from what i gathered ....you don´t use chemicals ....so you´re mixing essential oils? how do you go about this? what about deo-sticks? do you make your own?
I blend essential oils either with carrier oil or spring water. The latter i put in a spray bottle
For deo I use a salt one...will go look for an image of it ....
I use this one ...
maybe i will give this a shot one day .....i just don´t want to smell like an esmeralda ...too heavy on the patchouli and what not.
i did look into a certain oil i wanted (melissa/aka lemon balm) ....the price was outrageous. € 25 per ml ....positively shooketh.
so for a while i did use products by lush (specificially their karma line) and then out of convenience switched back to my trusted bottles of EdTs.
Melissa (Lemon Balm) is one of my faves. Tis a very feminine oil. Ive used it a lot to make perfume, blended with rose and geranium is nice or for a more earthy smell sandalwood or patchouli.
You can buy it blended in carrier oil which keeps the cost down, but yes true Melissa is pricey.
okay i will have to give this some more thought....and research.
i think i´d mix it with rosemary/lavender and sandalwood maybe a hint of lily of the valley ...idk.
have you ever read "perfume" by patrick süskind? if not, please do!

Haha 😆 I can’t let you shoulder all the responsibility though because, in all fairness, I tend to go trough my “escape to the countryside” phases every now and then, which includes my reading material 😬. Besides, I might have slightly over-exaggerated with my description in that I converted British country side into the shire itself. Potatoe=Photato 😁
10 books for € 10,- is a pretty sweet deal. Not that it’s a competition by any stretch of imagination but I got 6 hard cover for $ 2,-. I mean seriously, who wouldn’t be enticed!?
The only issue I see here, is my inability to squeeze everything I’d like to accomplish into a 24h frame. I mean, I just spent nearly 2h shoveling the snow night before last where as I could’ve spent that time reading instead. Thankfully there are audio books, however, it’s not the same. I must confess I’m not much of a “audio learner” so the information tends to comes into one ear and fly out of the other lol 😆

It’s still very much early stages of planing and plans at this time are indeed very fluid so it might change. I was also considering so called clerestory roof with the covered deck/porch portion … something along the lines of….

dealing with property is a pain in the ass - either before or after. i just am happy you have a strip of land and a refugium so to speak!
that bridge gave me anxiety from afar .....i dislike heights myself and was told to look down my nose and focus on a point ahead of me ...the brain can be tricked .....and while you´re concentrating on that point ahead you forget your surroundings...(i was told it helps against sea-sickness, too).

I was lucky to have had refinanced my house mortgage for a significantly lower interest rate during the very peak of pandemic which was quite an experience itself. In some ways, the chaos that ensued during the pandemic worked in my favor really.
Oh right, I do try to focus on a point ahead of me and pay the rest no mind but that dang bridge has two middle lanes through which you can see the water below. 😭😭😩 Anyway, I say my 5 Hail Marys before I cross because at that point, ish is out my hands 😂

I know what I’m about to say is kinda already given but it realllly depends on the location. It varies soo incredibly much not just from state to state but from county to county.
For example, where I currently reside is the Eastern side of Michigan on the lake itself and one would be lucky to find a parcel of land on the water to begin with. If you do, you’re looking at anywhere from $ 300.000,- to a solid million. If you go more inland, the cheaper it gets.
Now if one goes all the way up north such as Michigans Upper Peninsula, it becomes more affordable and an acre averages anywhere between $ 4000,- to $ 50.000,- but again, that too depends on the location itself.

hahaha - a deal is a deal lol. 😄 the sweetest feeling ever right?
okay ...so those book covers look sweet and romantic ....(not my genre tbh) ...but who knows, maybe i am missing out on a whole world of fun and games ....smut, lust and heavy breathing and some cottage core recipes hahaha 😄 there are specific books i´d recommend for audio (especially if read by stephen fry) ....off the top of my head i would recommend Harry Potter Series, LOTR and both his books Mythos and Heroes ...he is sooo enchanting. And Neil Gaiman´s "Sandman" .....you could paint/draw or do other chores around the house whilst listening. speaking of, shoveling snow eh?! hoping your back won´t be too offended!
beautiful idea with the porch/deck. i love the combo of wood/stone. stone cottages in the shire for example. ...are there any wild animals natural to the environment out there? do you know anything about the history of the land?! just inquire ...before hand.

i dreamed of my father tonight.
we were in his car and were sitting in comfortable silence. then we got to a store where he asked me to help him choose a garment ..i chose a shirt for him with a bamboo print on it (he planted a bunch of bamboo in our garden by the pond).
he liked my pick and gave me a beaming smile and then said, now we need to find the pants!

