I have to see how many people sign up. I'm aiming at a hopeful 15-20.

Based on that I have to figure out the number of roles.

As a general idea it's an investigation game that will take place between players. You have to figure out who are the bad ones that need to be eliminated from the beautiful dxpuniverse.

Let's begin:

In its simplest form, Mafia consists of two sides: the Mafia, and the Town. The Mafia's goal is to kill the innocents, while the Town's goal is to kill the Mafia.

At the beginning of the game, the Moderator will secretly send everyone their role. The Mafia will know each other, while everyone else will only know their own role.

The game has two phases, the first of which is Day. During Day, the Town must choose someone to Lynch; they are trying to eliminate the Mafia, but the Mafia can lead them astray by casting suspicion elsewhere. Generally, players will vote for someone they think is Mafia (the Mafia will vote so that they seem to be doing this as well, and might even vote for each other to confuse the Town); when a player gets a majority of the votes, they are lynched. Their role is revealed by the Moderator, and it becomes Night.

During the Night, the thread is locked and no one can talk publicly. The Mafia, however, can speak to each other privately to plot strategy and decide who to murder before the next Day begins. In this way, they can silence members of the Town who are threats to them. At the end of the Night, the murder is carried out and another Day begins. In effect, the Town gets to kill someone, and then the Mafia gets to kill someone.

The game alternates between Day and Night until either the Mafia are eliminated, or the Mafia have killed everyone else (or nothing can prevent the same).

During these hours, all of you (townies+ mafia) post in this topic and debate who among you is part of the mafia. You each one vote, that has to be cast before 10PM. With one hour to closing time, I will show up in the topic and remind you all to cast your votes. You are allowed to change your vote during Day time but the vote I will count will be the last one posted before 10PM

Night time : 10PM - 10AM EST

During the night I will ask the the cop, the mafias, the slut and the doctor to PM me their choice. If you are a townie with no special powers, it's advisable to keep low and not post on the topic, lest the evil mafias see your name and pick YOU.

In this game there will be 6 mafias, 1 cop, 1 doctor, 1 slut, 7 townies

I will use a random generator for the roles. They are as follows:

Mafia: If you receive a "You are mafia" PM from me, you are mafia. In the same PM I will also tell you the names of the other 5 mafias. During the day, you will attend town meetings and discuss and vote to try to take a townie out. During the night, you and your fellow 5 mafiosos will discuss and send me a PM with the person you want killed. It has to be a unanimous choice between the 6 of you

Townie: If you receive a "You are a townie" PM from me, you are a townie. Your role in this game is to attend town meetings during the day and discuss and vote on who you think the mafia is.

Cop. The person that will get a "You are the cop" PM from me, will be the town policeman. During the day , you work with the townies in trying to vote a mafia out. During the Night, you will PM me the name of a person you want investigated. If I reply "Yes", that person is part of the Mafia, if not...the person isn't.

Doctor. The person that will get a "You are the doctor" PM from the me can save a person every night. He/She just has to send me the name of the player he/she wants saved for that night. Cannot save the same player 2 nights in a row. Saving yourself is also allowed but again, not 2 nights in a row. The doctor also debates in the town meetings

The slut. As the night falls on DXPville, the creatures of the night start frolicking too. The slut will send me a PM with a name of the player he/she wants to fuck. If that name corresponds to any of the 6 mafias, no one will die that night. The slut also takes part in the town meetings.
