I've been on a superhero binge lately, and the movie industry has turned this category into a cash cow so we are looking at many years of development.

All time favorite to this date is definitely Civil War. Iconic and Disney has done a wonderful job with Marvel.

I also like The Amazing Spiderman. My bias towards my favorite superhero, but happy they decided to remake this storyline because Kirsten Dunst is a terrible actress.

Deadpool for its R rated originality. Ryan Reynolds is as prefect to the character as Robert Downey Jr. is to Iron Man.

Did I mentiom Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man to this date? ❤

So Batman and CatWoman.

My fav Bruce Wayne's are Adam West, Keaton is my fav, Kilmer was good too.

Wasn't much of a fan of the superman vs batman. Afleck ruined batman in that movie 😢

Afleck did a superb job being the Dark Knight. I was rather than impressed. He did a wonderful character version of Frank Miller's darker version of Batman.

As for the movie, it was pretty good compared to the critics' reviews, but not compared to Civil War.

Agreed on the ratings... I was pleasantly surprised as they ripped it apart. Not much can compare to civil war.

We wil have to agree to disagree, I think I'm just more hooked on the earlier ones. Lol I'm more about Cat woman than batman 🙂

batman under the red hood is good but it's an anime movie, i dont know if you'll like. but it's well writed
Say no more. Loved it. Watched it 3 times and I can never get over the feels in the scene when Batman confronts him in front of the Joker saying he thought he was like a son. And it counts. Would love to see it brought to life now that your brought it up.

I love spiderman, you love deadpool. We just mesh.

Would love to see a movie of this mashup, though.
Sadly it may never happen, hell i'm praying a wolverine deadpool movie happens after Logan.
I hear you. Disney's gotta keep it PG-13

That and getting the rights from fox would be a bitch. They barely bartered a deal with sony for spiderman.

Right? Fantastic 4 is a joke for the past 15 year lol Thank god Ryan Reynolds used guerrilla tactics to make and release deadpool

The second remake of Fantastic 4 wasn't that great either.

Didn't Ryan get the director to quit for Deadpool 2 though?

there is rumor about a movie, even the rumor saying that jared leto is red hood, thats why the joker was ghetto style and angry asf, because this the personality of jason

I heard that theory too. Also the J and Damaged tattoos convincingly confirms it. But Batman vs Superman was disappointing in so many ways. Joker was hardly present being the main issue for me. Seemed more like a minor character than a major and he had no point in the storyline compared to the animated version!

They had creative difference. Tim Miller wanted to make deadpool 2 more serious, and making a deadpool movie serious is just asking for failure no matter how good the script is. They'll be fine as long as Ryan is at the helm. The fantastic 4 reboot was so bad fox immediately stopped production the sequel they green lighted lol

Yeah that's just suicide turning deadpool into a serious character. Good call on that.

Pun intended?

Ant-Man

Actually it's a tie between Ant-Man and Captain America movie franchise.
Surprisingly, the non household named superheros are coming out on the top. Ant-man as you've mentioned and Guardians of the Galaxy being another.

batman v superman was more a annoucement movie, about justice league, and maybe unjustice and red hood, but if they do red hood. i hope they wont fail

Yes. It was a rushed movie to gain ratings ground to compete with Civil War. Unfortunately, they crammed too much storyline in a short time frame that once again puts the audience in confusion unless you know own the back stories.

the winter soldier movie could have been tier 0 without all the giant helicopter bullshit.

I actually felt Affleck's performance as Bruce Wayne (maybe not so much Batman but he can only work with what he's given there) was the only redeeming thing about that entire reboot. Everything else was boring.

I found it intriguing of Jesse Eisenberg's take of Lex Luthor. I didn't like it per se because it was mirroring the Joker's personality. There can only be one Joker and that's Heath Ledger-RIP. So I agree with the Dark Knight Trilogy. I did enjoy Snyder's storyline of Zod ressurected as Doomsday BVS, however. If only he didn't feel rushed to meet Civil War's hype.

