My boyfriend recently has been working very long inconvenient hours. Mostly 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the city so it takes them 2 hours to get there and get home. His dishes and laundry are really piling up at his apartment and I know it's making him a little depressed.

I have the code to his apartment, I never go there without his permission and we've been dating about 3 months now. Since I have time after work if I want to his place and did his dishes and folded his laundry and put it away and wrote him a little note do you think he'd appreciate that? Is that kind of creepy? What would you guys do and would you like that if your girlfriend did that for you?

Don’t do it!!

Now if you spend the night and he leaves you there alone cause he needs to go to work or whatever...well a little tidying up wouldn’t hurt.

Not a deep clean though. Light.

On the light clean? Pick clothes up off the floor into the hamper. Wash dishes in sink and on counter. Etc. etc.

Deep clean to me is when you reorganize stuff and rearrange shit and start going below the surface and invading privacy and all that.

why do you think it's ill advised for her to do a deep cleaning of his apartment as a gift?

do you think he will come to expect it / enable him in the future to continue to be a slob?

my brother had a gf who would do his laundry, buy him gifts, cook food for him, clean his room, bake goods, and leave cute little notes

he cheated on her multiple times and she cheated on him as well

ask him before surprising him, that's his space, respect him and his space if permission is granted proceed
LMAO he cheated, she cheated - everyone sounds happy and satisfied 😄

if a girl did this for me i'd definitely consider her wife material

This a good time for you to see how he can manage/prioritize such tasks. Try not to discourage his ability to clean up after himself.
well, before me he was single for 2 years...i know hes capable, but he was very nice to me recently for my birthday and i thought since he's stressed right now it would be a nice gesture.

But, he got along without me, so he can do it on his own.

Wasn't @DeleterNerd just talking about this one Virgo chick who reorganized her Taurus bf's butter without his knowledge and it infuriated him? I'd reconsider the "surprise" part. That MFer is gonna think he got robbed.
LOL he is a taurus

but im a taurus too, and i would love to come home to someone doing my laundry 😄

*Taurui men* aren't big on surprises....

I LOVE surprises...especially when it involves stocking my fridge, or doing my laundry/dishes...r

I decided against it though, and im going to take the advice above and say to him "If you need any help tidying up, i can always help"

Do u think the fact that he has brought it up to on on several occassions and said stuff like "I just WISH this pile was gone" "i need a maid" "I dont have time to do this on my own" "hey can we tackle my clothes the weekend" and then the classic chauvinistic (in a joking manner) "i need a dishwasher i just haven't found her yet" ---could be him hinting that he WANTS me to?

thats the only reason i even thought of the idea, because he brings it up so damn much lol

Surely you can think of something emasculating he can do for you that takes 10-15 min. In return for you spending hours helping him with his chores. That's give and take. $ 400 was a birthday gift. click to expand

lol nope, I dont emasculate men...i build them up and inflate their man ego click to expand

Haha! Good! In all seriousness, I know if I was prepared for it... I wouldn't care at all... I'd try to talk you out of it.. but I'd secretly hope you would anyway.. just ask him. Or do it nonchalantly. Or just be chalant as treetrunk and come over with a haz-mat suit like "listem, we gonna do this or not?" click to expand

I like the latter

No, that would piss me off. I can appreciate the intent, but just no.

If you ask, then yes. Tauri aren't real big on surprises

*Taurui men* aren't big on surprises....

I LOVE surprises...especially when it involves stocking my fridge, or doing my laundry/dishes...r

I decided against it though, and im going to take the advice above and say to him "If you need any help tidying up, i can always help"

BTW i thought taurus men like a woman who cleans? click to expand

I can't speak for all, but I'm a neat freak, and self sufficient.

I don't want my love interests to feel like an employee click to expand

I hear you, on this.

Do u think the fact that he has brought it up to on on several occassions and said stuff like "I just WISH this pile was gone" "i need a maid" "I dont have time to do this on my own" "hey can we tackle my clothes the weekend" and then the classic chauvinistic (in a joking manner) "i need a dishwasher i just haven't found her yet" ---could be him hinting that he WANTS me to?

thats the only reason i even thought of the idea, because he brings it up so damn much lol click to expand

I'd say he was. Don't just do it though. Establish something you want in return.... and get that before you do it lol. Establish a "give and take" early.. don't let him walk on you later. click to expand

I mean he did spend 400 $ on me for my birthday.....i think thats a "give/take" click to expand

treetrunk that! Hold out for more! Lol.

Tell him you want a massage or something. Have him paint your toes or some butter.

Bring him down a peg. click to expand
