thanks, mom is okay - she started going to a TCM doctor on the side as well, and it seems to be great for her ...we´re getting there step by step!

Hahah... love how elegantly we just toothed our own horn 😂 I always chuckle when mum or those close to me remark how I have expensive taste. It's true though. Every time I see something that i fancy - it could even be something as simple as fabric at the fabric store- know it will be pricey. However, one thing is certain, I never pay full price for I am a bargain hunter. Which brings me back to flee markets.... I am certain I'd be ecstatic to browse through some of them. 🤌 I do still recall ones in Germany but I was too young then to fully appreciate them.

Regarding taxes and tax returns.... odd, I do not recall filing any tax returns way back when I resided in Germania. Is that a fairly new thing in Österreich or has that always been the case?! I feel like I'm in the twilight zone right now lol

But yes, I do think they intentionally make them so darn convoluted... most ppl I know, myself included, have always done them by a tax office as their is some (false?!) sense of security should IRS decide to give you grief. This year I decided I'll do them myself because I suspected they've (tax office) been shorting me on some items/deductions & when I asked about it, they dismissed me by asserting a certain amount was way lower than it actually is. Anyhoot... I know it's going to take me a while but I'm determined lol 😁 So yes, mače, here's to hoping we indeed get some moolah back 🤞🙏

I'm soo greatly pleased to hear about your mom's improvements! I do firmly believe that positive thinking can aid a great deal in our recovery but that's sometimes, if not often, easier said than done though. I'll be sending positive, support vibes your way 😘

Moving on to Mr Puff-Puff 😁🥰 (I do sincerely apologize should the freedom I took to bestow him with a term of endearment had offended his sensibilities 😅... if it's of any consolation, none of my beasts are called by their official names ...)...where was I!? Oh right.... trust me, love them dearly, but wow...I've lost count to the amount of times I was convinced that there was a secret alliance between Suzie the dog with identity issues and the pack of cats to unceremoniously dispose of me. The only reason I'm still around is so I can clean their boo-boo garden aka cat litter & provide food. But yes, Suzi has become really really hard to deal with sometimes....particularly when I'm cleaning the house. At least the cats disperse in whatever direction when they hear the vaccum, she on the other hand, is always right beside me ..... 😧 That she has developed cataracts doesn't help either. *sighs* I copletey understand and emphatise with you!!! I am yet to find a solution to this behavior. 🤔

Geez woman, you really are on a roll here with your psychic/ telepathic abilities here! I dodnt play lottery often. Once in the blue moon, if that even... but the two numbers I always play when I do are 19 & 27... Haaaa!!! You know what, now I will definitely play those numbers this Suturday .... just for shits and giggles 😃 Just for the record, I really like zee numbers you picked 😁😍💫

A ha! Cheers! Unrelated to anything, love Corwall. Not that I've even been there or anywhere in the UK for that matter, though from what I could gather, it has a rather remarkable coastline and some of the most scenic estuaries!

Heh... my accent is a thick amalgamation of German, Australian, peppered with some US but mostly Slavic accent 😬. Rather perplexing ...so much so, someone just asked me the other day if it was Portuguese lol I wish I spoke any 😆

As far as hearing it goes..... I'd love to oblige but.....

There is a lot of coastline 😅 I went on a trek from here to the end of the coastpath which was about 400 miles in all.

I can confirm there are a lot of beaches, coves, cliffs and seagulls. Also, lots of ice cream stands

I recall you mentioning the undertaking in another thread which I found rather impressive! Did you prep for the journey or was it a split-second decision?! I can only begin to imagine how strenuous yet liberating and enriching the experience must have been! 😻 Hearing you describe it, I'm now even more tempted to experience it for myself. I've always found the tight historical connection between Cornwalls copper mining days and it's subsequent downfall to Michigan and its rise so fascinating! Ocean appart yet soo close.

you have the touch of midas ....good, but expensive!!! but good! hehe. we like beautiful things .....haha reminds me of my bestie sent me a pic of three different cuff link and asked me which one she should get her boyfriend ....well ding ding ding ...bulls eye for the most expensive out of the three. *ROLLSEYES* ima need to play those numbers, too! damnnn. lol. you´re lucky you are in the states though; because thrifting and second-hand is a big and plentiful business over there; over here it´s accepted but not as common. but that is why i love thrift shops. so inspiring.

