What do I think of Asians?

hmm. I would like to educate them that Rhino horn does NOT give you a bigger boner and improve your sex life..... in fact is made of nothing more than Keratin.

For that all important sex life, you may as well chew on your nail, cow hoof or someone's hair.

So no. Rhino horn will NOT take away your fever and to me you even less important buying it for status reasons.

They're fine. Some aspects I notice are hard working, respectful, loyal, and intelligent. Very crafty and great at making eletronics. Sometimes they can be so loyal however they gladly follow people who might not exactly have the best intentions for those who follow them. All in all I feel most Asian cultures keep balance in the world, respect law and order, and tend to keep peace or neutral standings with others. Much better then some places.

I thought this was a thread about how living white people feel about asians.

Don't feel special. Whites have a long history of misuse of all immigrants in this country.

I think asians have made leaps and bounds in cali. And your actually starting to see depictions of fleshed out Asian characters in film/tv outside the typical villain/ninja warrior story.

It's by no means an equal representation but it's getting better.

Not my problem if u can't evaluate your statement to see your underlying prejudice

Leaps & bounds based on what premise?

Whose idea was it to project them in this manner?

Getting better from what?

From being historically only portrayed in Hollywood as the villain or the Jackie chan karate hero. I said it right there in my statement.

Step out of your feels and re-read.

i'm kinda curious
Outside of the major metro areas like most of California and New York City, most Americans(ie. white people) dont have exposure to actual asians, so they draw their judgments and thoughts on what they see on TV, same for mexicans, middle easterners, etc.

Seeing more Asians in movies outside of kung fu and ninja movies is actually always a pleasant surprise for me. Whenever I see an Asian character in a "different" movie, I always say "ooh look, an Asian guy"

Also, less people are coming up to me and jokingly saying phrases like "wax on wax off" and "ancient Chinese secret"

Steven Yeun on the Walking Dead has to be my absolute favorite.

Which is why its so awesome to see actual asian characters with a well thought out plot line and character development. Its 2017, stereotypes need to be put to bed.

I actually totally agree here. I was very disappointed when they killed him off 😩 I was so upset I was going to stop following the series, but on the contrary, I continued watching and am currently to it. Can't wait for the next season drop this month.

Not alot of strong Asian male roles in American TV and if they are there, they die lol

I briefly did stop watching but now I'm caught up again.

He died in the comics so I knew it was coming. Still was so brutal to my heart. He was the most likable character so it makes sense they killed him off. But still...*tear

I agree, and I thought about taking this course when I have more time:

https://www.coursera.org/learn/america-through-foreign-eyes/

She has four main segments:

- america through african eyes

- america through chinese eyes

- america through french eyes

- america through mexican eyes