Lunch break dilemma...
Bought a reversible shearling coat several weeks before Christmas, from a trustworthy online site selling discounted designer stuff. When my expected delivery date passed, I contacted the company and got the usual "busy, we'll ask the warehouse and let you know". Another two weeks passed, heard nothing from them.
Annoyed by the radio silence, I started having second thoughts about my purchase. Shearling (natural lamb fur) is one of the warmest materials for a coat, so perhaps too warm for the UK climate. I also ordered a size smaller, since it looked slightly oversized, and I prefer my winter stuff to be snugly. May not fit, though... Also, even with the hefty discount, it was by far the most expensive clothing item I ever ordered.
I use PayPal to pay for online orders, so contacted them with a "delayed item" screenshot and asked for a refund. To my surprise, they refunded me pretty quickly, no further questions asked. One week later, my order arrived...oops!
During the past 5 weeks since its arrival, I've got to wear my new coat a few times, on the rare occasion when the UK temperature went below 6ºC. It fits well and it is better than expected, soft, light, beautiful and well made, to last a lifetime. Damn warm though....good for when I'll get to see the Northern lights. And...ahem...free!
I haven't heard from the online site, and the deadline for them to ask for a PayPal reversal has since passed. Part of me feels like a thief, all fur and no knickers...😄 Another part is actually pleased with my unexpected "con". I've probably spent a small fortune on that site over the past decade, time to receive some freebies from them...

Are they ever!? 😅 I actually stumbled upon a small collection of glass/crystal candleholder & I had it drilled into my head that I had to have them so I snatched four of them for $ 2,50. Man I was so exctatic like I just bought a luxry yacht.... which I will acquire one day..just a by the by lol 😆
As far as the books goes, not that I'm knocking filthy, steamy literature (if that's how it can be called) but perusing the particular ganre it isn't much my cup of tea either as I belong to the woman of action category rather than talking and/or reading about it 😛. But hey, everything has its place so I'll leave it be. That being said, I laughed so hard to myself as I read your first impressions of my recently acquired book collection & my brain was literally screaming "don't judge a book by its covers, Nem!!!"... All but one of the books have zero to do with romance. One is a murder mystery, another yet is fiction intertwined with some historical data depictioning a bygone era of when settlers first arrived to the New Wolrd. Another one is about a young girl age 8 who was abandoned on a ship from England to Australia who, many years later, finds her way back home only to unearth some dark secrets her biological family has kept hidden...and so on and so fort. 😚
You know, I will most certainly take your suggestions on board but the question I have is...would you also happen to recommend any particular audio books source!? Ones I typically get are free from either apple or Google playstore.
As far as wild animals goes on the island.... why yes...as a matter of fact they are. Moose regularly visit the island. I do belive they also have pack or two of wolves and random black bare 😬. As far as avian variety goes, they have all kinds including the bold eagle. I've actually spotted couple just chilling atop of the tree crown imidetly next to the highway. Deer is there in abundance.
With regards to its history, a tribe from the Chippewa Indians and Bay Mills Indian commuinity has had a log standing prensence on the island. They also have annual powwows I'd love to attend. Many moons ago one of Michigan's governrs had his summer retreat on the island though the building now is nothing more but a ruin. The only thing that remained from the building is the chimney 🤭
Now, the plot of land itself appears untouched as in there were never any permanent or semi-permanent structures erected on it. Furthest I was able to discover- at present- in terms of my research was that the family who sold it, had it in their possession for the last three generations. Gemini keeps telling me.."I know you are going to find some nativeartifacts on the property! I just know it!". And I'm thinking, while that would be really awesome, I couldn't keep it and would have to pass it onto the First Nation's historical society. Time will tell, no?! 🙂😘🥰

I'm glad you made a note of this & perhqps take a screen shot of it for posterity?! I regret not having recorded my papa's visits & though some of them are still firmly branded in my memory, details of those moments fade & wish I had something more tangible to browse through to refresh my memory. I'm so happy he was happy with your decision. 💜

Hey Star, thank you for asking. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a home or a primary residence per se since I already own a home...for a good while now as a matter of fact, but it would be an investment property doubling as a small retreat if you wish. Big enough, however, to accommodate a family of four so there is enough wiggle room should I ever decide to make it my primary residence.

That's it, hide it in the drawer -I figure......tick.....tock.......gahhh, I jump out of bed like it was on fire & rush that malfunctioning peace of good-for-nothing into the living room. TICK.... followed by longest echo I've ever heard!! 👀 It's 2:45 am at this point & I'm rushing the sleep robber downstairs into the office. Only once I reached the comfort of my bed again and was neatly tucked back in did it occur to me that I could've solved the hole debacle by simply removing the damn battery out of it which annoyed me sooo much I kept thinking about it up until 5am 🙄

things are OK - had a lot to do with mom this week ...high sugar and whatnot. took her to doc appointments and so on. quite a scare there ....pa sta di ti kazem, znas i sama kako je snjima .....
yes, so i got woken up by a knock on my appartement door at 4 am something; i sat bolt upright and i had goosebumps, i thought da mi je tata kucao na vrata da se probudim i da idem dole kod mame u stan da vidim da li je sve ok. she got a fright when she saw me open the door; and said that she dreamed that dad had woken her up by tickling her nose (their way of teasing each other). we were both like WTAF.
my best friend called me on saturday evening to hear about the situation which i tell her about (the knock) and i had hardly spoken the sentence when it knocks on her front door ....i mean ...i have no explanation. you have to get through downstairs buzzers to be able to enter a building complex here ...she got quite scared of course nobody was at our doors ...i´m intrigued ...but at the same time ....alert?! weird energy.