@TAXes: noooo it´s not new; here is a nice german word: LOHNSTEUERAUSGLEICH (wage tax compensation).

this is because we don´t get gross wages, but netto - everything is deducted automatically (like wage tax, social & health insurance etc), and given annual inflation rates and fluctuations and whatnot usually too much gets deducted and we can claim a sum back every year; it´s always a surprise as to how much you will get; ....the most i ever got back were around € 800,--a couple of years back (nice pocket money!)

in any case; you are gonna get a stubborn streak - in the terms of EJ SAD BAS HOCU! and file those forms, darling. fingers and fins crossed; and by jove, we should be lucky! i will let you know the outcome here lol. takes about a month til it´s processed. gotta love the administration.

Hahah... love how elegantly we just toothed our own horn 😂 I always chuckle when mum or those close to me remark how I have expensive taste. It's true though. Every time I see something that i fancy - it could even be something as simple as fabric at the fabric store- know it will be pricey. However, one thing is certain, I never pay full price for I am a bargain hunter. Which brings me back to flee markets.... I am certain I'd be ecstatic to browse through some of them. 🤌 I do still recall ones in Germany but I was too young then to fully appreciate them.

Regarding taxes and tax returns.... odd, I do not recall filing any tax returns way back when I resided in Germania. Is that a fairly new thing in Österreich or has that always been the case?! I feel like I'm in the twilight zone right now lol

But yes, I do think they intentionally make them so darn convoluted... most ppl I know, myself included, have always done them by a tax office as their is some (false?!) sense of security should IRS decide to give you grief. This year I decided I'll do them myself because I suspected they've (tax office) been shorting me on some items/deductions & when I asked about it, they dismissed me by asserting a certain amount was way lower than it actually is. Anyhoot... I know it's going to take me a while but I'm determined lol 😁 So yes, mače, here's to hoping we indeed get some moolah back 🤞🙏

this is because we don´t get gross wages, but netto - everything is deducted automatically (like wage tax, social & health insurance etc), and given annual inflation rates and fluctuations and whatnot usually too much gets deducted and we can claim a sum back every year; it´s always a surprise as to how much you will get; ....the most i ever got back were around € 800,--a couple of years back (nice pocket money!)

in any case; you are gonna get a stubborn streak - in the terms of EJ SAD BAS HOCU! and file those forms, darling. fingers and fins crossed; and by jove, we should be lucky! i will let you know the outcome here lol. takes about a month til it´s processed. gotta love the administration.

watched an interview with hans zimmer; it was about the soundtrack of "hannibal" and that waltz plays a role; the way he described the blue danube ...one of his favorites, and he closed his eyes while it started playing and he was so smitten by it. you could feel all his passion, apprecition and love for music. zimmer is a virgo i believe.

Nothing happening...all gone quiet. After receiving an email almost 3 wks ago stating the notice of termination was being sent, I’ve not heard anything. I may have to move out of the area and start again as there’s a shortage of rented houses where I live. I feel all at sea (our son moved to the Uk this wk so lots to cope with).

i´m just going to put it out there ....so it was my bday and it´s like any other day to me ...so i went to bed and dreamed of arguing with my mother about who gets served drinks first and i was really upset with her and said "you know i am right!" all of a sudden i was flipping through a magazine and somebody was pointing out the word "Noel" in it ...three times; then i woke up to my father´s voice ....he said my name quite sternly and then did a little whistle (he used to kick me out of bed like that in my teens) 😄 i literally turned around in bed to see where he was.

looking up what the definition of noel means; other than christmas, it can mean birthday or re-birth.

i was quite shooketh there for a moment.

I hope I can use this thread as a place to do a little ranting since this is a thinking kind of thing to say whatever is on our minds. No questions ask just need some place......garsh it's so complicated to type on this phone while I got music jamming on it too but I'll try to concentrate.

Well anyway I employ this Libra dude and I'm kinda concern for his health 😢. First off he's a people's person. I honestly don't know how to tell him that's the reason for his ill fallen health without having him thinking I'm some kind of hater. Like I don't want to set him off. I wanna say he's losing weight because of it. I wanna tell him so bad how bout try being to yourself and see how good you'll feel. Why must libras insist on being a people's person. And good lord talk about talkative. Like why can't they keep quiet. And the poor guy has women problems. He tells me all about them and in my head I'm like oh man come on. But yeah people will have you sick. That's why I'm so grateful to be a loner and don't let people get underneath my skin. So that's what's on my mind right now.
