Libras the most misunderstood? (Page 2)

If then someone calls me a narcissist, not only am I not insulted, I am proud to be erroneously accused of it, which further proves my point. I can't and won't judge the entire sign based on the few that I have known; however, the few that I have known have been narcissist.
I am not surprised at the narcissist impression. I have had that comment before. I do believe it is the wrong word for the know-it-all streak we seem to have. We are intellectual and social, so we talk a lot, through which we develop a certain verve (which we already possess plenty of from the get-go), and when you combine the verve, the knowledge and the talkativeness, it makes sense to have that impression.
To me, it is nothing more than an impression. I am just having fun sharing and discussing knowledge, taking in as much as I provide. I do lose patience with and get bossy around people who partake in debate when they obviously suck at debate, but since bias and cognitive dissonance are mortal sins, I don't feel guilty about meting out commensurate punishment. 😉click to expand

Libras a lot of times are honestly good people who want to make everyone happy. It does get annoying how they would suppress what they want or how they really feel just to please you when they could have just spoken up and said what they wanted, but honestly they do it for the sake of the relationship. A lot of times, a Libra will seem very nice and social when behind he mask, they have their own agenda and are working towards that while stringing you along to have someone to talk to. They're social climbers who want to be out there but can be very indulgent and lazy. It's like they try to rely on their friendship with you to take them places.
Nah. IMO the most misunderstood are Scorpio/Taurus along with Aquarius and Virgo.
I don't think we are the most misunderstood.
I think it depends on the person...it's difficult to clump every person of every sign together.
I know some pretty awful people of each sign and some amazing ones too. But being on sites like this often (where people tend to vent about what went wrong vs. discussing what is going well) or reading stereotypical stuff about your sign/placements could drive a person who takes it seriously a little crazy...??
My thoughts on this are: There are some crazy, lying, off their rocker Libras out there.. and there are others who are not. It's as simple as that.
Know who you are and let the rest go.

Well, I am certainly fond of Leos, but only a 2nd decan Libra could write such a powerful and well-written (due I dare say) post. Sounded more like a sermon for a revolution. I suppose the 3rd could have written it just as well, but it would have been a bit "lighter."

Fire signs seems to see us as weak. Earth signs seem to see us as fake. Water signs seem to see us as emotionally retarded can we catch a break?! Haha.
Is it weak to not want to blow up in peoples faces and to try resolve things rationally. Is it fake to try and take on awkward/diffucult situations with a smile and a bit of humour? Is it cold to not base every decision on emotions amd how we "feel"?
I may be passive aggressive but I still get my point across, I am the strongest person I know (although I have mentioned I only really hang with Libras so maybe I'm just the least weak haha) and I can sympathize/empathize with those who have been wronged. I'm care free, fun, will always fight for the underdog (whether its me or someone I dont even know!) and Know exactly what I want and am not afraid to use my wit and charm to get it.
My scorps sister whos going through a lot at the moment actually admited the other day that she wishes she could be moe like me and not let things effect her and emotionally torment her and be less bitter about things and know how to take a joke at her expense. First time she had ever said anything positive about a Lbra lol

Sorry, but I wouldn't want to be you. :p There's an issue when you won't stand up for yourself when you're too concerned with keeping the peace. You appear as a doormat.
Libran traits aren't bad per se, but in certain situations, they really do NOT help you all much.
You're so worried about coming off as "nice" and don't want to rock the boat that you appear fake when it comes to this approach with people that you do not care for, you appear weak because this allows people to walk all over you, and you appear cold because your decisions are not only based on "non" emotional factors, but based in a very "me" centric approach (i.e. you walk away from someone because you're done, or change your attitude toward them, but you won't tell them why because OMG CONFLICT. You run off because you hope that they just "get" it.)
I think the only time that you could be considered "misunderstood" is when you all use your traits in the most inappropriate ways. There are just some things that are common decency that a lot of Libras don't really follow (or any air sign) as they should, hence all the "hate."
example- being flaky, admitting to being flaky, and then not understanding why people want to strangle you.
Or when you don't want to face conflict with someone when disappearing/changing your attitude toward them, etc. The only reason this is a problem is because the approach caters to your emotions and has total disregard for the other party involved. Cue you guys wondering why people "hate" you.

