OP, I had this same problem when I was younger as I witnessed and experienced this phenomenon you described. Was I perplexed? Yes. Did I get confused and upset? Yes. But the thing you need to realize is that you're trying to fix something that is completely out of your control. What's ironic to me is that by complaining about it, you remove any incentive for those women to make better choices by not presenting a truly better option. A mature woman will choose a man who stands by his principles no matter how "nice" he is. If she doesn't value your niceness...simply move forward and direct your energies elsewhere. It's not your job to fix or correct her. Treat her like an adult and not a child. Being critical only shows you're not who you say you are and women will stick with the douchebags every time because they know them and they are predictable. This leads to the "safe bet."
What's troubling about your statements in this regard is that by devaluing the safe bet you simultaneously devalue a woman being mature and further imply that she isn't being mature. Thus, she's immature when she dates the douchebags and is immature if she chooses the "safe bet." This, in all honesty, points to your own insecurity in the form of not allowing any imperfections by trying to have it both ways. What's equally tragic is that being a safe bet means that not only is one mature and responsible, but is valuable. By removing any positivity, you don't give men any incentive to mature either. Im married been married for 9 years with my wife for 14years. Im like her 2end real relationship.
Back to the topic
My conclusion came from 2 separate young ladies who stated their guys were unattractive but had good qualities and they felt more in controle of outcome of the relationship based on the assumption that the more attractive guy would automatically be bad choice.
So later I walked to my coffee spot looked around and analyzed every couple i saw, with pen and paper i graded each couples from 1 being least attractive to 10 being very attractive. My result i rarly saw a very attractive guy with unattractive girl. But witnessed 16 out of 22 couples were the guys were unattractive of scale of 3 to 4. From that i declared it as a fact to which men down grade and women upgrade as inaccurate.

My conclusion came from 2 separate young ladies who stated their guys were unattractive but had good qualities and they felt more in controle of outcome of the relationship based on the assumption that the more attractive guy would automatically be bad choice.
So later I walked to my coffee spot looked around and analyzed every couple i saw, with pen and paper i graded each couples from 1 being least attractive to 10 being very attractive. My result i rarly saw a very attractive guy with unattractive girl. But witnessed 16 out of 22 couples were the guys were unattractive of scale of 3 to 4. From that i declared it as a fact to which men down grade and women upgrade as inaccurate.

I upgraded. Js. I no longer tolerate abuse, or disrespect. Yes, he's shorter than my ex. But he's still just as sexy if not more, and much more intense. His sun/Mars in Scorpio are EXTREMELY appealing to my Scorpio Venus. My ex did not make me as *ahem* aroused or satisfied either.
