To be happy with where I work I'd first have to be happy with myself. That it itself is a neverending process.. so, no lol.

thank you.

I understand this. I wonder if there is any job or business

out there that could help with this though for you.. . help you feel better about yourself..

I can’t say

But I love it. Work n home n travel is my life

how long did it take you to find something that you enjoy

AND make a living from it? And do you feel this world is not

suitable for introverts or that it's harder or easier?

I guess I’m introverted, but I kinda learned to be outgoing and energetic at work since I’m a good leader and take on management roles. But in my personal life I’m a total homebody and really bad in social situations.

Currently a store manager for another 5 weeks, and then I’m opening up my own store 🙂 15 years in the making. Lol. Lots of hard work but I’m super excited.

I’m a nurse and I’m an introvert, but I’m also an empath. Yes I enjoy my job but it is extremely draining.

I admire your profession a lot: making a difference, caring for others... Ect.

I'd describe myself just like you did :

Empath.. Introvert....!

You working online for the store or brick and mortar?

Had an online business for years now and opening up a brick & mortar next month.

I think it can be. I find it super hard to sell myself to people in interviews for example. But I work really hard and got good skills. In the past I’ve been lucky with referrals or have worked my way up (f.e. from a part time sales associate to a manager within less than 2.5 years)

This is an interesting comparison!

Major introvert here, don't love my job. I work as a Hearing Instrument Specialist, so I assist the hearing impaired (sell, adjust & maintenance hearing aids, counsel and offer support in regard to Hearing loss and Tinnitus). I love helping people, but this isn't what I want to do until I retire.

oh wow. What are some good things you like about working here?

I work from home. Extroverted introverts don't do well with a lot of people. People don't like hearing that staying home alone is better than going to coffee with them. When I worked outside coworkers would do lame shit at bars and sit around talking about me.

When your fun time is so fun that talking about a woman at home reading a book is your excitement.. count me out lol.

Yeah, I only want to go out to coffee with someone (just 1 at a time)

who is calming and doesn't bring a lot of stress. And that high school

babble has got to go. You get to see the quality of someone when they

constantly talk bad about you behind your back. But...

you work for another business from home? Was it easy to get that?

Or you work for yourself from home?

I'm too introverted for work

but seriously, you seem to be doing pretty well from what ive seen

do you seriously identify more with being an introvert

i've never tested as an extrovert in any of those mbti tests ever

i do test as an enneagram 3 which is more outgoing

lately i have been thinking of how to retire in the country but maybe i have just been encountering horrible traffic

oh wow. Enneagram 3?

I've never done this test before. I will to see what it says.

didn't you go to Japan recently? Would you retire there?

Do you feel like Japan is more suitable for introverts? I do.

Naw not at all. Being a boss and having your own business is too much pressure. I'm gonna quit all that soon. The shit I'm into is for extroverts. I don't need it and don't have to work if I choose not to.

yeah i went to tokyo

it's so packed though

i'm thinking retirement would be far away from subway commutes

i think introverts can flourish in extrovert countries but would not work the other way around

I mean away from all that. Yeah Like near the countryside...

but even still. I feel like the culture in Japan respects

more of the quiet life, and way of being an introvert

more than western countries(?) Like they respect it.

For example, Be quiet on the train...

Don't bring so much attention to oneself...etc...

I don't know... I agree though, we can flourish in

extrovert countries. I'm just being difficult I guess...

Whaaa tell me about it. I always say being a boss is for extroverts since they likes to lead and show off about it thinking their high above everybody. I don't know what could have came over me when I decided on being a boss of all things. I must've been smoking some hard ass shit at the time.

And yes indeed others picks up on me and I hate that. I'm one that hate telling people what to do that was never my thing but as a boss I feel I have to lead by examples.

Hate to get all in conclusions but this sag girl that was working for me for a good long while I finally fired her only to turn around and hire someone 10 times worse. Dude stupid as shit too. And he's a Scorpio. I don't know if that's any relavant to this topic but i feel I had to release my pent up frustration somewhere.

Yes, I agree with you, Aju! I think you're an INFP, right? I am as well. The Western culture thrives off of extraversion and sometimes, it can just be too much. So, I definitely empathize with you < 3

I am. I've taken the test several times and it always goes to INFP.

As a male like this (which they say is even more rare) I feel like I'm looked down

upon for being this way. lol did you look at my other thread ?

Well, I'm a nursing student; however, I have a hard time keeping up with the life and demands. I sometimes get into my own head and drift off thinking about other concepts. It does not help with my success what-so-ever. I have a hard time keeping my motivation because I want to know about the deeper things of the universe and stay in my head all day. It can be tiring; however, I know in the long run it will all be worth it. I just try to overcome my weaknesses and keep pushing forward.

wow. You have the right idea because it will be worth it.

I feel like it will be so much harder to do this when you're older so good you are

nursing student now. more responsibilities pile up the older you get.

Whether you want them or not. Just keep going. Keep building

that foundation. It's very important

oh God and I know it must burn to do that. To put so much

faith into someone, so much trust and then for them to be

worse than the last one. Is she still working for you?

Maybe there is a way to influence her change for

the better? Do you have any introverted leaders

you look up to? I always felt like George Washington

was an introvert. There are so many.

Naw she doesn't work for me anymore.

It does seem like all my biggest influencers are all extroverts. Yeah I know. It's hard to believe. And if I do have anyone I look up to would be loners. They can inspire me to not worry about nothing and that everything's gonna be alright more than anybody. I would think true hardcore loners doesn't care about being a leader.

Was George Washington a loner? Because you have some people that are an extroverted introvert. Most introverts (a true hardcore one) are too shy to be a president and wouldn't have any idea what to say behind a podium in front of a large capacity. In George Washington days politicians would gather around a table with maybe a small handful of audiences.
