My theory is that since it takes so long for the light of the stars to actually reach us, the stars in the virgo constellation died out a long time ago which is why we're all dead inside.

the gylph symbol that looks closed in is not only about virginity but also about 'wholeness' (Virgo being also about healing also plays into that).. or being 'complete' by one's self as a human being before approaching Libra which is about 'the other'
the sign's about self-sufficiency, to be whole with one's self... virgins in ancient times were women who did not marry and are usually serving some temple goddess.. usually they come from high born families, specifically chosen for their youth and family lineage along with their health
they are 'free' in that they aren't exclusively beholden to one man but they're also 'subservient' in that they must serve everyone by serving the goddess.. some would even have sex with weary male travelers as a kind of 'healing' bestowed by the goddess..
in this way, there's a mysticism in Virgo that touches on the 'divine feminine' and a kind of 'magic' that's very similar to Pisces..

No offense virgoexalted but that’s kind of long so I didn’t read it lol, but I’m sure it’s fascinating. Figured I’d just drop this link that breaks down Virgo in interesting ways I personally hadn’t seen and enjoyed it. Not saying it’s definitive or anything but maybe you’d enjoy it too Idk

and what Virgo teaches about being 'whole with one's self' is that on the road to getting there, you ironically have to sacrifice yourself as well..
VIRGOEXALTED1: Sacrifice of the self is a attribute that is shared with Pisces, (ALLEDGEDLY Virgo) AND Scorpio: the act of sacrifice for what good though S_i_e_r_r_a? For what end does Virgo teach us to sacrifice ourselves? It's not obligatory that's for sure, It may not even be necessary at this point in the zodiac because Virgo has just gotten itself ready to 'share' itself instead of sacrificing itself. There's nothing relative to owning oneself and sacrificing oneself; they're not mutually exclusive terms that feed into one another so I'm confused on your philosophical perspective about Virgo in this way. Unless you're teaching me about the way the system WORKS for now, as opposed to the way it COULD or SHOULD work with Virgo being an Air Sign instead of an Earth sign.
But the act of sacrifice is dependent on each sign in this manner of speaking. Being whole unto the self suggests (IMHO) having the qualities and traits to be self-sustaining and independent. the act of sacrifice is a choice; and choice and consequences that follow are what Virgo deals more readily with; the act of initiating with choice as opposed to simple obligation.
Every zodiac sign SERVES in some manner; every zodiac sign sacrifices, what I feel your post lacks is a larger perspective for why this is done and deemed necessary to speak to about Virgo in it's true characteristics. The ancients had a way of looking at Virgo based on how the patriarchy viewed women and how a woman couldn't be comparable to a man, they were just touching on the fact that a woman could hold intellect on par with a man.
S_i_e_r_r_a_ the high born women had to leave their family, forsake their claim to fortune, live in simplicity with temple food.. this is much like being a nun as well like taking the vows of obedience, poverty and chastity... any word against their claim to virginity can endanger their life coz that is punishable by death
they live their lives in eternal subservience, in a way imprisoned.. the temples are open and they are free yet they are bound to duty, to the goddess, to their people... Virgo sometimes depicted with wings is often on a field and is an earth sign, kinda like an angel unable to leave due to some mission, some duty..
someone has to keep the flame alive in the temple

What is your Vesta with house and aspects it makes?
Anyway you have a link to submit greylatern to help me find out where my Vesta with house and aspects is?
Oh? You should lookup Vesta. Something's you said reminded me of a Vesta placement.
Vesta in Virgo may become compulsive about serving others. They are serious and very driven to meet their goals. They have a wonderful sense of duty but they may not be able to accept that failure may result. They need to learn to relax and enjoy themselves. They may suppress their own wishes in the course of duty with no regrets. They are natural healers with attention to detail. They will work until there is nothing left to give.
Vesta represents what we give our all to. Self sacrifice to be a service to/of. Someone else mentioned temple virgins. Which is until they are 30yrs btw not for life. This is why I asked.click to expand

