How has *desire* manifested in your life and has it led you to good things or at times led you into trouble? What kind of desires do you/have you had and have you been able to fulfill them?

I am particularly interested in the Venus in Scorp people but would like to hear from all Scorpios

My levels of desire have always been huge, and at times i let them rule me, but am learning how to temper them and channel them into things that wont hurt me or lead me in the wrong direction

Sun, Venus, Jupiter, Neptune in the 7th and Mercury in the 8th ~ all in Scorpio

i learned all desire is not good desire. so i stop and ask myself some questions. why do i want this or that? do i need it? will it improve my quality of life or be detrimental? this helps me decide. my desires are sometimes comfort based... a good home, nice career, food in my belly, clothes on my back. mainly my desires are spiritual - i seek to control and humble myself only. i seek less emotion and more logic without losing compassion. i desire wisdom and knowledge...my ultimate desire is a balanced spirit, a good heart, and a sharp mind. #phoenixgoals

I guess I can agree with that.

But acknowledging, and acting on, a desire are two separate things.

Acknowledging and reminding yourself of the destruction a desire can cause, is a good way to keep yourself from acting on said desire.

Not easy to do or viable for some

I had to do it with relationships though....they were so interfering with my health and became an obsession...so cold turkey for me for over 3years...

With some addictions, cutting down gradually can help

Going cold turkey has not been beneficial to any of my addictions. Learning to moderate my intake/desire has been. Complete lack of that which I desire makes the desire all that much more irresistible.

I get that totally, but i had to knock sex on the head as it was damaging me on a few levels, i am fortunate in that i can remember the fall out from it, so when i think of it, the thoughts aren't as enticing. Maybe if someone was destroying their body, they could remember the shitty after effect feelings of the drug rather than just the highs?

geez I wish we could find a good system / answer ... it would surely help us all ...

I try daily to cut down on the cigs but then after a few days, I forget and I'm going in another direction and those few days of good progress gets thrown out the window ...

I chose to dive in and see what was up with me and to fix it. When I did, the yearnings stopped....I am now addicted to nothing harmful...

For me personally, my addictions aren't filling a void. They offer an escape.

Scorpio sun, Venus and Jupiter conjunct here. Scorpio is my top planet in Pullen.

For the most part, my desires have been for things that are positive for me, like health. I'll try to figure out how to achieve what I want - researching, etc. Then I get to it and see if it works or not. I'm very disciplined with things like that. Even if I don't achieve what I want 100% , I can often come close.

Where desire hasn't been positive is when it turned into a painful yearning in a few of my romantic relationships. I really wanted the relationships to work out, and I put a lot of energy into that and tried hard to understand the other person's side of things, etc. but ultimately they weren't willing and/or able to do the same so it was draining for me.

Other desires I have are just fanciful, not anything achievable, so I just enjoy imagining them, perhaps writing a short story about them, or when I was younger drawing them. My imagination has helped me to get through some difficult times - a nice escape that doesn't do any damage to me, just gives me a break from pain.

For me to learn though I had to push myself to the limits of myself. Being single is the only way I have healed and my God, did I ever get to know myself

Simply put..

There are things humans cannot, and will never achieve. We live in a reality based on rules.

I want to escape those rules.

I desire to make the world more beautiful. Like on the eyes. Aesthetically.

Function and form are important of course, but I want it first and foremost to be pretty.

I was tripping out the other day thinking about how many trees I've had planted on jobs in the last 5 months. In 30/40 years that a huge green skyline.

I become totally obsessed and immersed with whatever I put my attention on. It usually becomes unhealthy. I don't know how to curb it. All I know to do is switch to something else, and I'm good at doing that. I can't really do anything in moderation though. It could be a person, a subject, a hobby, a substance, dxp, whatever....I'm trying to cope with some of these things that have accumulated in my life right now by isolating myself, but then, even in isolation I find ways to do it...

I have the same tendencies and I'm a Virgo.

Coming from a Scorpio moon and Pluto I've indulged to the post desire was lost. Its likely the combination of Leo sun and Taurus mars also, but I find myself super jaded and hard to impress. Its like once I feel I mastered something I give up on it completely, so I find myself surrounded with hobbies and jobs that are impossible to master.

Same conjunction in 7th here and I can relate. My 7th house is ruled by Scorp but intercepted by Sag. My Neptune is Sag, making an out of sign conjunction. My Sag Mercury is also in the 7th house. Everything is conjunct.

The Sag saves me, perhaps, from becoming so involved with a partner that I give too much to the relationship and neglect myself, but in my last LTR that was tested and I did give up too much. It's taken a while to recover.

Engineers and architects work together to make things happen.

The architect is imagination and a dreamer. They see possibilities and implement some competent math to not go overboard on the dreaming.

The engineer gets the blue prints and cusses the architect out at their outlandish ideas, and many times have the frustration of having to find a way to make those ideas function properly...lol.

In the end, it always works - and as a result, you have marvelous wonders to marvel at and enjoy, use.

This world would be very boring and mundane if it were filled with engineers, only. Both are necessary.

Career - I desire to be an accountant manager. I am always in the position of being a supervisor or general accountant. and still wanted to be a lawyer if there is shorcuts on this I probably have gone to it. I have huge responsibility in the family. So no time to go school. Maybe it is not for me.

Or scorpio itself even if I own every thing still not enough..so I just let it go.

In life. I always desire to have a home..almost there though..

I have a Scorpio Moon. I feel like there's been many things in the past that I've wanted, and that I eventually got in one form or another in the future.. Wasn't necessary what I wanted it to be but it happened lol. It's like the saying "Be careful what you wish for."

Also, the intense fantasizing can be pretty inescapable. Biased perceptions, lack of control, emotional frustrations, etc.

But of course, amazing levels are reached when this energy is focused and utilized positively. It's a really great result, so fulfilling
