( haven't seen the movie yet! Possibly very soon! )

Apparently alot of people loved this movie but the critics are destroying it...

It's apparently the first attempt of Netflix with a blockbuster movie / big budget movie

this was expected i think..

The industry won't let this happen to them..

Now with Netflix people can watch a blockbuster in their living room, on their fucking couch!!

this is a threat for the cinemas, theaters, warner bros, disney, universal pictures, Sony and all those billionaires.

the critics have been paid by those guys to destroy this attempt by netflix.

everything's a rich man's trick

That makes a lot of sense. wow

In general, I honestly can't stand critics or Rotten Tomatoes.

The way they pull art apart only being analytical to throw it away.

Like it has to fit this perfect mold of what intelligence is to them to finally see it's beauty.

The peoples truth will always get out and be and if we decide that we'd rather watch movies

at home then that day will come. Sad how they would try to go that low and destroy for their gain.

I really like it.

Will Smith is aging nicely and I missed his presence onscreen.

He definitely brings something to the table.

I also like the fantasy and racial undertones.

I loved Nick his partner. So green and true to his novice position.

I loved the Compton feel of the movie. Gritty.

I hated his wife and kid. Totally did not fit.

Yes. I loved all of it.

The wife and kids. Hmm...

Yeah He might as well just lived alone maybe.

I would like to watch it again though to understand

maybe or see the undertones of why they went that route.

Do you have a favorite scene? I laughed when Will held the wand.

He didn't know what to do hahaha.

is it one of those movies where vampires and werewolves live among us because these are dumb af
lol...

Well...

It's how Lord of the Rings handles Elves, Orcs but it's modernized.

It's a very interesting take and if you don't mind a little comedy

here and there you may enjoy too. It plays a lot on current

prejudices towards police and more. It feels right to have

this come out now

Hated it! Good concept. Poor execution. All over the place. Back story not well explained. The alien guy had terrible comedic timing and left Will Smith hanging. He went too far left on the aspergers unintentional humor scale and actually missed the mark. Let's be honest, if this weren't a Will Smith movie it would have been torn apart.

I really wanted to love this movie because I'm a sci fi fan, but it was just okay for me. I hope the sequel is better.
lol I miss In Living Color.

Yes!

My favorite scene was early on.

When Will asked Nick to make the face of an Orc who needs to shut the fuck up and drive to work.

You also have to understand who is playing who in the movie.

Orcs = black

Black = white

Elves = Jewish

Cops = cops

White ppl have been pretty nasty to black ppl when we entered law enforcement.

Well, when we entered anything.

Yeah. I'm kind of getting frustrated how some are getting offended by what the film

is having the courage to touch on. It's not a nefarious message.

It's a message to help influence self awareness and change

in society. So what if it uses fantasy to spread such a message.

we watched it tonight and, well i dont really like gangster films. which is why i dont like the series Luke Cage, cause it focuses alot on gangsters. lol although i like the character Luke cage..ah well.

the whole elf and orc thing was kind of cool to interject into a modern day world.

the thing that we didnt like was that it was really chaotic. for a film that has alot focused on crime organization, it was really chaotic. But then, my man was noticing that the " style " of the film was similar to "Suicide Squad" .. also very chaotic.

the director is David Ayer,

capricorn virgo moon, pisces mars sag venus, the man has alot of mutable going on. lol

which is nice with the whole chaos and stuff

It was okay. It was a one-time watch for me.

Will Smith did well and was funny as always. The whole orc and fairy theme was interesting but the overall storyline was predictable and not very original in my opinion which is fine in some cases but I think the execution in this movie was lacking a bit so it was more noticeable. I was expecting a better and more satisfying conclusion but I still liked it.

I like this whole Netflix original movies and shows idea, especially the shows so I'll be looking forward to the next one.
Me too. I love the diversity and options on Netflix when I have time.

Bright is definitely getting another watch from me.

I really enjoyed it.

yeah, Lisa. Ayers movies are interesting lol.

I'm pretty open to his sand castles though..

And Suicide Squad was going to be avoided by me

In discussions here because I notice how certain people here

try to bully or look down on each other because of ones optimistic

views to certain films that may seem inferior but I enjoyed Suicide Squad.

I think Will and Ayer work well together and I’m curious what Bright 2 would look like.

um i really liked the love story between the Joker and the doctor turned psycho chick. thats my favourite part.

otherwise, i'm one of the peeps that really isn't into the film. it was all over the place.

i'm highly mutable too so i'm the same, all over the place. lol