i don't disagree with you.. those are good points.. maybe freedom for the virgo archetype is an illusion... having wings yet still bound to the earth
temple priestess life is prostitution anyway... a way for old patriarchy to brainwash, control and dominate women back then..
rape i think too is sadly central to the archetype... be it of the body, the mind or the spirit
The Patriarchy of the ancient days made it so that the female archetype is subservient and unequal to the male. Why do you think one of the keyphrases for Virgo was "I serve"? Better to die on your feet, than to serve on your knees I say, but I digress...
The zodiac is outdated, and have people believing that Virgo can do no greater good than bow, serve, and follow. So because of it's outdatedness, I can't agree with a fatalistic line of thinking that freedom for the Virgo archetype is an illusion...if you have wings you can choose to use them or to remain bound to earth. the choice is yours. Have you heard of the Virago? These are heroic maidens or heroines that save the day, combating their captors and CHOSE to fight. The Patriarchy's done it's job if it has you thinking this isn't a sign of Power. That's what makes Virgo like a cardinal sign; it leads with it's head; Virgo being a cerebral type brings us the divine right of choice Virgo has a very concentrated and broad mind.
Maybe you should read my first post about Virgo because in it I explain what comes after the Ego in psychological development; the Soul/Spirit and intuition for love of man. Astrea chose to come to Earth to bring a golden age. The Virgo Archetype shouldn't be any longer about where we serve, but how where we apply the full energy of our sentience to to bring a golden age...will we worship revere our spirit and our right to choose a life for ourselves or stay under the patriarchy's control? Be a Virago Sierra, pick up that sword and chop down the patriarchy...I think people should really give what I say an honest thought or two.click to expand

i like this, i've always seen Virgo as similar to Aries in that they're both constant optimists.. some would often choose to 'escape' but we're here to stay and instead of running, we just adapt to this world and all its little worries coz each and every worrying thought is like a silent prayer that we continue to live:
"Will this year’s harvest be abundant? Will we make it through the winter? Will the rains come?"
"Virgo’s hyper awareness of the coming judgment day is part of what makes Virgo such a magical sign. The coming of judgment day tunes Virgo into the tiniest details, the smallest signs and omens that foreshadow what could go wrong and how the favor of the gods might be obtained or offended. Within Virgo is the purity and meticulousness of a very good diviner…a diviner who knows exactly what must be done to please the gods and effect a good outcome."
"We might picture Virgo as the timing of the medicine maker, the listening angle of the moon, and the specific hand and fingers with which to pluck the fruit. Virgo is the mantra to recite at just the correct time of year. The oracular work of the farmer and his magician’s almanac. None of these things done with a lot of pomp and circumstance…but just as quietly, and modestly as a bucket of water drawn from the well or an arm full of pine wood for the fire."
"There is a magic to the way we work…not just the work we do..but the way we do it…here is where most of the heavenly instructions are found and where the success or failure of our inquiries are made. Virgo’s magic lives in this world, along with the winged birds of Mercury. Let’s not forget."click to expand

