I think these people are undeveloped somewhere in their minds and just can't stick to one person.

Emotional connections can be singular or plural, depending on the individuals involved.

To me it's cheating, i'm using an inward looking view if that makes sense? it stems from how i would see myself if i did that.

From what I've seen and what I know for myself a fetish is developed at a young age. Likely around the time of puberty, then again once exploring sexual activity actually happens. Also I feel some fetishes are deeply rooted into a person's psyche from they day they are born, along with sexual preference. These aspects carry on with a person till the day they first feel a sexual urge, then these aspects merge together with the sexual urges. Now you have a fetish. In theory you can explain any fetish with what the child was surrounded by and mostly liked. Then once the mind is under control of one fetish, it then can easily fall for more of them. Maybe to the point they become addicted to almost anything.
In the case of sharing a love I feel it's mostly for lust, control, submission or jealousy. For lust maybe they are just super horny, and just want everyone to fuck. With control or submission it's just that. It's like the song sweet dreams "Some of them want to use you, some of them want to get used by you." Lastly is jealousy, which is the most complex. Somewhere this person likely felt so much jealousy so deeply they begin to get turned on by it. It can take a weird turn from there. It's like a mixture between wanting control, and wanting to see something you love get used. Likely from a person with issues with themselves and some type of deep self-hatred.

if that's what you all mean about " other" connections such as PLATONIC love, like your parents, children, siblings. other family members you grew up with.. grandparents ect.
then yes there are other emotional connections, that are very deep too.
