I remember when my dear pisces gave me a leaf off a random tree. Told me it was special. I still have it today. Or a bottle cap my grandma gave me from when I was 5 and told me I'd be rich one day if I recycle every single one.

Wing it. I'm gullible as shit so it might not work with him.

It's tough because he's not the outwardly sentimental sort.

He has few interests i.e. sports

He literally has money to buy anything he wants, but he only buys necessities cuase he's practical (is that the right word?)

But then again he's really into simple things like frozen yogurt, baseball, theme parks

So I want to get something that truly will have an effect, cause last year i got him this bobble head of characters from a favorite movie and it quoted lines from the movie and no reaction lol. Though the fact that he still has it a year later means something?

His aqua friend showed more interest in it though lol.

I've seen a lot of aquas interested in technology so gadgets etc but those are usually quite costly. Those are the sorts of things I can't accept as gifts though. Sentiments are hard to come by which is why I never cared for gifts myself, if I was to choose between a physical tangible present over a hug I'd choose a hug. A quiet get together or showing me something I don't know would also be up there.

another year i got a mini cooper mouse.

It's cute. No reaction there either. Doesn't use it but kept it on the computer desk though.

I guess it goes back to the other situation, if I get no reaction, I don't know if it meant anything to them.

Makes me want to just take it back and return it lol.

It's hard for me to show excitement over a gift. I try because it's important to the gift giver to feel like they've done good. Wonder if he has a lot of capricorn in his chart?

Me too!

Cap moon emotions are cool, controlled...I hate it. I want to be excited. To show pleasure, to show sadness, to show love...but, something pulls me back. It's hard because I know the other person wants to see it, but I just can't show it. I don't mind hiding the sadness, but I would like to be able to show excitement and I can't.

Even my son has accused me of being unemotional. He says I don't show any emotion except anger and irritation. It made me really sad to hear that. I try to show love, excitement, happiness, exaltation but sometimes when I try, it feels faked, like I'm trying too hard. I really want other people to know the good things I feel, I hope my actions represent, but more emotionally open signs don't always know what to look for.

So, that said. The fact that he keeps those things and displays them should SHOW you that he values them.

That's why your not getting a reaction from him. Question for you, this the Aqua you have made threads about before?

Yeah it is.

The thing is, I've always gotten people gifts that were heart felt and meant something to me or them or both. Last year I gave close friends a box with various things in side...jar of hot cocoa, one of my favorite christmas movies, christmas socks, christmas goodies etc.

I gave him a box but it had that book with funny family holiday pictures and a mini cooper mouse (his fav car).

Another aqua friend I gave him this chewbacca jacket (he's a star wars fan).

But this year, I'm just not feeling the festivities. I don't know maybe I just don't know what to get. I wasn't going to get anything for anyone other than family.

But then I'd feel bad when friends gave me stuff and I didn't do nothing likewise. Plus if he did give me a gift its usually something really unique (sometimes expensive). I'd feel awkward if I didn't even do anything.

In one of my birthdays, my friends gave me this one box full of seemingly random silly stuff, almost a rubbish, but tell things about me. I was laughing the whole time while I pick up each one. And that I think is one of the better gifts I had, and it almost cost nothing!

Aquarians put a lot of thought in their gifts, and price is not even a factor. We wanna show off how well we know the person, because that's our only way of showing affection really. It would mean much if you reciprocate that kind of effort 🙂

omg! saving cards and all types (christsmas, holidays, ect) i'm like that too!! ::cries:::
i have a big box of cards all saved up. Also, i save almost everything!! what a sentimental schmuck i am. i even save all the pens/pencils from places we've been to, like countries, hotel rooms, just small things like paper pads with the names on it, and when my husband used to work in other countries, i'd ask him to please take home something from where he went to. He always brings home something for us.

it's so stupid but i love it so much!! ^__^

also, if you want some good sentimental ideas, maybe starting from january 1st, you can remember what happened that day and put it in a diary. something significant, even if it's the weather. Or you saw a bluebird ect. then connect it with the day you spend everyday with your sweetheart. It's so sentimental and gooey. Hallmark cards can't beat that. By the time birthday or christmas comes around, you've got all the tools to even make a calender pad, with photos in it, or drawings or anything creative. It comes from the heart! and make it funny too! humour always puts the best smiles and happiness in your loved one's heart.

one time i saw a big chocolate that looked like a bottle of beer at one of the ice cream candy stores. You know how they sell big rabbits made out of chocolate? I know he loves those beers so i got it for him out of a whim and when he opened it he said he hated to eat it cause it's just so perfect. lmao!
i told him, but you gotta eat it! 😛 that's what the chocolate is there for.

I just wanna get back to this because this is interesting... and eerily familiar LOL!
My leo ex gave me a puppet of a character from my favorite comic strip - and I'm not really into cutesy stuff so I failed to show the level of excitement she was expecting. The thing is, it's not even my favorite comic character. Poor research.

Anyway, what I find interesting is the aqua friend part. You see, I behave differently in front of my friends than with my girlfriend. I do set lower expectations on my friends. My poor gf though, I would "subconsciously" expect so much more as she's supposed to know me more. If the aqua friend showed more interest, he's just being his outgoing and friendly aqua self. Check how your aqua man reacts when he receives gifts from his friends.

And I do keep the gifts on display. That's my way of showing that I do appreciate the gift and it is important to me (and it usually appeases the girl LOL!).

@notoriusaqua

I haven't seen anyone give him any "gifts". I mean when they go on trips they give him souvenirs that he'd like, and he'd say one of the following:

- "NICE!" (if its a truly unique thing i.e. a weird flavored soda you don't ever see anywhere)

- Thank you. that's nice of you (in a calm town when someone gave him mylar ballons and a gift card)

- or he doesn't say anything at all [which is what i've gotten as far as a reaction and in turn when he gives me gifts he waits until i'm not there...idk why but he has never given me the gift directly]

But yeah his aqua friend is more knowledgable in social ettiquite. He's more apt to compliment, take an interest in others etc. I'm sure his moon or venus is totally different

The aqua i'm referring to is so robotic seeming one minute and then overly does the jokes (same jokes as always...so cookie cutter).

I find it weird to see two aquas who are 4 days apart be so different.
