Curious.. what counts as stimulating conversations for Aquas or air signs in general?

So! I think I’m pretty intelligent lol but I can talk about a lot of random stuff.. I love languages, philosophy, art, different cultures, Hispanic food.. and so I have gained a lot of random knowledge in all of these subjects and others. Does this constitute as intelligent conversation when I talk to an aqua or any air sign really, about these topics? Or is showing intelligence something different entirely? This whole concept is quite confusing to me as I know I enjoy being emotional as a cancer.. emotions are like my bread and butter but from research this is like a huge no for aquas so I’m wondering does my emotional side make me less appealing as an intellectual to them, would an aqua still be attracted since I am cancer/Leo cusp. I think my Leo side is what meshes well with the aqua guy I get along with but I always think my cancer side makes things weird.. it’s a random question and probably difficult to answer so I apologize in advance but since joining this site I’m super excited to ask all the random questions I’ve had for a while. I love aquas and love learning more about how they tick and what they like.

None yet. Still trying to get to know him as he lets me. He’s very closed off emotionally which is usually how I get to know someone so it makes it a challenge which as a Leo I live for.. ah it’s awful lol. But he has been showing signs that there is interest and that’s nice so just taking it day by day and going to learn what I can as I go, but astrology has always fascinated me and I go to it immediately when I realize I like someone to see if I can figure out more about them. Hopefully I’ll find out what time he was born without being a creep so I can get his whole Chart lol

My Aqua HATES debating, and my Libra dominant self hates that he hates it, lol.

I think it's not about what you know (although it will make for interesting conversation), but how you think. If you're not conventional in your thought process, and if you keep him a little off balance trying to guess your next move, is when they get mentally stimulated. But it should be natural, you can't really fake that kind of thought process.

My Aqua and I don't really engage a lot in random conversation; it usually just happens when one of us comes across something interesting and it rolls from there.

I hate it when i have to explain it twice why i am right.

My aqua's go to topics are music, religion, spirituality, anime and food. We can talk for hours about any thing. We also start at one point and go waaaay past the initial topic, then bring it back. It's magical! 😍

Most people here have answered most of it, but I just want to make something clear

We do not run away from emotions, or from emotional sensitive people. I actually attract a lot of them, my best friends are cancer and Pisces.

We may have a straight face while you are pouring your emotions to us but is not that we don't care, as far as me, when someone breaks down in front of me (some of my friends do, I'm very supportive and let them open to me) I will probably have a straight face, but at that moment I'm listening to you, and at the same time my mind is thinking of solutions, understanding your emotions and finding ways not to make you feel better, but ways to fix the issue.

Lol!! You are absolutely right. We hate hearing NO! Intelligence is important but I love someone who can keep a conversation flowing with wit and humor. My advice for the Cancer is too not be so clingy and emotional when around us. It is very overwhelming and one of the reasons none of my past relationships with them have worked for me.

Depends on their chart and their tastes imo. Rings true just about everyone. If anything I enjoy learning from others and sharing knowledge.

The part about debating is if I know something that is clearly wrong then yeah I'll debate til I die but generally not a big fan of debating.

For me, water signs are demanding from early stages. I like debating. I like sparks of intelligence. I like to and fro topics. I jump from one subject to another in a natural manner (I am a cardinal anyway). I like to listen to arguments when they seem genuine. I go down to the root in some subjects. Dissect them to particles if it is interesting. As long as you give me genuine arguments.

I haven’t had a chance to get on but now that I can I will respond to everyone starting with this one lol. Yes I am a cusp. I have followed astrology religiously to figure out why I don’t have the all typical traits of neither cancer nor Leo. I am somewhere in between. And have found the way to balance the oscillation that I used to struggle with. So in someways I am a tame lion while a courageous crab. I just started posting so it’s hard to see my personality come through but as you get to know me it’s obvious I don’t fall into either category well.

Okay good to know! For me I am passionate when I talk as for the most part, I find everything interesting and find ways to integrate my experiences into conversations.. so like an example of a conversation I’ve had with this guy is about languages and how he has realized that having a barrier through nourbunderstanding the same language causes you to not be able to get to see the other persons true personality and that once you speak the same language you can actually cross that barrier of knowing the person.. and I completely agree as I studied multiple languages but speak Korean fluently and am learning Spanish and I can definitely tell when speaking broken Spanish that I’m unable to convey who I am in conversation as I’m just struggling to make correct sentences.. and I can imagine those who are learning English also can’t show who they are until they speak it fluently.

