From http://saturnreturnstories.com/about/

The Saturn return, happening roughly between ages 27-31 and 57-61, is an important time in the life cycle when major restructuring can happen. Career pinnacles or endings, marriages and divorces, and having one’s first child are a few common ways this plays out. Other more colorful events can also occur, as you’ll see in some stories on this blog. Whatever it entails, it is a consequential time that deeply impacts the years that follow.

So, how long does Saturn return lasts? I see you guys talking about years?

Example Saturn is currently in Sag, and has been since 2014-2017,

So would your return start once Saturn returns in your natal sign?

My friends Saturn returns to her exact degree as her birth on her 30th birthday, around this summer, seems like 2016 and some of this year has been tough for her, good and bad.

I've been through my first one. I made a major change (ended a LTR) and came out of a low grade depression I'd been in since my early 20s. A good time for me, but I heeded the call, so to speak. It's believed that if you resist the lesson of Saturn, it will slam you much harder during your Saturn Return.

People who are very Saturnian may not have such a hard time -- they already integrate the energy and responsibility in the lesson.

An astrologer told me that if I had resisted, I might be dead by now -- I have strong Saturn influences in my chart, so if I had pushed against that and been a party girl type, I wouldn't have survived, he conveyed. I can't/won't test that, but it resonates. Sometimes we just know.

You have to consult an ephemeris to be exact, but I think that it might apply when Saturn is within a certain number of degrees on either side of your natal Saturn's degree. I don't know exactly how many degrees, though. Probably 10 on either side is generous enough.

Online ephemeris here:

That's true. How easy or how hard is a Saturn return - depends on ones level of maturity. Saturnians are already quite used to Saturn's rigid nature (serious, patient, disciplined, cautious, practical... ), so yeah... for some of them it could be just the usual. ^^

I agree. The astrology I mentioned has Saturn in his chart strongly and he said that Saturn transits, including Saturn Return, have been successful times for him -- very rewarding.

Truth be told: they're deserving... a life molded by Saturn's nature from an early is age - can be quite depressing - even if you think about it (a typical childhood is usually absent).

Other than that, it can be rewarding for most people (it force us to grow up in one way or another : ).

- around the age 27 - 30...

There's even a club - for the celebs that didn't make it:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club 😢

Some of them - were trying to evade Saturn's nature with the help of Neptune (drugs, alcohol, escapism and so on...). If there's a lesson here: try to be real and mature about it (whatever you're facing) - and you'll be just fine.
Geez

😢

Don't worry, you know what to expect and how to deal with it. You should be fine. 🙂

Right on!

Would also like to add that it's called a Saturn Return because it's the exact placement of the sign that Saturn returns to at the moment you were born! Since Saturn is a slow moving planet it happens up to 3 times. Or more... If we're lucky!

Happy Trails- this has been an experience on here(Dxp) for some as of late!

Good addition! Yes. I know someone who just went through her second Saturn Return, and another woman who might make it to her 3rd. 🙂

It normally happens around your 30th birthday

Why is it such a big deal

Just curious, have any of you gone through it?

Did you even notice it?

If yes...What happened?

Yes I'm Scorpio, went through it about a year back. I wanted to mostly comment to say that it happens before you are 30. I think between 27-29.

During the period I lost friends, got out of a job, and life just started to get serious. Life has never been the same since. You just become more of a adult and learn a lot of life lessons during that period. It's not the most joyful of times, but it serves to mature you.

Feels like they are people that one may have much to learn from- either way! 🙂

Imagine a person who is 100+ - "like you're still on you're 1st?... Yaaaa... My last was like fifty years ago." Wow.

Yes, for sure. 🙂 It's been interesting seeing what my friend who will be 60 soon has experienced. I know someone who is 101 so she's been through 3, but I don't know her well enough to ask her about her experiences 3x in her life.

It really depends on the house. Mine is 2nd, we were poor during my Saturn return, and lacked security in life.

My wife has it in 1st, she went through great personal changes, and when Saturn was EXACT return, she got really tired....both times....that was it. So it's really about the house.

It's been fucking me in the ass for the past several years.
What house?
Natally, my Saturn is in Scorpio, 5th house.
Oooh. This is a tough placement to have!

Why so?
Scorpio is meant to let go and Saturn restricts that. In relationships I've noticed that a person with Saturn in Scorpio holds on for much longer than needed due to the investment- at a great price to themselves.

I will call it the ride or die aspect though. This placement will do anything they can to make things work. I've seen a few people with this including a Scorpio Sun, Cancer and Gem Sun also. The Scorpio Sun seemed to deal with it the hardest and would never let things go in life. Seemed to repress a lot and would be vindictive to their close ones. But, also a very loyal and giving person- dependable during tough times, when anyone else would run.

Oh so you mean the scorpio part ? Not the house part....

But scorpios are hardasses they must like saturn. They'd kill themselves to win a bet —

I still don't understand what the Saturn returns means and does? I didn't feel it at all.
Are you having it right now?? What house?
House 7 ...And I'm 31 so I don't think I'm having it now

You dont even know the month when you had your Sat ret?

Look it up here : http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/ephemeris/ephemeris.html

7th house means it would affect relationships, your partner might become strict, seem boring, look older, you be with someone older, or befriend and older collegue...something along these line.s

Yeah, not before they destroy the other gambler 1st. 😉

No, I wasn't only speaking of Scorpios, other Sun signs were mentioned- just the way Saturn in Scorpio presented and showed in these specific signs(Astro speaking, of course).

I don't recall the houses, unfortunately.

But the 5th house is the house of satisfaction, friendship, romance, children. A Saturn in Scorpio could see the effects in these places or act with these influences in areas that mean a lot to them. They could also restrict themselves in these areas. Both signs are also fixed- so whatever it's set on, will be a long process to detach from, as it also took a long time to attach.

That's true Scorpios are all about destroying others!

I didn't say scorpios, l said the scorpio PART, the fact that Saturn IS IN SCORPIO ?

5th house isn't satisfaction, or friendship...not that l know of ? It's fun, gambling, hobbies, romance and children. Creativity. Romance means creative loving and the creation is kids. Things like that.

No a Saturn in anying cannot "see the effects in these places".... What happens is you don't feel like creating, or having fun. You don't see the point of art, or romance, or anything. It seems all so childish.

Scorpio mit actually be happy about this cause they're not into fun !!! They're into cold war !!!! So being in a place where creativity is viewed as childish and stupid, is absolutely the place they wanna be. They're serious as fvk and they will fvk people up, in the adult world, as seriously as possible. Perfect.

Did you find the month? Saturn will hit it 3 times, it goes back, and forward again. So maybe a few weeks at a time and over a period of 4 to 8 months.

I can't think of much from 2010 but 08/09 not sure which I cut ties with a couple of friends (one was my maid of honour at me wedding) loyalty is important to me and I take friendships very seriously.
