How do you know someone is really the one for you?

First off I'm a Sagittarius sun Aquarius moon, and my boyfriend is a Gemini sun Aquarius moon. If you want any other aspects just ask. Anyway, we haven't been together that long, about a year (on and off) but before our relationship started we were close friends, so there was already an emotional bond there, which I feel like has made our relationship go faster than normal. Him and I both struggle with the idea of commitment, yet we both have the idea of commitment in the back of our minds because of how strongly we connect. It's hard though because everyone around me says it's just infatuation, because this is the first serious relationship I've been in. I'm 19 though and I think I'm mature for my age, I didn't go into the relationship making up some idea in my head about how we were supposed to have a future together, I actually did the complete opposite, I didn't want to think about that. I had a year long relationship during highschool before him but after that I realized I never really was in love, until I met him. We've had our ups and downs because of this, he has abandonment issues and therefor thinks nothing will ever work out for him, so he runs away before he gets hurt. That's the thing though, he always comes back and realizes that he was just pushing me away because he was scared of how strongly he feels for me. I struggle with my feelings too because of how young we are, but when I'm with him I just feel it's right. I feel at home, safe, loved. He was very guarded at the beginning of our relationship and I knew it would be hard for him to open up, but at this point he has told me that now he feels like he can be completely open with me, and that's part of the reason he gets scared is because of being vulnerable. We've talked about all of this a lot obviously. We basically feel like no one understands how close we are. No one sees the way we are when we're alone. They just think it's like any other relationship, but it's so much deeper than we ever expected it to be. Neither of us want to settle down anytime soon though, we've both always seen ourselves waiting until we were older and more established on our own. That's why it's hard because he feels like we're perfect for eachother but we met too young but lately he has been saying he's realizing that he doesn't need to have a bunch of crazy stories from his youth, those things aren't going to make him feel whole and complete within himself, he says he knows he won't be happy without me in his life. Idk I'm hoping someone has some advice on this, I know it's very subjective, but how do you know for sure that someone is the one for you?
So its only 3 or 4 moon signs that are compaitble with our air moon. Aqua moons number 1, then Sag, Libra, and then Aries.

Yeah do you know why, its still an air moon.. I say it's because it's just enough balance for Sag moon to come back. When Sag thinks over analytical here comes Libra, so help calm down, and think about whats what in a different light . without stepping one toes.
Not just with Libra, but that one cardinal fire, that one mutable Sagittarius, and another air moon, as well that is only Libra moon can have the space needed and just know there is a connection and can help one another like Aquarius moon or Sag even likes. Its only a few that just gets us. I dont ask anyone their signs hardly.

I think you guys should really give the relationship a serious try. Aquarius moons can be a bit detached from their emotions and afraid of commitment. Since you guys are the same moon sign you will understand each other really well. You are young but if you let each other go, who knows when you'll meet someone else who's as compatible as you are with him? And your sun-moon combinations alone are really compatible.

That's interesting. The guy I'm dating is a sag moon and I'm libra moon. He says that he likes confiding in me (which is a huge compliment coming from a cap sun) because I'm a good listener and I see things from a different perspective.
What do you think our Venus match he's Scorpio and I'm Aquarius. I think his Scorpio Venus softens his cap sun and my Pisces side can relate to it?

First - you've mentioned a couple times in here about other people and what they think, or what they understand or believe ... and that's just bullshit. Every person has a different view or opinion from the next person, and you are suppose to be in this based on the two of you, not what others believe.

My philosophy is that there are multiple soul-mates. In a sense, everybody can be your soul-mate - we all are pieces of the same energy and together we create the whole, so we are all inter-connected. Yup, some pieces feel closer than others because they have shared past lifetimes and meet again in this one, but for what reason?
I think the reason we meet someone or sth happens to us is basically "development". Our soul needs to learn and experience things in order to advance/evolve.
Everybody who i feel inspires me in a way, creates a conflict in me in a way or just represents "movement" (internal or external) is here to help me advance and to get help advancing.
In that context, i believe that "the one" is the person who you feel so attracted you know you want to be with him/her. (Has to be mutual i suppose). "The one" can change in your lifetime. But they are all "the one".

I used to look back on my past relationships and feel like they were a waste of time and love. Except for my children I felt like nothing good came of them. Only heartbreak and pain.
Now I'm more evolved as a person and can look back in those relationships and see the lessons that were in them.
In grateful for those experiences as they've made me who I am and taught me quite a lot.
