Im so sorry. Its awful.

A good friend of mine grew up there and knew some of the families. She is going to the vigil and i may join her. The families need all of our support. Its devastating

Maybe I know your friend. I’m going to the vigil even though it’s going to be really hard for me. The majority of people who died are from my hometown. I went to high school with many of them.

Death has always been a challenging concept for me to grasp. And more challenging when it happens to someone unnaturally and someone so close to my age. The affect that it has on a small community. How can we lose so many people in one day. I’ve known a few of these people since I was little and others for almost 15 years. It shouldn’t be the end. And then I think about what their families are going through. How I went to school with their siblings as well. They post pictures of them together today on Facebook. Small children losing their parents. People posting #AmsterdamStrong All of this just makes my world feel cold today. You see this on TV oh so often, but you never imagine how it really feels until it actually happens to you.

I’m sorry. There’s a lot of thoughts going through my head. Thanks to anyone who listened.

You may know her. Shes older than me and definitely older than you so it would probably be through you parents. Her brother died in a car accident in that same area a long time ago. She feels a comnection to the victims families.

Wow that’s awful. It sounds like a very dangerous road. I’ve never actually been there. I did hear that the breaks stopped working in the limo and that’s why it crashed. But I’m not sure how much truth there is to that. I mean it’s definitely possible. That’s why runaway ramps exist. To help stop a deadly crash when breaks fail.

Ok how the fuck does crashing into a standing SUV kill 20 people seatbelts or no seatbelts?! How fast were they going anyway?

A head-on collision with a moving truck on a highway warrants 20 deaths, but this seems a little odd..

The limo was traveling for a long time down a hill and supposedly the breaks gave away. So it couldn’t stop. If that’s true. It’s not uncommon. Google runaway ramps. FYI That’s what I heard. Maybe the limo driver thought crashing into a parked car would stop them— I don’t know. Seems fishy that he couldn’t avoid the two bystanders.