Anything within his interests, as long as you know what are you talking about and your speech is based on logical arguments. If he is not in the mood, he won't listen to another topic, or he will deviate it back. Sometimes he can heat up and doesn't allow me to go deeper into the debate, because he hates the feeling of being wrong (well, this is his Pisces moon, anyway). But since I couldn't care less, I drop it. This is because the topic has no effects on me. If it does, that's a different story. We pick it up later on cool terms, but always talk it out. Communication (positive!) is the key.

There's a difference between intellect and intelligence. First is knowing stuff whereas the latter is about your ability to work with and apply said knowledge to solve problems.

I don't hate it if others are emotional. I hate it if those emotions are pointless, serve no purpose and lead to nothing. Assuming you have an emotional breakdown that brings you closer to who you really are. I'd have no problem with and would stay around as long as you need someone and I have the time. Just don't expect me to be around if you are crying for straight 24hs without any progress. I understand it's mostly about stress relief but it would still make me uncomfortable because I have no real course of action to offer immediate assitance.

Conversations:

Having knowledge about a wide range of zopics is good but be prepared to face constant jumps between them whenever you are talking with one our kind. It's about connecting those different topics to something greater to transcend the boundaries of what is considered to be normal.

It's one aspect where you can add your emotional aspect to the conversation without seeing us running back to our ivory towers.

Example: talking about a movie and you say how a certain scene affected you/gave you. Explain why you felt what you felt and how you did deal with it.

You create an rational approach to your emotions that way.

You can basically talk about everything as long as you and the other person can "work" with it.

i have always liked your way of answering the question.

i'm not sure if i can relate properly but i really enjoy talks with aqua . male or female. and normally they don't come to me with the most intelligent conversation... they come to me with conversations that is deep and connect to me and them. they don't come to me with history, science or politics subjects. we normally enjoy discussing things that are human related. topics that are important to us. where we can grow and improve from. i notice that every single conversation is related to change, improvement and self growth. something i adore and obsessed about. anything that is crazy and wild we also love that. something funny, abnormal, unique and weirded is even better. what i notice about them is, whatever the topic, you need to be real and true to yourself. to who you are and OWN THAT with pride. he lately told me, to own who i am , how crazy or weirded just own that. if you are emotional, just be it, express them, but work at it. analyse and REFLECT is very important to aqua i find. they mention that work ALOT. maybe i get them coz i have aqua moon.

i don't like people who try to act or say things like they know it all. or book smart. i don't think that appeals that much to them. he says he enjoys deep conversations with me, something he never really had with anyone, and i never once mentioned, science, philosophy, history to him lol. mostly its related to psychology, people and human behaviour...change and growth ...

sometimes, i find some crazy random articles , and i send it to him. we discuss about it. sometimes, we argue, sometimes we agree, we laugh it off and move on, i agree that normally we don't discuss the surface of what people see, we discuss whats underneath the surface. that makes things more interesting ...

i could be totally wrong here but this is what i see from aqua.

my girlfriend aqua ( scorpio moon) also told me, she was hanging out with a guy who has a great sense of humour and everything but the topics they discuss were not deep enough. it didn't stimulate her mentally enough. I'm not sure if thats the scorpio moon talking but that might give u an idea.

as a cancer, it might be tricky to detach those emotion from discussing certain topics.

but maybe give it a try, treat him as ur friend when u wanna talk about stuff n just leave emotion out till the time is right.

i find they r very good at deep emotion more than people give them credit for.

thats why its important to be REAL with them



if u wanna cry just CRY lol

if u wanna tell them u feel sad , happy or u feel crazy, just do it

but always remember to reflect to improve and to growth.

then move on from that topic

they will be glad they were helping you discovering yourself.

I am terrible with boring mundane conversation. My mind completely switches off. Depending on how bad it actually is, I'll even leave the conversation or room just to get away from it.

I'm lucky that my friends don't subject me to such idiocy but it can be something else to deal with when it's new people you are meeting and the conversation is doing nothing for you.

i have always liked your way of answering the question.

i'm not sure if i can relate properly but i really enjoy talks with aqua . male or female. and normally they don't come to me with the most intelligent conversation... they come to me with conversations that is deep and connect to me and them. they don't come to me with history, science or politics subjects. we normally enjoy discussing things that are human related. topics that are important to us. where we can grow and improve from. i notice that every single conversation is related to change, improvement and self growth. something i adore and obsessed about. anything that is crazy and wild we also love that. something funny, abnormal, unique and weirded is even better. what i notice about them is, whatever the topic, you need to be real and true to yourself. to who you are and OWN THAT with pride. he lately told me, to own who i am , how crazy or weirded just own that. if you are emotional, just be it, express them, but work at it. analyse and REFLECT is very important to aqua i find. they mention that work ALOT. maybe i get them coz i have aqua moon.

