Where the fuck do you work?
Has that already been asked or addressed?
It was at a Starbucks inside a hospital. So technically I worked for the hospital food department.
If it's a corporation like that, I seriously doubt he can fire you just like that. There are usually a shit ton of hoops to jump through first.
I think that’s why he was pulling us for “disciplinary” conversations yesterday. So on the termination request he could write that he already tried “disciplining” me. Because when I asked for more details on one of the reasons i was fired he was like “that’s in regards to what we talked about earlier today”.
Is there something you're not telling us?click to expand

The manager is working with the staff and since they couldn't just fire you, instead if i read the thread correctly you were given probation (which is another term for "you'd be fired but the laws says we can't do it just like that") and then they set you up with this as the final straw.

Nooooo. In the USA, when you first start working somewhere you are automatically put on a 90 day probation, which means they can fire you for no reason. Yes, I was legitimately fired. They have excuses and when I poked holes in them they told me it’s within 90 days so they don’t need an excuse.click to expand

You should be embarrassed you tried to be nice to these sheltered babies.
I mean I bet that chick just said she ho to sound cool.
You mentioned it and then she tried to one up or be like u.
That’s what happens.
Then they get u weak cuz they laugh and u should of called them lame then instead of cried.
Because they just want to compete.
New girl might be better and get more tips or more flirty guys.
You’re in the age of bitchy women who have big egos and nothing to offer.
Just make frievds with the guys.

Nooooo that “disciplinary” conversation was the one I recorded. On the sheet of paper they presented while firing me they wrote “subpar job performance” and when I asked about it my manager was like “uhhhhh ummm well that’s in regards to what we talked about earlier, not getting along with *supervisor in training*”. In my mind I was like “idk how that pertains to my job making drinks for people”.click to expand

I can’t completely recall how the conversation started, but I could’ve swore she was the one who mentioned hoe activities so I just went along with it. But maybe she started that convo so she could feel like she was more desirable than me (she is overweight with small titties). I guess I could see the competition aspect, especially considering this dude she friend zoned started hitting on me in front of her 😬😬
I did try to call them lame but they were like “life isn’t about partying”.click to expand

You would have had to sign something if it was really a disciplinary meeting.click to expand

How does this have to do with trusting people?
How did you just not know better than to do some stupid high school shit at work?
Because I thought this libra chick was my friend and therefore trusted her not to set me up like that.
Is it high school shit? I wouldn’t know; I got my GED and went straight to college.click to expand

Again, this is not about trusting anyone. This is about poor choices.
How does this....
"I was called first and the libra was like “you should secretly record you getting in trouble...for learning purposes...and then send it to me”."
....sound like a remotely good idea?
Nobody held a gun to your head....you ran with it for laughs. It wasnt funny at all.
Sure, they are cuntknuckles. However, that doesnt change the fact you made a dumb choice and *that* is what you need to work on....trusting yourself....not others.click to expand

That recording was a one-on-one correct? And he gave you permission to record, correct?
Did he give you permission to distribute that recording to other members of the staff?
Also what I'm getting from your dismissal was the manager is claiming that you're not a teamplayer. "Not getting along with supervisor in training" is considered insubordination.
“idk how that pertains to my job making drinks for people”. - in the service industry, falling in line with management is correlated to level of service to customers. I am not sure what happened in the day to day but the manager was definitely assessing you the entire time.

I mean, when I sent it to the group chat I trusted it would stay between us. Though when she first mentioned it I was thinking this is sketch. I guess I just felt reassured when she said it was learning purposes. And she didn’t mention sending it to her until after I got the recording, so I figured it was only gonna be for my ears when I hit the ‘record’ button. I didn’t wanna be the buzzkill when her and the Gemini told me to send it to them. I guess I do have to work on my boundaries.
I understand that ultimately it was my responsibility, and next time I should think more about people’s intentions.click to expand

By the end of the day, after closing down Starbucks my manager came to talk to me a told me he was notified of the whole recording being sent to a group chat. And then he fired me.
Why am I so stupid? Why do I fall for shit like this all the time?
I haven’t felt this helpless in a looooong time. I love people, but now I feel like I can’t trust anyone ever again.
Too late to cry over spilled milk. Maybe this is WHY I always DVR Judge Judy. States have recording laws (third party) and/or one-on-one, you "ask" if it's okay to record, etc.
You're young. You'll learn by your mistakes. I work for the Army. We in Texas are suppose to ask for consent before we record: Texas's wiretapping law is a "one-party consent" law. Texas makes it a crime to intercept or record any "wire, oral, or electronic communication" unless one party to the conversation consents. Texas Penal Code § 16.02. Look for the laws in your state. You've got a case if it isn't one that asks for consent (50/50); you have a case IF, IF you want to report this to the Labor Department. Good luck.
🤗 cyber hugs!
Love,
Eva
PS: Don't keep kicking yourself on the ass. Continue to TRUST people, but step ASIDE and do your homework (laws) before you actually do something that is: Indecent, immoral, or illegal.
She actually did ask for permission to record. What she got fired for was distributing the recording in the group chat.click to expand

Did she? (let's hear from her if and when she does her "homework" for her state's laws and Labor Department).

You work with backstabbers!
And why was this a fireable offense? Was there something confidential in the meeting? Was the boss being mocked in the group chat?
No! He even told me I had every right to record because nothing private was disclosed. He just said the distributing of the recording was “irresponsible employee behavior as per section 3 of the employee handbook”. I was like “I never read anything about audio recordings in the handbook”, and he was like “oh well we’re going by the old handbook”. I was like ooooook well I wasn’t given that book so how am I supposed to know? And then he was basically like “well you’re still in your 90 day probation period so I can fire you for whatever reason I want”.click to expand
