I really disagree. In general it is Insecurity that causes it. So it's only correlative that Cheaters do it, because the real cause is that incidentally those people are also insecure. Hell cheating, especially for women, is very often due to insecurity. For men it could just be sheer selfishness more often than not, but yeah.

I know because I was like that once, for a very brief period. I felt overwhelming intense insecurity, like actually FELT insecure directly, and it was apparent to me. That strong fear reaction. That compels you to freak out and blurt out "I KNOW YOU CHEATED". Yada yada.

Granted I know /you'd/ say I cheated, or you think my own rules somehow say I did. But I was like that well before Mena, and stopped being like that just as much well before. So I pretty much turn that on it's head both ways. I was like that when I had never cheated, and when I did do something even vaguely resembling cheating... I was nothing like that.

Even the cheaters who accuse. It's directly because hipocritically they do to some extent care about the other person and care that the other person loves them. They care if the other person betrays or abandons them, despite the fact that they betray the other person unto theirself. It's not the fact that they themselves are cheating, that causes them to accuse. It's because they know what they themselves do, so they have front row seats to what's possible for the other person to do to them.

It's just like how:

Thieves steal but don't want to be stolen from.

Murderers kill but often don't want to be killed.

Liars decieve but often don't want to be lied to.

Cheaters cheat but often don't want to be cheated on.

People who do wrong, aren't doin so by legitimate logic in the first place. So they can't remain consistent in what they think. They ignore the truth about their own actions, but when it personally affects them. Then, they care. Maybe a cheater could do it to try and redirect attention away from themselves, but it's more indicative of a guilty conscious and a compartmentalization of their actions VS other's.

The "Do as I say, not as I do." types.
