Sign language must be awesome to know! Think I should learn it some time. How hard is it?
English - Native speaker
Russian - I'd say basic but some Russians I know say that I am more than basic and I can certainly understand quite a bit
German and French - I just know a few words, enough to read a menu and order something that I at least will find tasty.
But then I'm a xenephobic Englishman who hates other cultures and shouts at people in English when I am not understood as I think that shouting will some how help the other person understand what I am trying to tell them π
apologies for any typo's as I am just a little drunk after enjoying some red wine (hic)...

Since you speak Hungarian..you could also say you speak at least a tiny bit of Finnish..since both languages (weirdly enough) are related to each other π

For some reason, I don't believe you speak all those languages fluently.
Like the Beatles' song says "It's easy, if you try.."
Posted by tiziani
English, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic but the only language I'm completely fluent in is Romanian.
Arabic! Is it related to your background or you just wanted to learn it?

So I will now revoke your "I am awesome" card.

Haha honestly - I have tried. I think that's a myth. They do sound slightly similar, but Finnish is still gibberish to me π
And you speak fluent German? I AM German, but I will spare you a test to confirm your fluency π

Ex was from one of the fromer USSR states.
Also I am a lefty, apparently an unusually high percentage of left handers learn Russian, IDKW...
When listnening to a particular language and after learning the basics I can pick up the rest quite quickly.
I've not spent much time in the presents of speakers of foreign languages so only certain basiocs ap[art from Russian.
It's taking me ages to type out the most simplest of sentences, I think I am going to go to bed and try and get sober...
Langauage that I'd like to become fluent in though is German, so if anyone is happy to help let me know, I am kind of busy at the moment but I'd be happy to help you with your English if you need help.
Romanian - C2
English - C1/C2
French - B2 (used to be C1 but I have lost it)
Italian - B1
Spanish - B1
Latin - A1
I have days when I feel I can't even speak English properly. Standards too damn high, which makes it hard to gauge. I get very self-conscious about it and I shut down.
If I don't speak it daily, it's not up to my standards.

French Italian and Spanish are all the same language anyway.Arguably Romanian too but not really.
Yeah, it should be the same but not at all...the slavic prononciation makes us sound..not latin at all. That and the really hard grammar. I always find it peculiar that Asians master Romanian best...to the point where I cannot tell it's not their first language. Fellow Europeans struggle.
I'm fluent in Latin.
Papa Francesco is a friend of mine.
Fluent in Russian and English, know basic French, and currently learning Serbian

Mandarin - basic conversational, can structure sentences but need to increase my vocabulary
Japanese - some sentences and words but lost it now
Egyptian Arabic - rude words mainly
German - can understand small amount but can't structure sentences to speak it - 3 years of learning it at school was wasted. I'm even part German!