Being a libra, people that aren't super close to us, only know the surface. We are actually probably the strongest of the zodiac. We push aside our own emotions, and make rational decisions. We also stand up for fairness and justice. I've noticed through life, that many people will cry about petty things. Libras want to change the world. Their strength is overlooked by their peaceful nature. But don't let that fool you. I've had to stand up and do the most difficult things, that I know many others couldn't do. I'm not saying that to brag on myself, I'm saying that to encourage other Libras. We are misunderstood, but what others view as a weakness it actually a strength. Be proud of that! Also Libras, it's hard for us to feel misunderstood because we understand or try to understand everyone. It hurts when others don't give us the same time and attention.
Wow I'm Libra dominant, with Libra moon too. I can totally relate and agree with that post. I don't think many are as mentally strong as I am, the things I've had to go through, didn't crack under the pressure and it's definitely over looked because of my peaceful nature.

However if it's do with my children or I see someone been taken advantage of or the underdog I'm not scared to get stuck in and wipe the floor with people. Maybe that is my Pisces empathetic side coming out where I feel others pain so it fuels me as I know how they are feeling where as when it's myself I just pick myself up and dust myself off. I never ask anyone for help or to fight my battles but I'll be the first to help someone else.
Me as a Taurus Earth sign, I really tried to understand my libra friend whom I do like. Attention, space, all that. Just building a friendship first. But he just disappeared on me. So yes sometimes I do feel he was fake. Maybe I'm wrong.

But, Agree....weak, passive and non-confrontational is the last thing that I am, but it seems people have a hard time understanding that if their irrelevant, time is not wasted on trying to make you understand anything. Anyone and anything that is of importance to you, will be fully understood, and not much of an explanation is needed.
What is the point of swelling up your chest and flying off the handle with someone that holds little to no relevance in your life. Yes, there are times when you have to exert your anger, and trust me, I have not one an iota of problem doing that, but why waste time arguing with someone that's insignificant. Life's too short to be walking around polluting the air with temper tantrums. Soooo, you got it off your chest.....now what? At the end of the day I'm still going to do me no matter how much air you blow out of your azz, but if works for you, then do you. Thing is.....I pretty much knew that the entire time you were having an Exorcist moment and your head was spinning around and you were spewing your venom. My decision was already made and no amount of whining was going to make a difference, but because you don't get the reaction from a Libra that you are looking for doesn't mean they don't react.

i give zero fucks about what other people think about my libra placements. is that stereotypical? not really, and yet, here we are.
Well, I have a stellium of 5 planets in Libra and Mercury a bit behind also in the sign...that would make me fairly Libran, but a woman I should note. The thing is... strength, courage and resilience are qualities I get told I am having, paradoxically even people who dislike me seem to sort of grant me those and respect me for them.
About confrontation... I'm afraid it's just stuff projected on the sign for no good reason. I fight for what I think it's right, and I am definitely open and honest with people - some go awry cause they can't stand hearing about certain dimensions of reality. So yeah.
Also speaking of confrontation, when I have a question, I ask...and usually get an answer in one form or another. Meaning I don't really wait around upset because of a possible conflict that I imagine. Hmm. I didn’t even realize people had such hostility towards Libras as a whole. I assumed I just rub some people the wrong way because I like to keep shizz real and don’t sugarcoat anything. And what’s up with these weird sayings like “treetrunking” and such? I mean I get the jest of it but I’m curious as to how this made up language started. Is there like no cussing allowed or something?
As a Libra, I’m far from being a pushover. I’m actually probably the most confrontational person you’ll ever meet. But I also choose my battles. If you don’t like me, who the hell cares? I don’t like you either. If you’re not paying my bills or signing my paycheck, I could care less what your opinion of me is. I don’t like fake or two-faced people and prefer to not be bothered with them or have them around me. So yeah, I’m not gonna waste my time or energy arguing with someone who I could give two rats azzes about. But I’m also more loyal than a dog and if you come at my friends or loved ones, I will fight til my last breath to defend them. Like Tupac said, “your enemies my enemies. You ain’t ever had a friend like me.” Not sure how that would be considered a negative trait but I guess if people want to surround themselves around fake “priends” that can’t be trusted, to each their own right?
I guess I can admit to being arrogant... but I also have my “dumb blonde” moments and can laugh at myself or make jokes at my expense to lighten the mood and bring myself back down to earth. I don’t know if I agree with the whole “passive agressive” thing as I’m just too real to downplay anything. If I don’t like you, trust me, you’ll know it!! Lack of respect for other people’s dignity? Again we go back to the “keeping it real” comment..... I’m not trying to hurt your feelings. Personally I would rather someone tell me if I have toilet paper stuck under my shoe, or a big cliffhanger hanging from my nose, then to laugh about it behind my back or let others see me like that. I’m just extending the same courtesy to you that I would hope you would do for me.
With the whole, not accepting personal responsibility?? Hmm. I mean if you think I don’t accept personal responsibility, then you’re assuming you’re right and I’m wrong yes?? Well I’m NOT wrong. So maybe YOU’RE the one not accepting personal responsibility? Just food for thought 😉
Ok so I guess yeah maybe a lot of these do apply to me, after all. But many don’t as well. I’m not gonna let some horoscope define me. While I may share similar personality traits with others of my sign, it’s my cultures, family, and life experiences that have molded me into the person I am today. Can’t nobody put me into a prepackaged box because I’m one of a kind.
And can somebody PLEASE share with me what all these other moons and extras phases and stuff are about? All I know is I’m a Libra. But you guys are adding all kinds of cool extra stuff that has sparked my interest 🙂

