It really all depends on who you are arguing with.
If one is arguing with a person worth talking to, then civil responses are in good order.
However, if one is arguing with human garbage, then it's no holds barred. Metaphorically speaking, multiple roundhouse kicks to the face are definitely appropriate.
It's all about who one is forced to argue with.

Obviously if people reported the thread they won’t come forward. But I also know there’s a dxp discord server and I could very well believe all the people there organized a mass reporting of the thread to fuck with @TopSecret.

Like I just said in the comments if I thought people were ganging up on someone I’d defend them and I have defended people I don’t agree with when I felt it was unfair.
But there is literal proof that he’s lying because I’ve deleted threads before and what shows up for him is exactly how they’ve looked for me after I’ve done it.
I’ve seen user deleted threads too and every time I saw them it said “thread deleted by user”. The screenshot posted did not say that. That’s why I think mass-reporting can trigger an auto-delete that doesn’t delete all the posts involved.

I think perhaps you should read the tone of some of his opening posts in his threads, it's all there in black and white. TBh i avoid most of his threads, he isn't willing to listen to what others have to say unless it's to agree with him, at least is what i have seen over the years. He lights the fire, others pour gasoline on it. I just stay in my lane and go to threads i would find more entertaining.

Did you see his post in this thread calling me a liar? I’ve never said I live in a condo. I live in townhouse style apartments on a golf course, and I’ve clarified it several times. But he continues to say I called it a condo.
I’ve posted evidence of my volunteer work in a billing office, and he still said I was lying about my purpose and capabilities in that office.
I did post a link to GC’s employer, because I thought it was a funny video of trailer trash shinanigans. I’ve specified my intent wasn’t for ppl to dox her (something I don’t think they could do anyways), but he still insists that’s what my goal was.
You either have to be severely ignorant to ignore the person who you’re attacking’s side of the story, or out to cause damage.

It doesn't always happen all at once. Eventually in some way the exact thing they gained or created will be destroyed in the same sense. Those who followed it will be the ones to suffer. What they made will be forgotten or destroyed, and everyone else will have the benefit of learning from it.
If arguing is work related or something that deeply matters, then you definitely don't want to be quite and say nothing. Though I consider anything worth arguing over secretly worthless.

I don't know how to build a game or points system.
I'm thinking there'll be cards to be used. Like an Interference card, if one debater has another ally on their side they'd like to call in to the debate at any time. And that costs the fighter -1 point.
Then you need positive point actions. There could be a Near Finish card when someone makes a damn good argument that takes the other side over a day to come back on.
In this part I'm just spitballing and throwing out ideas.

The only thing I'd stipulate is we can't ever build the game around chump topics.
It has to be strictly Your Money or Your Life topics. Issues where everyone can feel like they have a stake in it.
Cos the whole point of the competition is who can be the voice of people who'd otherwise feel like they can't open up on sensitive topics that they're dealing with IRL.
As always, if you can built the game engine, I can build all the graphics.
I don't think we can build the game around our own topics cuz it might be too contrived and most will feel like chump topics
But I do think maybe guidelines. Some of the arguments here get too fringe crazy

I'm thinking there'll be cards to be used. Like an Interference card, if one debater has another ally on their side they'd like to call in to the debate at any time. And that costs the fighter -1 point.
Then you need positive point actions. There could be a Near Finish card when someone makes a damn good argument that takes the other side over a day to come back on.
In this part I'm just spitballing and throwing out ideas.
It'd definitely take a referee or two to carry it to final decision. As long as the rules of the game apply to the refs, too.

but when it’s in public then page 2 or 3 of any fight derails into saving face. then you just end up points scoring for no real reason. it comes off cheap like your heart wasn’t really in it to begin with.
this is why Carlos’ DXP Light Heavyweight Championship was a great (if short lived) fight club. i think it takes a mind like @AfternoonDelights22 to revive it.