I have had read it somewhere pluto is exalted in virgo. And pluto never gives negative effects in virgo. Persephone is actually virgo, shes not taurus lol.
Pluto is exalted in Leo. Hahahahahaha
Persephone was the Goddess of spring... Demeter, her mother, the Goddess of Grain.... Hades the god of the underworld.. How the heck people think Persephone is Virgo is beyond me. Virgo was Demeter, the Goddess of Grain. As a lot of those myths do, this one revolves around agriculture. Hades (Scorpio - lord of the underworld), kidnaps Persephone (Taurus) and takes her to the underworld... Scorpio, being Taurus' opposite sign, is no longer visible in the night sky when Scorpio is visible - when scorpio is visible, taurus is in the Southern Hemisphere. It appears that taurus was kidnapped and sent to the underworld. Not that Persephone being the GODDESS OF SPRING and taurus falling exactly 180* from Scorpio, and occuring in spring wasn't a good enough hint.
And I've already discussed the fact that Virgo... since the BEGINNING OF ASTROLOGY.... has been acknowledged as being related to GRAIN. When does Taurus occur? In the Spring. What has Virgo always been associated with? Grain. When does the constellation Taurus become unseen in the northern Sky? During Scorpio Aka Hades Season. Venus, the ruler of Taurus is also in Detriment in Scorpio and Exalted in Pisces. According to the myth Persephone was required to stay in the underworld for 4 months, 1 for every pomegranate seed she ate. Scorpio (Detriment), Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius....... Pisces... there are 4 months between detriment and exaltation for Venus. The math itself doesn't add up for Virgo.
So, Spring grows Crops (Taurus), Harvested by Demeter - Goddess of Grain (Virgo), Grain is weighed and measured (Libra), then stored underground/underworld with Hades (Scorpio) until...... YOU GUESSED IT! SPRING! When Persophone is allowed to leave the underworld and come top side. Then planting season starts all over.

i don't know why this guy is so angry
virgo and scorpio are obviously soulmates ❤️
he's getting worked up over nothing
I’m pretty sure this is Ands just trolling people and my post was a throwback to him doing the same thing in some other sign’s threads. I didn’t even read his post tbh 😆
Anyways, since I’ve got you here, have you ever watched Boardwalk Empire? If not I think you’d like it. It’s mob stuff and sometimes it features some real life gangsters from back in the day. I didn’t get around to watching all 5 seasons yet tho, just the first few. But they were really good lolclick to expand

Did you know Capricorn and Scorpio was once the same sign? It's TRUE. Sagittarius is actually an erect penis, not an bow. The sea goat had his penis nibbled off by pisces fish. That's why the M in scorpio looks flaccid, gets erect in Sagittarius, and is missing in Capricorn.. all that remains is 1 testicle and half of the M. Saturn has the worst luck. Capricorn men really are unlucky in love.
Same logic as Virgo Scorpio. Very superficial

