Right on cue
He can condemn it till the cows come home and underneath all of it his and his peers' feelings will still be the same. I don't know why people are pushing for it when we all know it would be for show and empty words. I think it's a good thing to see the truth. It's a damned ugly one, but we all needed to see that our country progressed no where. We just faked it. The politicians who are speaking out are faking it cause they know Trump isn't likely to get a second term and that their behinds are grass after this. For Trump this is all about winning by any means necessary. For them this is their life, their career.It's going to be hard to erase this from alot of minorities mind. They aren't going to forget next election.

It wasn't any secret. Trump was an open book from the early days of his campaign. Everyone had plenty of time to take a good long look at who and what he is, for all relevant purposes.Those who voted for him simply didn't care enough about the things you mention. They could have chosen something like a "thanks but no thanks, we'd rather look to someone else to address our concerns; this is unacceptable, no matter what else you're promising" approach, but they didn't.
This isn't a criticism, it's just what happened. Priorities.
Trump isn't really the problem. It's the culture, attitudes and beliefs that put him there. And the fact that on election day everyone is allowed to vote any way they see fit, including those who should really stay home.
I see trump as more of an enabler, and when you go out and seek support from such organizations you pretty much at that point are part of the problem. He's never held himself accountable for anything and his presidency will continue to create a more visible divide even if this country had deep rooted racism prior.

While it may not be a 100% trump he did give them a new voice this past election. Made it ok in a sense for them express their frustration of becoming minorities soon. His presidency has been their platform.

I dunno something is def. Different... I didn't even know the KKK was still around. Till about 3 years ago and I'm in Tn where the KKK was supposedly founded...and even then you thought it was just two old snaggle tooth guys or something... The first time I have ever seen a KKK rally was 2016 the night before the election. This is not all trumps fault and they have been around for ever... But he does have a white supremacist in the white house (Steve bannon) he does have the grand wizard support David Duke himself... he has to be a leader for EVERYONE and people aren't so sure he knows that... To say it's complicated is an understatement. What u see on the news is mainly sensationalism, if not out right distortion, depending on what you're watching. Both "Left" nad "Right" are to blame.
Couple of key things I'll reduce this complicated situation to.
1. Demographics. White people, although will still be the "largest" group will no longer be the majority. Also, add in the current opioid epidemic that is currently killing off (mostly) middle aged whites (most of them working class...sounds like Drumpf's base)
2. Automation. It's destroying many jobs traditionally done by lower skilled workers. This has been taking place for some time now.
3. Politics. Most establishment politicians (Right and Left) are bought off by major coorporations. They're out of touch and don't really care about their voters, cuz they're paid not to.
4.Media. Ahhhh, I love ? internet as much as the next person, but we're overfilled with tripe that passes for "news", and as a result most people are misinformed.
Mix all this shit together (I'm sure I missed some important points, but u get the idea) and u get served a delicious shit stew.