2) it's "couldn't care less". if you "could care less", it means you have some level of caring. step it up.

See this is what confuses me I dont see Libras as door mats. I have never seen a Libra stay quiet. Your description of a Libra is nothing like how I am or how the ones I know are. I have never "ran away" or "backed down" to keep the peace. My dad (cancer) has always called me a trouble maker because I always go against the crowd.
I also remember a few years ago a post where it seemed a lot of us Libras had all been debt collectors now that is hardly non confrontational lol.

Hmm. I didn’t even realize people had such hostility towards Libras as a whole. I assumed I just rub some people the wrong way because I like to keep shizz real and don’t sugarcoat anything. And what’s up with these weird sayings like “treetrunking” and such? I mean I get the jest of it but I’m curious as to how this made up language started. Is there like no cussing allowed or something?
As a Libra, I’m far from being a pushover. I’m actually probably the most confrontational person you’ll ever meet. But I also choose my battles. If you don’t like me, who the hell cares? I don’t like you either. If you’re not paying my bills or signing my paycheck, I could care less what your opinion of me is. I don’t like fake or two-faced people and prefer to not be bothered with them or have them around me. So yeah, I’m not gonna waste my time or energy arguing with someone who I could give two rats azzes about. But I’m also more loyal than a dog and if you come at my friends or loved ones, I will fight til my last breath to defend them. Like Tupac said, “your enemies my enemies. You ain’t ever had a friend like me.” Not sure how that would be considered a negative trait but I guess if people want to surround themselves around fake “priends” that can’t be trusted, to each their own right?
I guess I can admit to being arrogant... but I also have my “dumb blonde” moments and can laugh at myself or make jokes at my expense to lighten the mood and bring myself back down to earth. I don’t know if I agree with the whole “passive agressive” thing as I’m just too real to downplay anything. If I don’t like you, trust me, you’ll know it!! Lack of respect for other people’s dignity? Again we go back to the “keeping it real” comment..... I’m not trying to hurt your feelings. Ok so I guess yeah maybe a lot of these do apply to me, after all. But many don’t as well. I’m not gonna let some horoscope define me. While I may share similar personality traits with others of my sign, it’s my cultures, family, and life experiences that have molded me into the person I am today. Can’t nobody put me into a prepackaged box because I’m one of a kind.
And can somebody PLEASE share with me what all these other moons and extras phases and stuff are about? All I know is I’m a Libra. But you guys are adding all kinds of cool extra stuff that has sparked my interest 🙂

