But yeah this white lady I used to know told me that our other white friend was blacker than me, that was almost ten tears ago and I'm still offended. Cause I am not a hoodlum versus him who chose to hang around the thugs and what not, But that putting the ethnicity on the front of every description is undercover racist even though some people use it as a fetish. Another offensive time for me was when one of my other friends was tryin to put me on with this Teena Marie actin white girl and she said she want a real black boy. Insinuatin I wasn't down enough for her. That was my friend random idea and I didn't want her but still offended.

I get the “not black” enough bs all the time... other than not speaking slang and dressing/acting appropriately which is not a “white” thing but a societal thing... what’s the issue?!?

Everyone has been put into a box, all other ethnicities see is what's on these music videos and the news stories that's ran about irrational and or irresponsible melanated people and that's what they conclude the whole group operates as which is not true. Nobody cares to research another further so when they come across a dignified melanated person that can carry on a conversation and don't say knowemsayin every five minutes they count us as other, emasculated or tryin to be somebody else.

Why would anyone want to limit themselves (regardless of race) to only the people that they know and grew up with? Majority of people move when they get older or want to meet new people and experience new things.

No what she is saying is what is the logic behind a successful person dating someone less successful that isn't even in their schema. How does that happen, it's one of those things that makes her go hmm maybe it's because xyz... that is all, just a speculation.

The thread is not about peoples level of success.. It's pretty obvious what the real intent of the post was..

Yeah and because it's obvious I didn't feel the need to say black or white. The whole point I was making in reference to her comment is there are many ppl like her who wonder when it comes to interracial couples how the relationship happened when they know the person the other is dating is way out of their reach and race is only one part of that speculation.

I think everyone has a bit of prejudice in them and prejudge what they see. I'd be lying if I said it's not hard for me to come in a room full of white folks, or in the work place and not think a good amount of them are closet racist until I get to know them.

I know that's why I am not racist, and I try not to walk around feeling that way because I have come across more good people than non genuine people.

i think people should love who they love, just as long it is not for superficial reasons. i am native american. my wife is Japanese. we have many similarities in our cultures and we get along quite well. our families know of our union and are very accepting, from both sides.