Virgo's meaning and placement in the zodiac- Virgo is symbolically now associated with work, routine, heath, and cleanliness. But why is one sign associated with this? Every zodiac sign must work, pull a paycheck, work the everyday grind, wash, and bathe...albeit in their own way. However Virgo has been placed in charge of this when there is more than meets the eye in this sign. In order to see Virgo's hidden purpose and work we have to start at Leo's placement. Leo is about cultivating the Ego and Creative energies we have in order to manifest identity and self-awareness.
After Leo's Ego, we should be dealing with something more but we're not quite ready to function as a pair (As in Libra) or talk about community because we're not spiritually aware/attuned. Considering through my research that the "M" glyph of Virgo represents the experience of Christ Consciousness we now are experiencing the finished product of the individual psyche: the combination of the Logic, Emotion, and Intuition: we're talking about the Soul in Virgo. Notice that opposite to Virgo is Pisces, which speaks about dissolution, the spreading out and karmic end to the soul and reincarnation. So in Virgo we speak about the birth and experience of the soul.
The reason we are talking about the three aspects of consciousness in the psyche at the sign of Virgo is because we are essentially expanding beyond the ego, and the goal of the zodiac is to talk about progressively individuating to collective symbols. In Virgo were growing larger still to prepare for emergence into the community of our humanity. Also keeping in mind that Virgo is a glyph much like Scorpio in that Scorpio is known for having 3 totems, Virgo should as well represent the three aspects/pillars of our humanity needed to achieve Christ consciousness or enlightened states of consciousness. In Virgo, We are virginal not in a sexual sense, but in a high minded,MENTAL one where we occupy a continued state of intrigue with the novel, the new, and ever growing spirit. Also now we are aware of what makes us human, and a sense of humanity and how to best utilize or how to negatively express our humanity.
The points at the end of the "M" glyph were thought to be crossed legs (Possibly due to Virgo's 'Earthiness and sensuality' but lets face it, were all sensual when the time is right I don't know many people , but Virgo is a discriminating sign, discrimination deals more with cognitive facilities...when we talk about those legs, rather than thinking of them as legs the eye is more fitting as the eye is analogous to the mind and spirit so rather than looking classically at the glyph of Virgo in the old way, of being closed, and retentive, the Virgoan eye alludes to the all-seeing eye, open eye, the eye of truth opening our consciousness to higher levels and our humanity and the power we come to wield as humans to create golden ages.
Virgo's Element-Virgo is now considered an Earth sign, which I highly doubt. The reason why I doubt this is because Virgo is symbolically depicted with wings, or as the Virgin Mary with an astral glow around her:and is a human sign that deals with sentience and human values and ideals. It's one of the only human signs that isn't considered an air sign and now has wings and deals with spirituality and yet is considered Earth (In my opinion) because it makes the modality and elemental progression make sense, Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable, Fire, Earth, Wind, Water is how it follows.
Libra being a scale should be ready after Virgo to talk about work, and the day to day grind, finances, balancing checkbooks, paying bills, but most importantly stand for the function of justice and internal examination of justice. It would function well as an Earth Sign because what primarily does a scale do? It balances, it weighs things and cannot act on it's own accord, but in Virgo we learned to develop the humanity to have something to share with the other. Libra should deal with that in a day to day respect what do I do for the community and what does the community do for me? I never understood why an sign with wings wasn't an air sign, when in many cultures wings are a symbol of purity and spirituality.
6th House Enlightenment, The Trinity, Unity,- Since Work, Partnerships, Business, and day-to-day affairs and the execution of justice belong to Libra, the 6th house is the house of Enlightenment, the Spirit, Valor and Humanity. How do we get to the next level mentally and spiritually? How do we best express our humanity? How do we give to the greater good of society? Virgo seeks to evaluate things based on the humanity in them, and is disgusted by a lack their of, and is capable of behaving quite inhumanly themselves. Look at Ivan the Terrible! Anyway, the 6th House asks us about our consciousness and how we best express the 3 aspects of our mind to make a golden age of our society. The sixth house asks how we can take our ideals and add them to the collective pool of humanity as a legacy if you will that will create a new golden age. (Astraea was another incarnation of Virgo who happened to be the goddess of justice who came down to earth to create a golden age who left because of her disgust with war amongst humans).
Finally Virgo's Planetary Home- Let's assume that the intelligence and cerebrality of this sign is associated with what lies innately with the sign, but let's consider alternative planets of domicle. It's really no secret that an incarnation of Virgo was Persephone (the daughter of Demeter) Persephone was abducted by Hades one day and was urgently wanted back by her mother Demeter. Zeus intervened and said that so long as Persephone didn't eat anything from the Underworld she could remain with Demeter. Lo and Behold, Persephone eat 6 Pomegranate seeds and so custody of her was then split between Demeter and Hades her husband. So based on this story and Virgo's association with it, Pluto can be a home for the sign of Virgo. A potential Air sign! This creates an emergency in the sign necessary for Christ consciousness to be born within the mind. Pluto germinates the mind so that way it is fertile with the ability to create the necessary conditions for this next step in evolution which Virgo is all about.
Of course most of this is speculative but I don't know anything in terms of the zodiac that isnt. This isn't religious dogma, just some conversation that I thought was salient to the Virgo Personality. I know I've experienced the feeling of my personality's expression is overshadowed by my zodiac sign. The sun is designed to show case our personalities even if the sun doesn't rule the sign it's currently in shouldn't suggest that the sign is weak, however it should suggest that the closer examination and research should be placed into the zodiac sign so that it can best express itself making it distinct amongst it's sign siblings.
