What to Do After an Earthquake
If you experience an earthquake, stay calm and move to a safe location. Drop to the ground, take cover under furniture or against interior walls, and hold on until shaking stops. Check for injuries and hazards once it’s safe to do so. Prepare an emergency kit and have a family plan in place for future quakes.

I can't tell the difference as we don't have tornadoes here. But I think earthquake it's kinda like the opposite of tornado.
In earthquake, it's best to go outside from the building or house whatever you are in to an open field/area and keep away from the big tall buildings.
But earthquakes are never long unlike tornado. It's only like 10 seconds on average.
