I had a similar kind of dynamic with my Pisces best friend when we were just out of our teens, though we were always supportive of each other.
But I just didn't have that kind of "face rejection and keep going" that he did, so I cruised in his slipstream and he let me. But we both knew each other's roles, both played the part until we grew out of them.

i accidentally got the things she wanted (things i later on realized i wanted for myself too) but yes she is so much stronger than me. she's much better with people that's for sure and the loss of these things (dreams) would probably devastate me but she seems to coast by these losses like the survivalist gemini that she is.
i'm wayyyy too sensitive about these things like i can imagine if i wanted these things the way she originally dreamt about them, their loss would really hurt me like i'd just be a depressed bum about it... i never knew where i wanted to study but i went for her dream school, never knew how to settle for a job until i got into her company and never really felt like trying romantically again until i saw her domestic situation.
for some reason that my mind can't really comprehend, she accidentally inspires me to try again.
