Such people are afraid their real persona will be offputting to whomever they desire to associate with but are essentially too weak to hold out and find someone who wont find it unappealing.

I find some libras to be of this variety trying so desperately to regurgitate the mainstream norm, just to be liked by the hens/sheep. Because backbone doesnt come as standard equipment.

"Change everything, except your wife and children"

That is the motto of the man leading one of the most successful business in the world: Samsung.

I completely agree, since I have no wife or children 🙂
It is dangerous when you dont know the context in which this was said and sell it as a truism.

Context=this was said when Samsung was nothing but a TV and appliance manufacturer iirc.

Would you say he would say such a thing again now, at the pinnacle?

Yes, of course he would not disown the very trait that made him enormously successful.

You guys really make me laugh. It's like you try to fit someone in a drawer and then got offended that things are not as you thought they are. Drawers are for old stuff, not for interesting people. They change, evolve, learn new things, get better at many things with time.

Learn from them!

You must’ve misunderstood my original post.

I was talking about people who bend themselves backwards for somebody they’re into and betray their own identity. They lose themselves.

They’re conpletely different from people who adapt. You can adapt and stay true to oneself.

There are of course people who use the excuse of “You don’t understand, I’m so adaptable”. Because people hate their bubble being burst and being pointed out that they’re delusional and their situation needs fixing. I’ve “lost” two friends that way who were in denial, both were dumped by their partners-on-pedestal in a matter of weeks. People hate the truth.

i think the op meant when the change is not honest nor natural, just serves a certain purpose. and you as a friend is supposed to nod at all the sudden new interests, attitudes, even body language. like who the fuck are you now?

Yes. I just ditched my bestfriend of 16 years for this and her drama.

When I met her, she was just dating her now husband. He was alternative in style , and laid back. So her style was laid back and alternative. Wasn't someone you'd see in make up or hoochie clothing. They divorced and she started dating a new guy. Suddenly she wants her whole back tatted and a sleeve, cause thats what he likes. She starts dressing like she lives at forever 21, and won't leave the house without fake lashes. Then he wanted her to get breast implants and so she starts wanting them too. Fast forward 3 years, they break up and she starts dating someone else. She starts toning down the hoochie clothes, adopts a less glamour look. Now she doesn't want implants but a bunch of piercings he likes on girls.

I finally had enough and said nope.

yes every pisces iv known in love loses all sense of self preservation for the person they are "in love" with. The more mature ones know not to fall for someone without at least some shared values, but in the end of the day will definitely change/ bend for their partners. I wouldn't say they lose interest in their friends, however their friends get pushed further in to the backs of their minds.

I wasn't shaming. Pisces is my favorite sign. Both my parents and the love of my life. But I was just talking from personal experience.
