This is closer to what I was thinking.
There's a fine line in a situation like this-- if you've been married
for a long time, and someone has been beside you through thick
and thin... do they really deserve to shoulder the burden of your
betrayal, if it is in the past?
Are you telling them so they can make an honest decision?
Or so you can absolve your own conscience?
I think it's often the latter... and the reality is that it's probably something
the spouse has already reckoned with, and chosen to ignore.
Much harder if you erase all doubt and shove it in their face.
Though it depends on the situation, it's often more merciful to keep the
past in the past, carry your own burden, and walk straight.
I fail to see the nobility in ruining someone else's life to appease your
guilty soul.

"Remain Happy" might be some lottery tickets in there... testing your miserableness for life. Nobody wants to share that attitude with a couple million dollars.
You wouldn't believe how much idgaf. I enjoy life.
Remain happy
Because no matter we annoy each other sometimes because of our differences in life, the truth is my wife loves me with all her heart, same thing I love her with my heart and I can see that how much she loves me through words and action and she can see that how much I love her through words and action.
Heck my wife and I met when were still in high school and I hear lots of people saying high school relationship don't last because of immaturity, people change later in life, etc and now what we're still together and remain loyal to each other no matter what life throws at us.
I guess people should know their worth first before settling down and never settle for less.

I'd let her decide. It's obviously something she has on her mind, I'm fine if she wants to share it or if she doesnt. If "remain happy" means nothing was in it then fine, if it means more of something else also fine, but this more about the person giving the choice than the person making the choice.

If that's the case how could they allow you to choose the other option of remaining happy in a perfect marriage. People who are no longer in love can not give the other spouse a happy fulfilling marriage of perfection. It's impossible we aren't robots.

Okay, okay, okay...
A close friend of mine has been married for 10 years. The best married couple I've seen. Not from the outside looking in, their declaration of love to each other on an ongoing basis is inspiring.
They both said they feel their marriage is perfection.
One day, my friend went to the kitchen. She saw two envelopes laying on the table waiting for her.
One read "Remain Happy" the other read "The Truth"
When she found the envelopes, she panicked and started calling family and friends asking what she should do.
Thinking the worst, she started to pick up the "The Truth" envelope but then she hesitated
She thought to herself, "our marriage and life has been perfect. There is no hidden truth to us. Everything we have and done for and with each other has been completely honest".
She reaches for the "Remain Happy" envelope and opens it.
It reads,
"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's your birthday. You're reading this because when I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you, I had taken up a true Queen that will be by my side till the end of time. I never regret the day you chose me to lead us into our wonderful life. I love you always. Here is my card, go buy something nice for tonight. She called him and told him what she wore on their first date. He cried tears of joy. Said he cried because he's glad she trust him enough to think the good of their situation as opposed to what nasty truth could be awaiting the other envelope. He told her to open it.
Inside the envelope were all of the love letters she wrote him through the years, ticket stubs from movies they had seen together and two tickets to board a plane and reservations to Paris. It includes a note that said, truth is, I've only had eyes and a heart for you. You speak my love language, and your presence brings the sweetest song to my heart. Let me take you to the land of love, make love and make more memories. All that I ask of you is that we have another baby.
When you get this message, call me and tell me your best fragrance I wear.