Sorry, but I wouldn't want to be you. :p There's an issue when you won't stand up for yourself when you're too concerned with keeping the peace. You appear as a doormat.
Libran traits aren't bad per se, but in certain situations, they really do NOT help you all much.
You're so worried about coming off as "nice" and don't want to rock the boat that you appear fake when it comes to this approach with people that you do not care for, you appear weak because this allows people to walk all over you, and you appear cold because your decisions are not only based on "non" emotional factors, but based in a very "me" centric approach (i.e. you walk away from someone because you're done, or change your attitude toward them, but you won't tell them why because OMG CONFLICT. You run off because you hope that they just "get" it.)
I think the only time that you could be considered "misunderstood" is when you all use your traits in the most inappropriate ways. There are just some things that are common decency that a lot of Libras don't really follow (or any air sign) as they should, hence all the "hate."
example- being flaky, admitting to being flaky, and then not understanding why people want to strangle you.
Or when you don't want to face conflict with someone when disappearing/changing your attitude toward them, etc. The only reason this is a problem is because the approach caters to your emotions and has total disregard for the other party involved. Cue you guys wondering why people "hate" you.
However, in the appropriate situations, these traits aren't really bad. You're around a hostile situation with some jerk? You can keep the peace and work that Libran charm to get them to stfu.
Abusive relationship? Hypothetically, I can see you guys walking away when you're fed up (though many Librans I know keep themselves in ridiculous situations because of... dun dun dun conflict is teh scurry!).
Don't get me wrong, this isn't a hateful response, but purely observation from the many I've known. I've had to defend a few on some occasions because someone is taking advantage of their easygoing nature and it kinda pisses me off.

I mean when you start adding all those moons and stars and what have you, I noticed basically every single personality trait was listed. For instance, one section says I love to travel and another section says I’ll be happier staying in one place... 🤔 so which one is it?? Haha! I guess these things are designed so you can pick and choose which one applies to you 😂😂

Every time you correct someone’s grammar, you might as well instead say, “I think I’m smarter than you.” And sorry, I don’t care how well you performed in English Lit class, unless you’re an engineer or rocket scientist, chances are, you’re not smarter than me. English is just one language out of many, but math is universal.
And FYI, you shouldn’t presume to be an expert on the way people communicate in every single culture.... because you’re not. Urban Dictionary was just an example I used because it’s widespread and something more people can relate to. But Pidgin or “Broken English” IS part of my culture. When a significant percentage of the population is comprised of uneducated blue collar workers or immigrants with English as their second language, you have to relate with them on a common level. You cannot build working relationships with people when you have a pompous, holier than thou attitude. It alienates and belittles people. And in some cases, it’s just plain mean. You need to assess your audience and communicate with them accordingly. Maybe that’s just my “Libra personality” talking, trying to please everyone. While you call it “ignorance,” I like to think it’s about having common decency and consideration for others, regardless of their education level or background. When you talk “above” someone with little to no education, how do you think that makes them feel?
With that said, unless I’m drafting an email or a letter to give to a client, I write how I normally speak. I have no need to prove my level of intelligence by demonstrating how gracefully I embrace the English language. My reputation precedes me and everyone who matters knows I’m competent and excel at what I do. And seeing as how I work with numbers, formulas, and calculations all day, I COULD CARE LESS, if I incorrectly construct a sentence when posting a COMMENT ON A BLOG.

I know this is super old but LMAO!! People really do have misconceptions of us I'm nearly baffled. I mean everyone is different regardless of their sign. People think I'm a Scorpio (I have Moon & Mars in Scorpio), but they're amazed to know I'm a Libra. Of course everyone should want peace in general but I'm the type of Libra that DOESN'T GIVE A F*** what you think and I'm as blunt as can be. Unlike my husband who is an Aries, he acts nothing like it. He's not impulsive, very quiet, and is very down to earth. It all depends on the person themselves. Their environment, culture, child hood, etc. Looking at just the Sun sign is a bunch of shit and people who really think bias of every sign is ignorant and closed minded. Fire signs seems to see us as weak. Earth signs seem to see us as fake. Water signs seem to see us as emotionally retarded can we catch a break?! Haha.
Is it weak to not want to blow up in peoples faces and to try resolve things rationally. Is it fake to try and take on awkward/diffucult situations with a smile and a bit of humour? Is it cold to not base every decision on emotions amd how we "feel"?
I may be passive aggressive but I still get my point across, I am the strongest person I know (although I have mentioned I only really hang with Libras so maybe I'm just the least weak haha) and I can sympathize/empathize with those who have been wronged. I'm care free, fun, will always fight for the underdog (whether its me or someone I dont even know!) and Know exactly what I want and am not afraid to use my wit and charm to get it.
