My scorp had a cancer moon.

Scorpios have a dominant side to them that I like. I like how Alpha they appear to be. They kind of aren't, but when they are secure with you and love you, they can take control and lead well. They are super loving, and understanding and have tons of patience.
Might be my Scorpio Venus, Just like your attraction to Leo's because of your Venus.
I just find them to be what I crave in a man, and I love how we are one and all consuming when we get together intimately.

I can deal with sag moon guys, they are cool and we get along fine, well of course if they have earth or water in their chart. I find fire dominants generally very shallow, they can't reach my depths or maybe I just don't give them a chance. We laugh, we have fun, we teasing each other and that's it. Fire dominants are kinda no to me.

I have Scorpio in my chart, so I get them pretty well. I think just like Sag with Pisces get Pisces. I think that helps. But mutables in general can give up too easily sometimes or move on quickly too. I think this is what the problem is between fixed and mutables.
But who knows who I'll end up with. I'm a work in progress right now. I am open for anything.

I don't think you are self-conscious but you know best. I won't speak on your behalf.
In general terms, having a dominant or aggressive personality does not necessarily make you Alpha as being "soft" does not make you automatically beta.
See, behaving in a dominant or aggressive way is often linked with being alpha, so people who want to be perceived as alpha but aren't really would act in that way. If one starts doing this in a very young age this act (or copying of how someone else acts) will become so natural for the performer that one may even thinks its inherent. Often though, aggression and domminance are more the reification of one's internal insecurities and self-perceived secondary status.
Anyways, what I want to say is that wanting someone to take the lead suggests that you don't want to take the lead yourself. If one wants to be "put in her place" by her man, well that's pretty self-evident.
To go further, you are letting socially constructed gender roles dictate your own expectations of how the female-male dynamics in a relationship should look like. Granted, you have little control over that as it is often subconscious but you can put the effort to work on that introspectively and limit it.
As for the "soft people", I must say, thinking that someone is beta and not "man enough" because he is soft is very far from reality. Although this might be true in some situations, as it might be true to an inherently alpha person is acting as dominant or aggressive, it is also true that often truly alpha people will be calm, patient, and tactful. They will assert themselves only in moments of their own choosing and will not try to demonstrate their dominance through raising their voice, act intimidating, pump their muscles et cetera.
I would never want to be with a woman that wants me to put her at her place or lead her anywhere. That's not a challenge for me and will only serve me if I wanted to prove to myself that I'm a big strong man. But I already know that, so I prefer a women that I can reason with and is on my or higher level of development.

You took one statement that I made and created a whole book of what you thought that I meant by that statement. It's one facet to my personality. I know what I like and want in a man and I know how my personality is and what I need to offset it.
What you like is what you like and what I like is what I like. I don't settle for certain behaviors. I want what I want and won't bend to maneuver around someone else's wishes if I don't agree with them.
So in short,
Cool that you know what you want. I do too. Doesn't make me alpha or beta. It makes me of sound mind and body.

Generally speaking, too much of anything is never good. I myself get tired of it too 😄 balance is the key. I have a friend, leo dominant guy, he always shies away from serious topics and there's nothing in my book I refuse to talk about, I don't know what his deal is tho lol
