not gonna work, just be yourself, if he likes you, he will keep talking to you.
i have expressed that i like him more and want to take things further, i gave him the space to give me an honest ans when he is ready, but he hasnt replied to that but he is still meeting me and his affection towards me has increased, the hugs the head kisses, cracking jokes etc. so i just want to know whether he is playing me, taking his time or is unable to express himself.

You don't "make" them do anything. They'll show you in a million tiny ways, and maybe they'll "tell" you when they're ready.
Sometimes they might let you do things they would normally take great exception to, because they trust you (long story; don't ask). Point is, Virgos are better at showing than telling.

He is hot and cold and the worst is he isnt expressing what is on his mind and it is driving me crazy. He called me to his house the other day when he was alone and we made out and he showed me his stuff, his collection of fragrances( cus i told him i have a thing for them), and we talked too. He doesnt ask me many questions but he shares about himself and what he likes and what he doesnt, what makes him angry etc. he told me that his work is very imp right now for him ( typical virgo lol), but i feel i am not as imp to him and he is to me. i asked him to tell me about his feelings and tell me what he wants out of me directly and indirectly, but he doesnt say anything and dodges the subject. he not expressing is giving me a feeling that he wants to still explore better than me.

-He remembers things when he feels like it, or i am mad at him. Getting his attention is like pulling teeth from a turtle. (I dont even try any more)

The funny part he knows not to do it. He just doesnt understand the pain it puts me through because its not a big deal to him.
But one thing he is 'Great Father' to our daughters. I love how he is with the girls. He is a hard worker and very very smart about all kinds of things. He is also very attentive in bed.
First I don't think you can "make" a Virgo (or any other) to tell you what they feel about you and if you're thinking about testing, think again because they notice every little detail and don appreciate say "testing" of their loyalty/personality of any sorts.
The most honest (when they choose to speak) people you will find, choosing to show you how much they care more through actions then words.
Also don't try to measure someone else's way of showing love and affection to your own, everyone is different so try and put yourself in his shoes instead of just your own.