i don't like people who try to act or say things like they know it all. or book smart. i don't think that appeals that much to them. he says he enjoys deep conversations with me, something he never really had with anyone, and i never once mentioned, science, philosophy, history to him lol. mostly its related to psychology, people and human behaviour...change and growth ...

sometimes, i find some crazy random articles , and i send it to him. we discuss about it. sometimes, we argue, sometimes we agree, we laugh it off and move on, i agree that normally we don't discuss the surface of what people see, we discuss whats underneath the surface. that makes things more interesting ...

i could be totally wrong here but this is what i see from aqua.

my girlfriend aqua ( scorpio moon) also told me, she was hanging out with a guy who has a great sense of humour and everything but the topics they discuss were not deep enough. it didn't stimulate her mentally enough. I'm not sure if thats the scorpio moon talking but that might give u an idea.

as a cancer, it might be tricky to detach those emotion from discussing certain topics.

but maybe give it a try, treat him as ur friend when u wanna talk about stuff n just leave emotion out till the time is right.

I loved reading this! Thank you for your input 🙂 yeah no way would I try to “make” good conversation as I can talk about anything and find points that are interesting to me and find common ground through theconversation. I’m very eccentric and I have a wiiiide range of interests so being myself seems like I will already be having good conversations with him when we talk.

I'm lucky that my friends don't subject me to such idiocy but it can be something else to deal with when it's new people you are meeting and the conversation is doing nothing for you.

I agree to most of what you said but I want to highlight your first point:

It doesn't have to be an intellectual or scientific conversation. It's mostly about your connection to the topic. My best Capricorn friend started our first meeting about what porn movie he watched the moment before meeting me for a beer. He talked almost three minutes of what he liked and disliked about said porn movie/scene only to finish with the question if he started that topic to soon.

After that it was pretty clear we would be good friends.

There is some scientific backround for this mostly titled as the 36 questions to fall in love.

Works for most first meetings.

Haha that’s an awesome way to become friends! Yes I agree I think that’s what I was looking for is if the conversation had to be political or scientific to be intelligent. I’m not into those topics so I’m not “smart” when I talk about them I guess but when I talk about the things I love and there’s plenty of those lol I talk with passion and can really dive into the convo so I think I will be ok

i find they r very good at deep emotion more than people give them credit for.

thats why its important to be REAL with them



if u wanna cry just CRY lol

if u wanna tell them u feel sad , happy or u feel crazy, just do it

but always remember to reflect to improve and to growth.

then move on from that topic

they will be glad they were helping you discovering yourself.

Aww thank you so much for those words. I have actually experienced this lately. Not long ago I met a girl/woman We are both in out late late 20's.. we met outside of a nightclub garage and I had been side watching her because she had an accent similar to my country, so all of a sudden later she waved at me "Hey! have a good night!" I said "you too!!, be safe"

I had never seen her before, but she was tipsy so I figured she was just being friendly.

The next day, a friend was hosting a BBQ at his pool house and I went there and I see her in the water and I said "I met you last night?" she said "Hi. jessica" (name altered) so I said "oh ok, hi" so yeah, figures that she didn't remember me which I knew.

We talked that night and got along really good (she said that night that she sees I'm a strong woman and that she had gone through hard stuff etc.) then she started inviting me to other events and so on, we got along like besties, she would call me when she was feeling down, because I lend my ears to her to listen and try to help her, or at least just being there and I have. we have gotten so close together in such a short time that she has cried next to me and told me that I appeared in her life to help her.

So, I think that we somehow carry the emotions of others, we open our arms for them to be free.

I wanted to add: Not everything is sad moments, I'm just talking about the emotion side.

haha seriously , maybe this aqua had pisces moon but i never cried so much in my life

the first time i cried with him i almost died lol i was like

i never cried infront of a man before

since then, every single fights- i seem to do some kind of -re-birth with him-

im not afraid to cry infront of him anymore- and i think overtime i grow from it, it makes him happy LOL

and when he used to hold info about himself or trying to run away from his own feelings- i always told him what he has taught me- but i guess aqua like to teach- but sometimes, they struggle to adapt their theories and act on them...

yeah i like aqua like that, they are great friends and making amazing friends who will listen to you if you need to - talk -

they are amazing at giving advice too so every time i have a question or need advice i will call him straight away- they are able to give advice from a very detached perspective which I LOVE!

In a way, yes. We tend to treat other people better than ourselves. The standards we set for us are a lot less forgiving than those we set up for the people around us.
