Recognizing your soulmate involves feeling an instant deep connection, mutual understanding, and a sense of comfort. Haven't met him; yet. If you're not familiar with me I am the one that reads tea leaves (coffee cup); mine. I SAW him in my coffee cup; saw a turtle (tortoise; telling me of "patience"), saw a bull (Taurus -- He WILL be Taurus; I guarantee you), saw a guardian angel looking over me as I slept, saw me and the guy kissing and spooning; as well as the male organ (I am in trouble!) 😈
In my heart I KNOW I will meet him as I am closing in on the third month {March} (3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months); since I've been known that the number "3" holds a significance in the mystical physic world. I have EVEN dreamt about him; and have YET to see him face-to-face. I CAN say I have fallen in love TWICE; once in middle school; and once in high school and it hasn't happened a third time (see the pattern?). But it does happen for others -- and I am "patiently" waiting.

@Impulsv I take it if i have to ask if she is my soulmate would mean no 😢 Is it possible to meet your soulmate and not know until the time is right. I also wonder do you both only feel it when the time is right or can she like have felt something and i haven't til the time was right? I mean when i meet a girl i can look at 20 good things in her and just be like I think she could be the one lol. I always look at the good in girls and be like maybe she's the one because all her good is stuff that's not good in me. So we make a good whole but I can do that with alot of girls i meet. I don't know. I get along with all my ex's and girl friends very well. But I always love girls all the same. I've never loved any more then others. I do have a deep love for all people really. It's a bit odd.

I don't think I can ever feel so in love like that with anyone. I don't think that is possible for me.
You'll just know, you will feel different and the longer you go on the stronger the feeling will get.

And really, a lot in the limerence link has overlap with not just what most people feel when they fall in love (the term is actually used more recently to just describe the obsessive phase of love, though some still use it to refer to "obsessive love disorder"), but with one of the most extreme soulmate narratives on the market these days - twin flames. So I'm interested to hear what you think are the clues that one has found their soulmate.

And I'm not saying I'm an expert in soulmate-ism, I'm just saying that what is described in that article is def not it for me.
I described my feeling upon meeting mine below the other post.
obsessive is intrusive and thats something that doesnt belong in this kind of relationship. I consider him a lot, is more like it.
The relationships is def not always about roses though, it taught me a LOT! About myself, about my flaws, what Im willing to accept and what to let go in the name of love.
He makes me a better person like literally and very much cliche so * I cringe saying this its so cliche haha*
The main thing for me, just like our first meet, is that he instantly makes me feel secure, at ease *with myself *, calm...I dont doubt our life together for 1 second

That gave me goosebumps thank you. I've never felt magical around anyone that's for sure. I hope I know it at the first site. A fairy tale love story. I still can't picture it. Hopefully i can message one day and say you were right!

You feel like you just had a cocktail of alcohol, caffeine, sugar and hash. Excited and nervous and ready to run home before the crash happens. I'm not sure if men who triggered such an over-the-top reaction were my soulmates though. Because I couldn't talk for more than 3 min with any of them!
On the other hand, I would call "soulmate" someone who grew on me with time and makes me feel like home. Someone to go on holiday in a god forgotten place, and still feel content and fulfilled, because with him/her by your side, you ARE always at the Centre of the Universe.

I have had similar experiences but i realized he would not be put in my path unless i continue on one that is healthy for me. now that I am, I feel he's closer than ever. patiently waiting and trying to make myself the best person i can be for him. he would for me!

the only time I've had that soul mate connection, i noticed him out of the corner of my eye skirting to the backroom slyly. we both couldn't help but peep at each other thru the make window til i asked my friend who worked with him, "Who is HE?" i can't explain the deep connection i had with him over the next 5 years or so but I've never experienced anything like it and i hope I'm lucky enough to find it again. i also hope he has found it as well...

Aww, I hope you do get to experience that. Words cannot describe the connection you feel towards someone. Till this day, words fail me. All I can come up with is Soulmate, My one True Love. It's different that's for sure. I never felt butterflies in my stomach. It wasn't infatuation. It was love from the moment I met him. If you do get to experience that...don't forget to message me 😛

Since people change and evolve, I believe it's rare to find a true soulmate. But, I do believe in the one who is right for me and will grow and change with me. There are different people for different stages of life and if 2 people can't grow together, it becomes one-sided and people may fall back on initial passion and chemistry to keep afloat... But no substance.I believe also that a person needs to have substance in order to find and attract something sustainable.

On feeling calm, etc., not minimizing your experience at all, but a lot of people who feel they've met their soulmates feel an overwhelming type of energy exchange, and it does cause anxiety for them. That's where I think the overlap with limerence symptoms comes in.
I also think "obsessive" gets a bad wrap, associated with being crazy or stalking and such, but really it just refers to a type of thinking that consumes a lot of time, might interrupt normal thought processes, change your focus or priorities, etc. It might be hard *not* to think about the person, etc. All that is very common even across cultures when falling in love. Obsession of this form is considered one of the universal phases of romantic love.

I dont think the concept of soul mate or twin flame is real. But yes i do believe in connection & chemistry between two people , i believe in lasting exclusive and committed relationship .
Some times it is also one's very nature that doesn't allow them to priorities one person over 10 others. Sometimes you have to stop your heart from falling for anyone else when once you are with someone already. If you always keep your options open in your heart then you can never find "The One" .

Awwww you are so "sweet" to wish that he also finds his soul mate! Yes, like you I have to "forgive" in order for the windows of the most high (God) to bless me/us abundantly! I feel that ANYONE can also read their coffee cup after they've drank coffee; don't know if you do drink coffee, but make sure the cup is white, drink the last drop, wait for it to dry and then you can look inside it.
Our "soul mates" are both waiting in a deserted island; they will one day drop at our feet, LOL! 😆

I had dreams about my man for nearly a year before we met, like you I never saw his face. But once I was in his arms I knew it was him. Also for about 2wks before we started talking on the phone I was waking up at 3:33 am.
That first kiss was amazing and I knew from the moment our lips touched I was done for ?.
I've been IN love twice before, but no one has ever made me feel the way he does, he makes me feel drunk and dizzy just from a kiss ?.
The connection we have is so strong and we haven't even slept together yet!

that sounds teenage love. a bit obsessed. which is not really love and it's puppy love.Writing down his name on a tablet 100 times, dreaming of him being your prom date, waiting for him if he's outside the class, or at lunch time, very puppy love.

I love a lot of close girlfriends like at least 10 of them. I've also loved a lot during my life. But i have never been whoa this is the one ever. I think there is so many beautiful and amazing women in the world that I can call the one (hundred 😄)! How do you know this is the one? Do you feel it? Do you know instantaneously with the first look?
