Since everyone is already going negative, I'll play devils advocate.

Strangers only know what you chose at that moment to divulge.

Friends (close friends that is) have more information. So their support may be more of the tough love variety. Especially if they've seen you make the same choices and then come crying to them when those choices go south. Yet. Again.

in the last few years i've seen some best friends change up on me and act envious. never thought i'd see the day. people start hating when they're stuck, stagnant, and miserable.

^This

Friends are in our intimate/personal space while strangers are in the social/public space.

I think it's better to look at the pattern with friends and the interaction you have with them to determine the quality of the relationship.

Everybody wants and needs a win in their life from time to time.

If friends win by supporting/helping you they think they lost their value.

Strangers don't feel that thus they support you and get their win.

Interesting concept...hitting the like button could diminish their own value.

Wow.

Interesting.

So even if what your putting out has nothing to do relationships it's just a piece of creative work, friends dont see it like that. They see you as the a conglomerate of all your life choices.

No strings attached. It's not like you can count on the support of a specific stranger (to be there for you), for free. I mean, for a certain price - you might get the help you need from all kinds of strangers.

N why is it negative or unsupportive if a freind calls u out on your butter. I’m not supporting my cheating cousin on his behavior because I have his back

This issue is more of a creative arts one.

Not relationships.

can you be more specific? are they not promoting you ....not coming to see your act? not sharing gig dates? it´s hard to tell from what you shared.

is it possible your friends don´t see a creative potential and don´t want to lead you on?

if a friend of mine was not good at what he/she was doing ...i´d be constructive but still say what i think, if asked. i could not let my friend live in a delusion.

Yeah, my show, nobody came.

But yes, I do agree that some of my friends dont see my creative potential. Or dont want to see it.