we were in his car and were sitting in comfortable silence. then we got to a store where he asked me to help him choose a garment ..i chose a shirt for him with a bamboo print on it (he planted a bunch of bamboo in our garden by the pond).

dealing with property is a pain in the ass - either before or after. i just am happy you have a strip of land and a refugium so to speak!
that bridge gave me anxiety from afar .....i dislike heights myself and was told to look down my nose and focus on a point ahead of me ...the brain can be tricked .....and while you´re concentrating on that point ahead you forget your surroundings...(i was told it helps against sea-sickness, too).

I was lucky to have had refinanced my house mortgage for a significantly lower interest rate during the very peak of pandemic which was quite an experience itself. In some ways, the chaos that ensued during the pandemic worked in my favor really.
Oh right, I do try to focus on a point ahead of me and pay the rest no mind but that dang bridge has two middle lanes through which you can see the water below. 😭😭😩 Anyway, I say my 5 Hail Marys before I cross because at that point, ish is out my hands 😂

okay ...so those book covers look sweet and romantic ....(not my genre tbh) ...but who knows, maybe i am missing out on a whole world of fun and games ....smut, lust and heavy breathing and some cottage core recipes hahaha 😄 there are specific books i´d recommend for audio (especially if read by stephen fry) ....off the top of my head i would recommend Harry Potter Series, LOTR and both his books Mythos and Heroes ...he is sooo enchanting. And Neil Gaiman´s "Sandman" .....you could paint/draw or do other chores around the house whilst listening. speaking of, shoveling snow eh?! hoping your back won´t be too offended!

As far as the books goes, not that I'm knocking filthy, steamy literature (if that's how it can be called) but perusing the particular ganre it isn't much my cup of tea either as I belong to the woman of action category rather than talking and/or reading about it 😛. But hey, everything has its place so I'll leave it be. That being said, I laughed so hard to myself as I read your first impressions of my recently acquired book collection & my brain was literally screaming "don't judge a book by its covers, Nem!!!"... All but one of the books have zero to do with romance. One is a murder mystery, another yet is fiction intertwined with some historical data depictioning a bygone era of when settlers first arrived to the New Wolrd. Another one is about a young girl age 8 who was abandoned on a ship from England to Australia who, many years later, finds her way back home only to unearth some dark secrets her biological family has kept hidden...and so on and so fort. 😚
You know, I will most certainly take your suggestions on board but the question I have is...would you also happen to recommend any particular audio books source!? Ones I typically get are free from either apple or Google playstore.
As far as wild animals goes on the island.... why yes...as a matter of fact they are. Moose regularly visit the island. I do belive they also have pack or two of wolves and random black bare 😬. As far as avian variety goes, they have all kinds including the bold eagle. I've actually spotted couple just chilling atop of the tree crown imidetly next to the highway. Deer is there in abundance.
With regards to its history, a tribe from the Chippewa Indians and Bay Mills Indian commuinity has had a log standing prensence on the island. They also have annual powwows I'd love to attend. Many moons ago one of Michigan's governrs had his summer retreat on the island though the building now is nothing more but a ruin. The only thing that remained from the building is the chimney 🤭
Now, the plot of land itself appears untouched as in there were never any permanent or semi-permanent structures erected on it. Furthest I was able to discover- at present- in terms of my research was that the family who sold it, had it in their possession for the last three generations. Gemini keeps telling me.."I know you are going to find some nativeartifacts on the property! I just know it!". And I'm thinking, while that would be really awesome, I couldn't keep it and would have to pass it onto the First Nation's historical society. Time will tell, no?! 🙂😘🥰click to expand

I will expand on it more sometime soon, lane moje, considering my brain has been robbed of its capacity to function today. Me no Engrrrrish or any other language for that matter lol Funny though you should mention the hour because I received a call at 3:30 am last Friday. But I'll go into details later.
As for your mom, I'm sure the events of late have only added to her health issues. Elevated sugar levels typically are direct result of high stress levels. Make sure all of you are good to yourselves and take any apportunity to disress! I'm sure it's easier said than done!

can you house/flat share? if social media is good for something, then to spread info - look on FB market.

Thanks and yes to all those suggestions (am trying to get on the housing list). I got some legal advice and he has to give me 180 days notice which is music to my ears.
Ive lots of people looking out for me so i’m hopeful something will come up. If it came to it my ex said i could stay at his in our Son’s old room.
