I am wondering if dating in Europe being in different countries is the same like dating in US being in different states?

People who are complaining about never seeing each other and being in love but they are in different countries are TOO MANY!

Not as nearly as many from people who are in different states!

Why is it tons of people are in looong looong distance relationships? What’s the point when so many simply seem just suffering from not knowing each other and still holding on to those unsatisfactory situation?

Is dating in Europe somehow different?

All pairings I know live in the same country.

Sometimes it'S due to work that one has to travel a lot or live in a different country for a couple of months etc.

No! I am talking about Dxp members who are never seen each other due to being too far away but being ‘in love’ and not one willing to see another etc.

If you see each other less than 3 times per month you not dating you having discount phone sex. This is what happens when introverts abuse technology

3 times a months? Is that a fact?

Where did you find it?

And some of those don’t even have phone sex! They get marriages proposals right away! Lol

Dating seems to be an American thing. It is waaaaay different over here. It's more exclusive and focused. Its not common to have 5 or more options at the same time and then pick one _ sounds like a business deal.

So what about all this countries apart loving? Who knows how many of ‘loves’ they have and in how many countries?

It does not happen that often. And Europe is not that huge. I had a boyfriend in Croatia once.... Six hours apart by car... But he was a taurus... So yeah it did not work out lol.

We are not as mixed as the US and mixed couples are still a relatively new concept....

I’ve been to France and Germany about 12 years ago and saw TONS of mixed couples.

My friend lives in Italy and says it’s the same there.

LDR is sometimes a factor but not too common. Europeans seem to stick to their own kind.

Yes! They all seems in Europe but far away from meeting but ‘love’ is proclaimed nevertheless...

Love... Is a big word lol

Yeah! Seems like there are no one to love in the same country so they reaching out far far away...but then come here to cry. Almost daily at least one post appears about same ‘problem’...

And it scares people to hatred. It is easier to hate than love today

Hate and Love are two extremes. If you can tolerate somebody enough that's already great 😄

Tolerate is not in American dictionary

That’s why we have everybody from everywhere living here in peace!

I think it's more difficult if you need to apply for a Visa or citizenship then just travelling to another state within the same country. If you dated someone in a different state, you dont have to worry about being used for citizenship. You don't have the same difficulties with getting a job in a different country or your partner relying on you to support them. It's different if they were in a relationship first then someone had to move for work or university but even those ones don't work out if there's no solid plans with a timeframe to be closer together.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother looking for, or starting anything with someone who lives far away. You don't know if you have chemistry until you meet. And you don't know if you're compatible until you've actually spent time together in different settings. I don't know how people say they're in love with someone they've never even met. It sounds stupid to me

Most of my friends now are married and in another countries cause they found their men there...however those men mostly had origins from our country or surrounding ones and they speak same language. There are some that I know who married foreigners too. LDRs here mostly happen with neighbor countries or people met here, dated for a while when one had to leave the country in search for job and that's how it became LDR

So they’ve MET! Those my post about had not met! But loooove is just flowing except no one make an effort to meet in person!

A Sag sun/Sag moon friend met her husband on OKC back in 2011. She lived in SG while he was in Munich. They finally met in Zurich in 2012. It was supposed to be just a one off summer fling but they ended up getting married in 2016. He moved to SG to work and live with her until she sorted out her career stuff. She has since left Sg (in Aug) to finally settle down with him back in Munich.

Like @NemDeux said, It can work if both are pulling in the same direction.
