Communicating effectively

Does anyone else feel. Like their Mercury keeps them from communicating effectively?

My merc is in gemini and I express self in a very light hearted way... Even when things are terrible ...

My friend told me once everything is a joke with me until it not?

Example when my family member passed away I made a couple of dark jokes about death (not a respectful or healthy way to deal with death I know) but later my poor friend made the same joke a couple of weeks later and I started sobbing 😢 she felt really bad... Poor baby 😆

Edit: good things about Gemini merc being able to expess things in a logical way.. And not being married to my own ideas and thoughts.. If you can explain. Your ideas in a logical way.. I'm always open too them or if you can point out the flaws in my ideas in a logical way I willing to adjust them..

Virgo Mercury...clarity of thought is typically fine.

How would you say you express your self? If I was going strictly by your dxp post only I would say you express in very precise way...

My Virgo (still not ready to call her ex) has Mercury retrograde in her chart and communication has been our biggest issue.

No precision no logic

My thoughts have no backbone. Like an essay with no thesis statement

Constant (failed) attempts at jokes. At this point I'm not even trying because I know the joke will fail.

Boring. I never have anything to talk about. That's why my friends are distancing themselves from me. I'm too boring, never bring anything new to the table

My mind is empty. I say like five sentences a day. That's why I shitpost so much at DXP, to quench my verbal thirst

I talk too much about myself. If you press Ctrl F on my posting history and look up how many times I've used the word "I" you'll be surprised

😢 oh cloudy hunny don't be so hard on yourself... You have very clever mind ... You keep me guessing thats for sure! I personally feel like you don't talk about your self enough... I don't know much about the real cloudly... I wish you would share more people on here can be so helpful, wise and help you see past your own perspective

A simple sentence...

Mercury in Taurus is supposedly good for research - but it's probably the weakest placements for quick responses. Same goes for texting! ? I'm not always in sync with what's been said right away... It can take awhile...



Tho, later i may return with an in-depth response. Thus, it's more suitable for writing letters (like people used to write in the old days).

Lacking logical thought, I imagine things when people speak, and they think I don't listen, when really I am being drawn into the conversation in an imaginative way and see the whole story unfold inside my mind.

When I talk, people often don't understand. I find it hard to describe what I am thinking, since it's so emotionally wired. I also think that there are no words for what I mean. Literally, the words are so out of this world, and have not been invented, so it's impossible for me to explain.

This sounds so beautiful... And such a lovely way to think/ communicate things

Sag Mercury in 7th closely conjunct Neptune, and also closely opposite my Gem moon

I often have to slow down my verbal pace. My thoughts can fire very quickly, but if I match the speed verbally many people won't be able to follow what I'm saying.

Generally, I try to communicate in a way that can be understood -- that applies to how I speak and write. With my closer friends I'm usually able to communicate in a way that's more natural for me (fast, lots of tangents, analogies, symbolism, word play). They can understand me because they have a similar communication style .

Edit: it's weird on this site when punctuation gets messed up when it for sure has been used with correct spacing during composition. Case in point is the period at the end of my final sentence. Maybe it's just the use of the word style that's throwing things off -- that's been noted before I think.

That's exactly the Issue. My Gemini nature can be all over the place - while my Aries Moon makes me impatient. My Mercury in Taurus can't keep up with this two.I may write long messages at times, tho... despite of being a Gemini, i'm not that fond of talking on a daily basis. Or phone-calls. I keep loosing my number - cause i forget to renew my phonecard. That's how much i talk (months may pass without calling once / others calls me back).

Mercury in Gemini is a different story... Doesn't mater the Sun, you peps can talk and talk and talk some more... (:

Interesting topic. Im Taurus Mercury. Im not good at being in a crowd joking around. I dont mind joking, but Im more of a laugher I take the entertainment but not so much provide it. Feels like an expenditure of energy to always be thinking of what to say and say it. Often its easier to not. Im usually thinking about some plan or something. Plus Im more of an introvert with sometimes bursts of extroversion. So Im not one for constantly coming up with things to say/jokes. I like to think things over sufficiently before I say them. And Im not the start up convos and speak first to people type. I tend to let them speak first.

I love people that think things over before saying them... Its a rare trait to be blessed with these days!

Even tho, i have a logical side - which may stand out at times (as defined by my earthly Merc) - I tend to find this side of Mercury in Pisces quite puzzling - in a fascinating way (or maybe "charming" is the right word / the voice of an Aries with Merc in Pisces - does fit this description). There's some peps that are close to my heart with this placement - so i'm more or less familiar with it by now. And yet, i think... that side of yours is not defined by Mercury alone. My Mother is an Aquarius with Mercury in Pisces and she's quite pragmatic (fond of logic too) in her way of thinking.

Mercury in Cancer ("I feel like") sextile Jupiter (love) opposite Uranus (I should care, but I can't bring myself to)

The most troubling is my Merc opposite Uranus but at this point I don't see how fear of saying the wrong thing could benefit me. If I don't express myself, how will I find likeminded individuals? My coworkers like me most when I say wacky crap anyway. I believe in proving your character through meeting challenges and responsibilities and being unfailingly reliable. Spitting game is cheap.

my brother is a gemini with a cancer he expresses him in the most gentle way ...it always makes me more apt to listen to what he has to say ! not sure if it opposite uranus tho

Honestly, I just talk out of my ass. I also like studying people and how they communicate with others .. oddly, to learn how to talk to other people. It sounds weird but I really do like learning new social skills to be able to interact and be liked by people I meet or am interested in. I get in arguments just to see how people react while I have no emotion or real standpoint. When the heart gets involved in a conversation.. I tend to leave and go onto the next thing. Also, people say I say a lot of flighty things and always tell people I'll call them back and I always forget lmao. Indecisive and social basically.
