I have Sun in Cancer, 11th house and Mercury and Venus in Leo, 11th house. Leo is on the 12th house cusp. Mercury rules my 1st(Virgo) and 10th(Gemini) house cusps and Venus rules my 2nd(Libra) and 9th(Taurus) house cusps. By virtue that my Sun is in detriment by accidental dignity, other signs that are associated with the Sun, Aries(exaltation/8th house) and Leo(dominion/12th house), are also in detriment. The Moon in Aries(fall) dispositor of my natal Sun and square aspect to Sun further debilitates my Sun placement. Thankfully by dispositorship, Sun in Cancer and Moon in Aries are assisted by Mars in Scorpio, 3rd house, the most dignified planet in my chart.
A planet in detriment will effect the other signs and houses associated with that planet. In addition, a planet in detriment cannot except aspects. If you have Sun in 11th house in detriment then any aspects to or from the Sun will not operate correctly or if at all. Sun in Cancer and Moon in Leo are also peregrine by nature. You will be required to look to other more dignified planets in your chart for assistance.
The "saving grace" is that the 11th house is the house of "good fortune" and is quite auspicious as the house relates to cumulative wealth and dignity amoung social groups. The Sun also maintains some level of dignity by virtue that the Sun is the most dignified planet as the monarch or king of the skies and solar system and always maintains some level of strength regardless of the detrimental status.
I see many modern astrologers interpret Sun in the 11th house as someone sociable, popular and with many friends. I have never observed this to be true, personally. You will have no issue attracting friends however, they will be "fair weather friends", eventual enemies, superficial acquaintances or friends who leave your life, just as soon as they enter.
Great detailed analysis and its really true about the " friends ", I've always thought about it, I can make numerous eventual friends but I only have one real friend, most of these people think that Im fake because Im not attached to them.
I don't know why people relate the 11th house with wealth, I know this is the house of unexpected things or events but the house of wealth at least for me would be the 2nd or 7th houses (Venusians). Most of the Forbes top10 have a strong 2nd house, Bill Gates has Jupiter conj Pluto there, Warren Buffet has Jupiter and Pluto in the 7th...
