Going white

I've committed to bleaching/toning my hair out over the next course of 6 months to get it completely white platinum. As in "shit, I overheld the toner and now it's bright purple!" kind of white. No brass at all.

So far I am using Redken deep fuel treatments that restore proteins after bleaching, as well as do a deep argan mask once a week to the ends.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to save my length through the process? My hair is fairly processed. (Please, don't say coconut oil, it's already been heard of. Looking for more things)

L'Huile de Leonor Greyl.

The saviour of colour treated and bleached hair.

It is a pre-shampoo oil treatment.

"This pre-shampoo oil treatment is most effective if applied to dry hair. It is most effective if applied prior to applying a shampoo or treatment. It is a multi-purpose blend of botanical oils that facilitate detangling, while protecting and nourishing your hair. Refined copra oil which comes from cold-pressed coconut kernels and mongongo oil, extracted from the nuts of an African tree that grows in the Kalahari Desert both possess excellent hydrating, regenerating and restructuring qualities which have been combined to reinvent your global cult favorite. Contains natural UVA/B sun protection filters and protects hair against the damaging effects from seawater and chlorine."

Usually, I would put this through my dry hair, let it sit and absorb whilst I go about doing my other daily tasks. You could let it soak for as short as ten minutes or up to as long as a few hours. From my personal experience, I would recommend that you only use a toner shampoo afterwards and skip the conditioner or treatment. Unless, if you have truly dehydrated hair, then follow it up with another conditioner or treatment, otherwise you would be left with oily roots.

On the days when I skip this treatment (I do so, every other time I wash my hair), I would use MoroccanOil Treatment on my ends. In addition to this, I would use a Thermal Protecting Spray before I blow-dry my hair or use any hot tools.

My current favourites are Rene Furterer Lissea Thermal Protecting Smoothing Spray and Giovanni 2chic Brazilian Keratin and Argan Oil Blow Out Styling Mist. The latter is mostly organic and the former mainly uses pure plant extracts and essential oils.

I should hope that helps.

http://olaplex.com/

Heard olaplex products are really good at keeping the hair healthy when you bleach your hair/change your hair to drastic colours.

My favourite youtube hairstylist uses it - Guy tang

(before and after = amaaaazebawbags)

His work is amazing, especially when he does oil slick or rose gold hair on those lucky ladies.

Platinum blondes are the shit!
I love it... the maintenance is just more than

I'm willing to put up with right now. :/

I think I'm lucky that I find the maintenance fun LOL! I can't even begin to find being brunet as an acceptable option.

Are you kidding? 😛

It's not an option for me either.

Don't misunderstand... I still have highlights.

I just don't want to do the all over platinum

maintenance atm.

That would be like once a month. o.O

Why are you trying to speed up your aging look? You'll get there soon enough.
Can you leave your opinionayed judgementalism at the door please? Thanks. I do the shit I want to do, I don't rely on other's taste and opinion.

I have my cosmetology license and I've taken a LOT of women to pure white 🙂 I have done the same on my hair as well. Right now I have an outgrown ombré on what was my white hair from the summer.

I'm guessing you've committed to spending a pretty penny to get to where you want to be? It's very expensive and time consuming to maintain.

If you have all of that plus more, you can try to get your hands on Olaplex. Everyone has a friend or knows someone who is a hairstylist, you'd need them to get into a professional store. Using olaplex you can get there in half the time and your hair won't be crunchy and fried.

You got me interested! Yeah it will be a lengthy process, so I'll give it a try for the beastliest keep-your-length treatments currently on the market.