I love Spiderman. And I'm happy it was redone because Andrew Garfield is amaze. But if there is another remake of Spiderman in like the next fifty years I refuse to watch it.
Tobey Maguire played the Perfect Peter Parker, but an average Spiderman (I'll pretend movie #3 never existed).

Andrew Garfield played a fantastic Spiderman, but I never felt the presence of Peter Parker which irked me.

Then comes along with Tom Holland, a kid who got the role doing backflips in his yard. And he is the perfect Peter Parker and Spiderman. Finally, the day has come and I hope they continue with him. His humor doesn't seem forced and rolls off naturally. I was skeptical of him in Civil War, but expectations have been overshot. Watching the Homecoming trailer I am excited to see it.

Even in his interviews he has an unintentional Peter Parker vibe going on. It's the dawn of British actors.

My favourite is always going to be Chris Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. The design of everything.

I liked most of the Avengers movies. I just wish others would stop trying to force humour into action sequences to try and copy their success.
Marvel directors have found an outlet with humor on a movie's success so why not roll with it?
Sure, if the entertainment is built on that from the beginning like Marvel has done.

But when you see other franchises trying to mimic them out of nowhere when it's not even within character (like Tom Cruise trying to bring levity to Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible 4) it's just awkward and painful to watch.

Agreed, but there has to be a balance. Remember, DC has their own comic relief characters as can be seen in a couple trailers for the Justice League. The Flash and Hal Jordan's the Green Lantern to name a few. Therefore, naturally the actors playing those characters will have to dig into their humor gene. Although, I understand your point because I see a difference in themes: Marvel has followed a humorous take, while DC is going down a darker path, hence reliving Frank Miller's The Dark Knight. And to flip flop between the two themes will put the fans in confusion.

I'm a Lex Luthor fan in general. He reminds me of everything it is to be a Libra in a lot of ways. But I just wasn't feeling whatever Eisenberg was trying to do with it lol

Sharp. Classy. Cunning. Clever. Everything Eisenberg was not.

It's a shame movies can't reuse actors such as Smallville's Lex Luthor.

1-it's funny

2-it doesn't try to make politics and end up making cartoon-level shit

3-doesn't waste time with exposition

4-doesn't take itself seriously, and doesn't try to impress with a lot of stiff characters looking serious

5-is not a reboot of a reboot

6-fresh property, side character so more creative freedom

7-none of that shield/hydra bullshit

You can compare it with a similar side character : dr strange. Except dr strange sucked.

I'm not a fan of the current DC movies, but most of the DC TV shows are awesome: Flash, gotham, arrow, etc... Top level TV

In comparison, the SHIELD TV show from Marvel is atrocious.
Waiting for the next season of Flash.

Arrow was slow to pick up then it got great, but then it got boring towards the end. I do like Felicity a lot as an added character though even as not part of the origin.

I'd say either X-Men: Days of Future Past, Iron Man or Thor. However, I kind of want to see Chronicle and I have missed out on some of the films from both Marvel and DC.

Although Civil War and Age of Ultron were somewhat solid films, I can't stand the fact that they can't kill off a major character or two. This makes me feel like there aren't any stakes involved and I no longer feel the need to care about these films. The only 4-5 films I haven't seen were The Dark World, some of the solo movies, Winter Soldier and Captain America. I found the ideas in Iron Man quite interesting and Thor was a very solid standalone film. Guardians of the Galaxy are something I found above average as well.

I am not a big fan of Spider-Man and the last 3 movies were hot trash. Let's hope that Homecoming manages to capture my interest.

The DC superhero films haven't been good since Nolan ended his Dark Knight trilogy. Batman V Superman was not a very enjoyable experience and should have been directed as well as written by someone else. I actually didn't mind the actors they chose, my issues were with the lack of decent setup and writing. Suicide Squad seemed more interesting than BvS, but it still suffered from poorly cut footage and bad script/plot. I will maybe check out Justice League if it has good reviews.

I like the X-Men movies the most, except for Origins: Wolverine, X3 and Apocalypse. They feel more character-driven and tell interesting stories. Days of Future Past, despite it's plotholes, has been my favorite. I loved the performances and Quicksilver's character.
