a good listener, and do that much more than talking, so it takes a lot to get me to the point where I need to get away from them.

My Gemini friend does this.. At first I would sit there & listen, when he paused, I would try to get a word in edge wise and he'd just start talking & get loud to talk over me so he could keep talking.. LOL

Now, I just get loud when he does til he shuts up so I can speak! 😛

My Mom does this. 😆 I wait then ask "What's your deal?"

I had few encounters of the sort. If you want to end listening to the monologue on good terms, you walk away. If you had enough and want them out of your life, you tell the hard truth in their face. There is no light remedy for them.

There is a lighter type, the one who bores you to death, and you just end up feeling empty. The other type, the commander, who requires attention and looks you straight in the eyes while disposing of the garbage, is much more dangerous, cause those can really piss you off and the fight is possible in case you object to be their litter bin.

I think the latter is in need of professional help, it's narcissism at its finest. Dangerous, energy draining, modern vampires.

My Gemini and Aries teammates do this and myself, the Pisces and Scorpio just watch it happen.

It's kind of funny to just see them trying to talk over each other. The Aries literally only ever talks about herself...one person will mention something and it's back to her..

After watching it, we just start to do things.. or walk away.. lol It's not like the Aries will listen to anyone anyway. At one point we have all told her to stop interrupting and listen.. ??

Tell them! They're be embarrassed and hopefully notice when you start to zone out!

Ugh, I know an Aries who does this.

He's constantly yelling "full steam ahead!" and "are we having fun yet?!"

I hand them a mirror and then just turn around and walk away.

My boss does this.

I deal with this the same way I always do. I stop him, middle of his sentence. Literally put my hand up, and say "stop". If that doesn't work, I literally slap my hands as I say stop until he does. Then I tell him that he isn't listening, because he is too busy thinking of what he wants to say next. After that, I tell him to listen, repeat my statement. Cause most of the time, he is arguing a point that I have an answer to, but he isn't listening to what I am saying. I get frustrated repeating myself.

I know a Gemini lady with a Taurus mercury who's like that. word. when I see her I turn the other way cuz she talk too damn much for my likings. I guess I'm the only Gemini who doesn't really like talking much huh. and to make matters even worse I have my moon in Gemini too.

It's situational and varies between 1. playing a game on my phone. 2. saying something non offensive, but something I know will shut them up or 3. actually telling them I don't care.
